I think the end game would have a lot more content if guild territories were more dynamic. If the map wasn't just divided up by about 4-5 guilds, with the territories being practically invulnerable then it would encourage warring guilds with 1-2 player parties going after territories, instead of needing like 10 players to attack something.
I left guilds out of the video since i dont have enough experience to confidently talk about it, but there was plenty of people talking to me about it. Maybe eventually i'll do a collab and have someone talk about it for me
Depends on what territories you mean, because 80-90% of the territories are takeable with a build costing less than 30le if you go for the cheapest of the cheapest. Another 5% can be taken by 2 players in cheap builds or one in a rather expensive build. It's just the final 5% that actually requires a team. Yes, if the map had more territories rather than just limiting the player to sitting around doing nothing if they're in one of these "big" guilds or locking them out of the content completely if they aren't in one of the bigger guilds.
Nah right now there isn't a mega alliance so the map is FFA. Some guilds have truces going on but taking claims is possible as shown be Ico often sitting on ESI's self proclaimed claim (sky). Also, 10 players can't attack a territory (5 is max) and everything can be soloed (For hqs, just snake res terrs then snake conns block routes drain and take)
@@amoghrathi6572 Yeah. The main issue is that many of the larger guilds have 24/7 coverage, or very near to that. Case in point ESI and ICo, who have been trading sky daily for the past few weeks since their strong timezones are "opposite". So you'll end up doing 0 damage with your snake and wasting everyone's time (Assuming the strat who's defending is competent). Thanks for pointing out FFA, I forgot that part

Wynncraft honestly is the best server I've ever played, it's so much fun and the content makes it last for over a year (at least for me) it's worth playing, 11/10 server
As a damn near Day 1 Wynncraft player, taking a break and coming back was an awful mistake bc I have no idea what I'm doing anymore; however, I still love the aspect of the game and say its worth starting fresh

Absolutely same, I was so confused at Gavel's release, then they did it again with the ability trees and new spells. TBH I still dont get it but its cool that the new mechanics allow for so many different playstyles, and resetting to try something else is extremely easy. Remember back in the days when you had to go to the Tower of Amnesia and buy a scroll for 20EB or something to reset your skill points?

Wynncraft almost makes me forget I’m playing Minecraft at times. I currently run a Warrior using Apocalypse and it’s genuinely satisfying seeing the sheer destruction IMO
yes doing the all the quests once is very nice! great way to explore the world and see a bunch of stuff, and then further realize that theres EVEN MORE to explore other than where the quests take you. the world is so big and detailed- very awesome

Such a great video! I've been playing off and on many times over the years, literally since when before the server had a resource pack (I can specifically recall the VIP town and classic black armor sets, have og adventurer's dyed armor, etc), and it is over all a very fun server! I haven't gotten as far into it as I'd like because every time I take a break, I end up forgetting kind of what I was doing with that character, and they keep changing (positively) everything so everything feels so new I have to just try everything over again. Especially when the update changed the entire combat and level and playstyle progression from the much simpler one, it was a really sick update but completely had me starting from scratch. Still though absolutely a great server that I always love to share with friends :D
Wynncraft adding more leaderboards would be so nice. Easy to implement considering the stats are already tracked by Wynncraft-- in fact, there are Discord Bots that track those stats already! simply incredible
I believe the devs can't add player leaders or at least very restricted about it. Since silvershare membership was added, EULA would totally be a nuisance.

Just started over with a few friends and man its been a blast. Absolutely love this server and have been sinking on avergae ten hours a day with friends. AN unhealthy amount? probably, but im having fun!
I just wish professions (specifically gathering) gave something in return to make them worth it. For example in HSB, foraging is boring and grindy af but at least you get a bit of permanent strength which isn't a lot but at least it's something, especially for min-maxers.
yup. theres a lack of min-max progression systems in Wynncraft, which is something ive personally been trying to suggest. Gathering existing to support the Crafting system makes sense but Gathering itself is just so boring and poorly executed
Are you kidding, that would make people do professions. Its a soulless grind so don't add free stats on those who can spend the insane hours to grind versus the casuals.

A thing I want to see in wynncraft is pvp. It needs a way to fight for leaderboard/rewards. there are so many different way you can build your character and you can use so many stuff. It whould cool if every class had a leaderboard where you can compete... I also miss the giant nether FFA mode we had a few years ago. that was fun they should try to implement this again. You join in quick 5mins FFA sessions and the person with the most kills wins. or they could make it 1 life only and the last one standing wins. only problem might be people teaming but they could make rules where you get disqualified if you do this...
I just wanna add onto the endgame rant, The Nameless Anomaly only rewards like 2 LE at most per run, Forgery and it's horrendous mythic chance despite it getting a pity system took me 640 TOTAL dungeon clears to get a single mythic, (I'm aware of how lucky you can get etc.) and right now lootrunning just showers you with money (I wouldn't know how much because I vowed to never lootrun because it never appealed to me) Due to how linear the endgame rewards are I just feel depressed because I really enjoy combat content where you party up with other people and kill a big bad monster especially with how expressive Wynncraft's builds and abilities are. (please readd burning heart I wanna dps guard mannnn :c)
ngl, I tried wynncraft like two years ago when a few other youtubers played it and it had stopped really being updated. The tutorial was kind of clunky and the bosses reminded me of something similar to hypixel skyblock, so I didn't bother a ton with it. My inventory was also getting constantly filled with random items. The more recent updates seem huge though, and the graphics look great. probably worth a second try.
a bit late to the party, but as an avid mmorpg player, wynncraft captured my attention quite quickly and was really fun to play, Sadly i've not been on it again for awhile as i managed to practically get my minecraft hacked (oopsie on my part) and not having the email to reset my password. Tho might give it a go again on my free time!
Given that with being fully prepared and using the bonuses their available potential, you can grind out professions on a class in about 100 hours or so. I am not saying that it is low and even recognise that it is a substantial amount of time for a beginner player. But an mmorpg is a game where the point is to put effort and hours into it while making new friends. The grindy aspect of professions is absolutely not out of place for this type of game. But as everyone can agree on: for your first playthrough it is adviced to ignore them and your attention should be directed towards quests, exploration and raids.
Professions as a concept is fine, but wynn's execution of "Gathering" is not. Grindy things should exist, yes. in a future video i'll be more directly making actual suggestions on what Wynncraft could implement to promote itself as an MMORPG. Endgame progression systems are great but Wynn has none of it.
Heres a idea for the raid issue: Raids now require a new item called a Rain Token. You obtain a few from beating a lower level raid, and it is consumed. So to play stronger raids, you must complete weaker ones for the tokens, so it still gets played. If you want to do a stronger one right away, you can store the tokens up, but you will have to return eventually
Mid and endgame is kinda boring if you don't do the quests and read the dialog. People who don't read the dialog will think that quests are boring but if you read the dialog you get a new feel for the entire world which makes every phase of the game nice to play through until you reach the end where there isn't anything to do exept for grinding...
i mean it kinda annoys me that while i try to read the story fast the slow and not so greatly acted voice distrupts me. I know its a passion project so it shouldnt be good and all but I mean I can do without it. wynntils is a need though
Why am I watching this I have been playing since 2014. always on and off, never too serious. I have one class at 106, and a few more up there, but havent sold my soul to lootrunning or raids or even ever touched a mythic. But the server has come a LONG way from when weapons were sticks and shovels. Wynncraft has given me a few hundred hours of entertainment, and is the only server I would ever consider purchasing a rank on just as a way to support the team.
Update, I have now touched a mythic. I kind of wanted my first mythic to be one I naturally found, but I ended up impulse buying a Discoverer that seemed like a really good deal with most of my net worth lol. I figure i could probably sell it at a profit later.
I'm surprised I didn't find this video earlier but one personal issue I do have as someone who somewhat cares about the quests is level 40 - 50 has felt like a total drag every time I have reached that point. I've only gotten past that bore barrier with two of my files while deleting a lot that never got past that point later on
yea there's a mid point with quests that really is just lacking. I'm also not entirely fond of the quest reward system not being as beneficial as it could be. Doing every single quest doesn't even properly progress you forward. at some point you're kinda forced to do some other stuff or grind something. People can argue dungeons and mob grinding are easy, but quests are definitely a "flow" kind of thing. not a fan of how doing almost anything other than quests is the faster way to progress in Wynncraft. Some quests are stinkers too. and then there's the whole thing where you keep bouncing back and forth between Gavel and Nesaak/Troms. very annoying
tbh I had never heard of DOFUS until i started researching for that part of the video. seems like an interesting game, but my childhood MMORPG was MapleStory lol
@@loonitick Dofus is subscription based but if you start makeing money its basicly fully free to play and no pay to win and allot of cosmetics are free :) But, it's a very hard game to master, i've played it since 2008 ish. if you're intrested into the tactical turnbased mmorpg gameplay, i would heavily suggest you try wakfu first. It's free to play and the subscription is only an xp boost and at the end of this month will release the first mono server meaning no duplicate accounts. It's way more easier than dofus and helps you understand the fundamentals. if you like wakfu and want to try a more harder gameplay i would say then try dofus ;) p.s there is allot of lore in both games and aso several series and movies. The base lore between dofus vs wakfu is that wakfu is very munch into the future of dofus where the races aka the classes transformed more into the gods they worshipped ((more believe in their god the stronger they will resemble their god. Not to spoil too much of the plot but something tragic happend when a creature named ogrest got basicly godly powers and he lost someone dear to him that he cried so much that he flooded the entire world makeing the world of wakfu be in several islands while dofus is completely one land with only a few islands.
My strategy for not having a boring endgame in wynncraft is…to not play it that often lmao I sadly have a life Been playing off and on for 3 years and I still haven’t explored everything! Or understood what a build is. Or touched crafting. Or built on my housing plot yet. See, I’ve got loads to do in my endgame!

To play this you need to have patience and get into the mood. When I say this, I mean you can become really bored of it if you don’t feel it. One of the ways of making it boring is, not doing quests or playing only for dungeons or doing quests but not reading what the npcs says. The game itself is really fun, and as I viewer, I recommend it to other viewers.
yup! im currently writing the script for another Wynncraft video and one of the main subjects is how Wynncraft does "immersion" the best out of any other server within this niche. if you don't get into the vibe, you probably won't enjoy Wynncraft as much. There's stuff for the players who don't get into that sort of feel, but it's limited. Build combinations, archetype playstyles, boss fights, dungeon rushing, guild wars, lootrunning-- there's a fair bit of stuff to do, but most of that is limited to the endgame. The real best part of Wynncraft is the first playthrough, and ignoring that in a rush to play the endgame will ruin it
I agree with the your removing the sprint bar opinion. Me and my friend had a lengthy conversation about the lame excuse they gave about separating mana from the hunger bar aswell. But other than that I love wynncraft and always will regardless of my nitpicks
it's not a lame excuse lol it is literally impossible to fully seperate the two. it's a minecraft restriction. as cool as it would be, it's literally not possible.
@felixtape3291 I can explain, essentially l the hunger bar is a representation of the mana value. As mana decreases so does the hunger bar. While yes it is a minecraft limitation that you can't sprint on low hunger, they could just not decrese the hunger bar in line with the mana value. Sure you're missing out on that visual it would succeed in separating the bar and the mana value itself. Maybe even allow for some overhauling of other mechanics.
I'm near combat level 50 and that slowdown was no joke, compared to quests and whatnot early on the game just feels super slow (it doesn't help that I failed horse breeding 2 times so i had to completely reset my wealth twice)
it definitely slows down, but you also have quite the world to explore so im not entirely sure. wish the pace just stayed consistent--- Wynncraft would be way better if it had a main questline as well
@@loonitick My biggest issue has to be the immense distances needed to travel for quests since I do a quest or 2 in Gavel or Wynn just to have to travel back to the other province and just go through half the world for some fetch quest after I forget to stock up on scrolls or I'm too low on soul points. The worst offender of this by far has to be the Bob's Lost Soul quest I did not too long ago, hopefully there won't be that many quests like that one later on.
@@TheJukebox. scrolls and soul point management are definitely important. Both Gavel and Wynn Province having areas of the same level range is definitely annoying though

Honestly I feel like videos that are trying to show wynncraft to new players shouldn't be using Wynntils it creates a lot of confusion for new players wondering why these things they saw in the video aren't in the game even if it is highly recommended to get wynntils, new players that are just trying the game/aren't that invested wont want to download mods for a single server (unless they only play modded I guess)

one of my reoccurring issues i run into with wynn is as follows: (+ some final thoughts) I get stuff for a build, maybe 1-2 mythics, use the build for about a week, get tired of the gameplay, try a diff archetype with it, suffer some more, then move on to a different build and through this switching i slowly lose out on stx and stx of LE. Granted, i did lootrun before the lootrun update for a few mythics but also got bored of mindlessly running around clicking chests... I def agree with you about the endgame and it becoming mindnumbing after you've repeated the same task, no matter the length ( 50+ times ). starting new classes eventually gets boring... doing quests for those new classes eventually gets boring. i mean content-wise, there is not really enough to hold someone up for more than a few hundred hours before they know the in and out of pretty much everything. when theres literally only 1 thing that LE is really used for it kinda defeats the purpose of it entirely as well... (mythics) And from this new lootrun update, it honestly mightve fixed the problem of some mythics being undersaturated and extremely overpriced, but only time can tell.... the skill ceiling is VERY low when compared to other games. once you've got the "rhythm" and some gamesense + a decent build, you can take on any challenge in wynn. for some people that might be a good thing, but for me who has had lots of prior experience in minecraft pve, i picked up wynn pretty quickly and hit the skill ceiling faster than i thought i would've. In all honesty though, wynn is a unique experience that is worth trying out if you like MMOPRG games and also like minecraft, but it is not really a game that you'll love for the rest of your life. it will be another "runescape" for you. something to play, maybe come back to a couple times across multiple years. But I guarentee you'll make some good memories from it!
You explained the skill ceiling aspect way better than I did in the video. Glad I could read this, and thank you for this comment. Maybe some day the endgame will be developed in a way that gives players like us more to do with our experience!
I think it is even tho I don't level up my professions and go on lvling a new class. Wynn includes so many things to do and nice people who might give you a warp if you completed a challenge xD
I lost everything ever since Microsoft took over and my account went 'identity crisis'. Was a decently high level and was beginning to search for similar parties to band together. I then took a break and when I came back chaos computer, minecraft, account management, etc.
as someone who almost completed every quest and stopped playing in just a few months wynncrafts greatest weakness is the level grinding. i couldnt complete the last two quests due the the crazy amount of xp grinding needed. i did not do secret discoverys and the ??? quest as i tried to finish the whole quest book wikiless. but from looking at the secret discoverys wiki page briefly, frankly it looks such a bore going from place to place.
Yea ??? And some secret discoveries pretty much require guides which can be pretty demotivating. At the time, they were glorious ideas and projects where the community workrd together
well as a fellow hsb player here, im kinda learning abt the game now and i dont have a problem with long grinds bc i dont even need to explain how long u have to frind for hsb
whys that? guilds are an endgame feature and it should stay that way. if you wish to play with friends, guilds are not a necessity. i believe you can join pre-existing guilds at a low level-- not sure what the requirement is other than just being invited
5:07 I have played and completed a craftsman class. I had 0 gxp during my whole run and I made all my armour and weapons using t3 materials.... I got really strong. My tip for gathering: Join a random party and chat with people. Put on some nice music/podcasts and just chill. Also take frequent breaks and lootrun the surrounding spots. also try to find your own gathering spot and dont just search them on the internet. Explore the map. yeah some gathering spots are just to good so use them but I have found some true hidden gems when gathering. I have found pretty cool locations I whould otherwise just never see. Playing craftsman really upped my map knowledge and made me explore a lot.... (for example with lvl 30 fishing I went to halfmoon island, I found out its a pretty solid lvl 30 spot. with lots of loot chests and some really awesome stuff also close nearby.... And this is just 1 place, I have found many more like this) Also a tip for new players: take this game slow. Dont try to powergrind levels. You can do it for a bit but make sure you also take your time and learn the game. So many players get like lvl 50 in a few weeks/days but then they still dont understand the game. all they do is powerlevel and buy the generic items instead of getting stuff themself and learn from trial and error... This game is very very very deep and complicated, you can play in a million different ways. its kinda sad that some people just fall for this and power level and dont take their time and then sort of get stuck and be bad and quit

I just discovered wynncraft and it seems fun. Repetetiveness and fishing etc i think ill be able to handle it since i have 1500 hours on hypixel skyblock and most content there is doing the same task for hundreds of hours
Wynncraft is a very interesting case of a game. If you judge it by Minecraft Server standards, it's one of the best, rivaling even Hypixel Skyblock thanks to it's 5-option fundamentals (1 Basic attack AND 4 Spells per class, all of which theoretically get frequent use) However, when it comes to specific strengths, it is CONSISTENTLY outclassed by evey other game on the market, with it's only defense being that it's a minecraft server working with command blocks, plugins, and spaghetti. - Elemental Gameplay: Outclassed by Crosscode. - "Free" elemental combat and exploration: For how much I hate Genshin, I can respect it's strong focus on the elements. The storyline is better by virtue of there BEING a story to begin with. - Super speedy tryhard gameplay: Ultrakill. First Person action at it's bull$#!+iest! - Fast paced strategy: Bug Fables and Kingdom Rush have that. - Pure strategy with simplistic gear systems and baked-in class skills: Octopath Traveler 2 beats it by a MILE. Path Actions, Double-Classing, and a MEANINGFUL gear roster where everything has fixed stats. - Hop in and play with friends kinda game: Deep Rock Galactic is SO awesome. It's about as slow as Wynncraft in terms of actually getting to customize your stuff and the slow progression, but even the base Classes and stock weapons just feel...Right. - Free Tactical Grinding Server: Hypixel Skyblock somehow has more meaningful playstyle variety due to how you devote yourself to different resource types. Altogether, Wynncraft does a lot of decent things, but is simply not worth my time over playing other games.
yes! comparing to actual games, Wynncraft still feels a bit lacking. It's mostly only worth playing because *it's in Minecraft*. It does have quite the world and there is a story to follow if you wanted to pay enough attention to it. DRG is awesome lol Wynncraft aint got shit on Ultrakill Some people have bought the full version of Minecraft and are simply searching for something to play within it instead of buying another game. Wynncraft exists to appeal towards the people who want to play another game entirely while already knowing the base controls of the game!
i remember the first time i was playing wyncraft i was having the time of my life as a mage, teleporting around and exploring the castle that wasnt meant to be explored, then i got stuck in one of the weird noches and gave up since i dindt know how to get out.
wynncraft sort of just feels like terraria with the fast-ish progression rate and the crazy animations and texture packs, and i'd rather play terraria than play something that feels like its a totally different game to minecraft. that's why i play hypixel skyblock - it feels more minecrafty as it doesn't force a texture pack with oversized items that can feel overwhelming to a new player. skyblock feels very comforting as it feels just like minecraft with a developed progression system.
you were playing as intended, dont worry lol there's no main quest line in Wynncraft, instead you have many many stories and lore bits that develop the world you're exploring. There's no main quest line, so this means you're free to explore in whatever way you want. it's pretty interesting game design, giving the player the freedom to do as they choose. I believe there should be *some* sort of main quest line, but it still wouldn't need to be necessary, which is similar to how things are now
There's actually not really a main story. There are many cool side stories and lore bits like the infection in Wynn, the mechs of Corkus, the magic of Gavel, the time valley, the dwarves, the dungeon bosses, Bob, Fruma, the Troms jungle, the tower of ascension, the realm of light and realm of darkness, the wormholes, the orcs, etc. Most regions have a collection of secrets, and once you find all in an area, a final secret that reveals a big part of lore. Two that come to mind are figuring out the Almuj desert covers a huge empire, drowned in sand after the emperor's staff was stolen, or how the province of Gavel set to sea and found the war-torn province of Wynn. Overall, although there really isn't a main story, learning about most of the things I mentioned and many others, especially like Bob, is an amazing experience for a minecraft server. Extra especially since it has no mods and is *free* to anyone

ive only ever attempted professions while DXP was up lol (only once) it reminded me of my MapleStory days, since i was just turning my brain off and watching podcasts on the second monitor. i cant imagine how it must be to be a leaderboard profs player. are they just immune to burn out?

I've got to say, really well put together video, but I completely disagree on the content dryness from my recent replay through of the game. I've specifically started playing wynn again doing only the content book and NOT grinding mobs whatsoever, and I've gotten to level 92 already without having to grind a single one. Full page and some of activities left to do in the book! If you'd play through another class this way, you'll be pleasantly suprised to learn that the wynn team has actually made the tedious mob grinding optional!
impressive! Yea, I made this video right around the time that update dropped so I had not wrote the script with experience of the new update. My lets play series is gonna capture a more "up-to-date" kind of feel once I start getting back on that. Cave XP is amazing and the content book is an awesome tool to give players a "there is stuff to do" feeling
based video!! wynncraft is a very replayable game, even if you only want to play the endgame stuff you can stick to it for quite a long time (just please dont nolife it and get burnt out) i would like professions but gathering and crafting levels are separate from each other which is why i dont do profs myself as it basically needlessly doubles the time it takes to craft some of the best endgame gear yourself. if gathering and crafting levels were the same, then it would be worth it sprint bar sucks soul points are irrelevant except for the very niche case in wars but even then theres some weird world switching tricks you can do to obtain more soul points i think so cool video!! personally not a fan of the available content. Stuff like Wars is very unrewarding and Raids get tiring after you've played hundreds with all 5 classes. The new lootrun feature is nice but they focused too much on the end Reward Chest rather than making the Lootrun itself the best part. I might or might not make a video on the topic: "What would you change in Wynncraft?"
my only gripe is that wynncraft is just a giant middle finger to anyone with arachnophobia. while yes, most of the spider content is skippable, it will severely slow down progress and make max forge speedruns impossible. call me a wimp all you want, but as someone with absolutely horrible arachnophobia, the custom texture pack making everything more realistic does NOT help in the slightest.

I think the end game would have a lot more content if guild territories were more dynamic. If the map wasn't just divided up by about 4-5 guilds, with the territories being practically invulnerable then it would encourage warring guilds with 1-2 player parties going after territories, instead of needing like 10 players to attack something.
I left guilds out of the video since i dont have enough experience to confidently talk about it, but there was plenty of people talking to me about it. Maybe eventually i'll do a collab and have someone talk about it for me
Depends on what territories you mean, because 80-90% of the territories are takeable with a build costing less than 30le if you go for the cheapest of the cheapest. Another 5% can be taken by 2 players in cheap builds or one in a rather expensive build. It's just the final 5% that actually requires a team. Yes, if the map had more territories rather than just limiting the player to sitting around doing nothing if they're in one of these "big" guilds or locking them out of the content completely if they aren't in one of the bigger guilds.
Nah right now there isn't a mega alliance so the map is FFA. Some guilds have truces going on but taking claims is possible as shown be Ico often sitting on ESI's self proclaimed claim (sky). Also, 10 players can't attack a territory (5 is max) and everything can be soloed (For hqs, just snake res terrs then snake conns block routes drain and take)

Case in point ESI and ICo, who have been trading sky daily for the past few weeks since their strong timezones are "opposite". Such a great video! I've been playing off and on many times over the years, literally since when before the server had a resource pack (I can specifically recall the VIP town and classic black armor sets, have og adventurer's dyed armor, etc), and it is over all a very fun server! I haven't gotten as far into it as I'd like because every time I take a break, I end up forgetting kind of what I was doing with that character, and they keep changing (positively) everything so everything feels so new I have to just try everything over again. Especially when the update changed the entire combat and level and playstyle progression from the much simpler one, it was a really sick update but completely had me starting from scratch. Still though absolutely a great server that I always love to share with friends :D

I just wish professions (specifically gathering) gave something in return to make them worth it. For example in HSB, foraging is boring and grindy af but at least you get a bit of permanent strength which isn't a lot but at least it's something, especially for min-maxers.
yup. theres a lack of min-max progression systems in Wynncraft, which is something ive personally been trying to suggest. Gathering existing to support the Crafting system makes sense but Gathering itself is just so boring and poorly executed

A thing I want to see in wynncraft is pvp. It needs a way to fight for leaderboard/rewards. there are so many different way you can build your character and you can use so many stuff. It whould cool if every class had a leaderboard where you can compete... I also miss the giant nether FFA mode we had a few years ago. that was fun they should try to implement this again. You join in quick 5mins FFA sessions and the person with the most kills wins. or they could make it 1 life only and the last one standing wins. only problem might be people teaming but they could make rules where you get disqualified if you do this...
I just wanna add onto the endgame rant, The Nameless Anomaly only rewards like 2 LE at most per run, Forgery and it's horrendous mythic chance despite it getting a pity system took me 640 TOTAL dungeon clears to get a single mythic, (I'm aware of how lucky you can get etc.) and right now lootrunning just showers you with money (I wouldn't know how much because I vowed to never lootrun because it never appealed to me)
Due to how linear the endgame rewards are I just feel depressed because I really enjoy combat content where you party up with other people and kill a big bad monster especially with how expressive Wynncraft's builds and abilities are.

ngl, I tried wynncraft like two years ago when a few other youtubers played it and it had stopped really being updated. The tutorial was kind of clunky and the bosses reminded me of something similar to hypixel skyblock, so I didn't bother a ton with it. My inventory was also getting constantly filled with random items. The more recent updates seem huge though, and the graphics look great. probably worth a second try.
they've really figured out the tutorial as well. it feels great from start to finish, which doesn't take too long (it is more of a RPG than a MMO)
a bit late to the party, but as an avid mmorpg player, wynncraft captured my attention quite quickly and was really fun to play, Sadly i've not been on it again for awhile as i managed to practically get my minecraft hacked (oopsie on my part) and not having the email to reset my password. Tho might give it a go again on my free time!
Given that with being fully prepared and using the bonuses their available potential,
you can grind out professions on a class in about 100 hours or so.
I am not saying that it is low and even recognise that it is a substantial amount of time for a beginner player.
But an mmorpg is a game where the point is to put effort and hours into it while making new friends.
The grindy aspect of professions is absolutely not out of place for this type of game.
But as everyone can agree on: for your first playthrough it is adviced to ignore them and your attention should be directed towards quests, exploration and raids.
Professions as a concept is fine, but wynn's execution of "Gathering" is not. Grindy things should exist, yes. in a future video i'll be more directly making actual suggestions on what Wynncraft could implement to promote itself as an MMORPG. Endgame progression systems are great but Wynn has none of it.
Heres a idea for the raid issue: Raids now require a new item called a Rain Token. You obtain a few from beating a lower level raid, and it is consumed. So to play stronger raids, you must complete weaker ones for the tokens, so it still gets played. If you want to do a stronger one right away, you can store the tokens up, but you will have to return eventually
that just adds an unnecessary step. the goal would be to make each raid individually challenging and worthwhile to play

Mid and endgame is kinda boring if you don't do the quests and read the dialog. People who don't read the dialog will think that quests are boring but if you read the dialog you get a new feel for the entire world which makes every phase of the game nice to play through until you reach the end where there isn't anything to do exept for grinding...
A mod I recommend for Wynncraft is Wynntils and Voices Of Wynn, these 2 both improve and DRASTICALLY change the way the game can be played

always on and off, never too serious. I have one class at 106, and a few more up there, but havent sold my soul to lootrunning or raids or even ever touched a mythic. But the server has come a LONG way from when weapons were sticks and shovels. Wynncraft has given me a few hundred hours of entertainment, and is the only server I would ever consider purchasing a rank on just as a way to support the team.

Update, I have now touched a mythic. I kind of wanted my first mythic to be one I naturally found, but I ended up impulse buying a Discoverer that seemed like a really good deal with most of my net worth lol. I figure i could probably sell it at a profit later.
I'm surprised I didn't find this video earlier but one personal issue I do have as someone who somewhat cares about the quests is level 40 - 50 has felt like a total drag every time I have reached that point. I've only gotten past that bore barrier with two of my files while deleting a lot that never got past that point later on
yea there's a mid point with quests that really is just lacking. I'm also not entirely fond of the quest reward system not being as beneficial as it could be. Doing every single quest doesn't even properly progress you forward. at some point you're kinda forced to do some other stuff or grind something. People can argue dungeons and mob grinding are easy, but quests are definitely a "flow" kind of thing. not a fan of how doing almost anything other than quests is the faster way to progress in Wynncraft. Some quests are stinkers too. and then there's the whole thing where you keep bouncing back and forth between Gavel and Nesaak/Troms. very annoying

tbh I had never heard of DOFUS until i started researching for that part of the video. seems like an interesting game, but my childhood MMORPG was MapleStory lol
@@loonitick Dofus is subscription based but if you start makeing money its basicly fully free to play and no pay to win and allot of cosmetics are free :) But, it's a very hard game to master, i've played it since 2008 ish. if you're intrested into the tactical turnbased mmorpg gameplay, i would heavily suggest you try wakfu first. It's free to play and the subscription is only an xp boost and at the end of this month will release the first mono server meaning no duplicate accounts. It's way more easier than dofus and helps you understand the fundamentals. if you like wakfu and want to try a more harder gameplay i would say then try dofus ;)
p.s there is allot of lore in both games and aso several series and movies. The base lore between dofus vs wakfu is that wakfu is very munch into the future of dofus where the races aka the classes transformed more into the gods they worshipped ((more believe in their god the stronger they will resemble their god. Not to spoil too much of the plot but something tragic happend when a creature named ogrest got basicly godly powers and he lost someone dear to him that he cried so much that he flooded the entire world makeing the world of wakfu be in several islands while dofus is completely one land with only a few islands.

To play this you need to have patience and get into the mood. When I say this, I mean you can become really bored of it if you don’t feel it. One of the ways of making it boring is, not doing quests or playing only for dungeons or doing quests but not reading what the npcs says. The game itself is really fun, and as I viewer, I recommend it to other viewers.
yup! im currently writing the script for another Wynncraft video and one of the main subjects is how Wynncraft does "immersion" the best out of any other server within this niche. if you don't get into the vibe, you probably won't enjoy Wynncraft as much. There's stuff for the players who don't get into that sort of feel, but it's limited. Build combinations, archetype playstyles, boss fights, dungeon rushing, guild wars, lootrunning-- there's a fair bit of stuff to do, but most of that is limited to the endgame. The real best part of Wynncraft is the first playthrough, and ignoring that in a rush to play the endgame will ruin it

I agree with the your removing the sprint bar opinion. Me and my friend had a lengthy conversation about the lame excuse they gave about separating mana from the hunger bar aswell. But other than that I love wynncraft and always will regardless of my nitpicks

@felixtape3291 I can explain, essentially l the hunger bar is a representation of the mana value. As mana decreases so does the hunger bar. While yes it is a minecraft limitation that you can't sprint on low hunger, they could just not decrese the hunger bar in line with the mana value. Sure you're missing out on that visual it would succeed in separating the bar and the mana value itself. Maybe even allow for some overhauling of other mechanics.

I'm near combat level 50 and that slowdown was no joke, compared to quests and whatnot early on the game just feels super slow (it doesn't help that I failed horse breeding 2 times so i had to completely reset my wealth twice)
it definitely slows down, but you also have quite the world to explore so im not entirely sure. wish the pace just stayed consistent--- Wynncraft would be way better if it had a main questline as well
@@loonitick My biggest issue has to be the immense distances needed to travel for quests since I do a quest or 2 in Gavel or Wynn just to have to travel back to the other province and just go through half the world for some fetch quest after I forget to stock up on scrolls or I'm too low on soul points.
The worst offender of this by far has to be the Bob's Lost Soul quest I did not too long ago, hopefully there won't be that many quests like that one later on.

Honestly I feel like videos that are trying to show wynncraft to new players shouldn't be using Wynntils
it creates a lot of confusion for new players wondering why these things they saw in the video aren't in the game
even if it is highly recommended to get wynntils, new players that are just trying the game/aren't that invested wont want to download mods for a single server (unless they only play modded I guess)

one of my reoccurring issues i run into with wynn is as follows: (+ some final thoughts)
I get stuff for a build, maybe 1-2 mythics, use the build for about a week, get tired of the gameplay, try a diff archetype with it, suffer some more, then move on to a different build
and through this switching i slowly lose out on stx and stx of LE. Granted, i did lootrun before the lootrun update for a few mythics but also got bored of mindlessly running around clicking chests...
I def agree with you about the endgame and it becoming mindnumbing after you've repeated the same task, no matter the length ( 50+ times ). starting new classes eventually gets boring... doing quests for those new classes eventually gets boring. i mean content-wise, there is not really enough to hold someone up for more than a few hundred hours before they know the in and out of pretty much everything.
when theres literally only 1 thing that LE is really used for it kinda defeats the purpose of it entirely as well... (mythics) And from this new lootrun update, it honestly mightve fixed the problem of some mythics being undersaturated and extremely overpriced, but only time can tell....
the skill ceiling is VERY low when compared to other games. once you've got the "rhythm" and some gamesense + a decent build, you can take on any challenge in wynn. for some people that might be a good thing, but for me who has had lots of prior experience in minecraft pve, i picked up wynn pretty quickly and hit the skill ceiling faster than i thought i would've.
In all honesty though, wynn is a unique experience that is worth trying out if you like MMOPRG games and also like minecraft, but it is not really a game that you'll love for the rest of your life. it will be another "runescape" for you. something to play, maybe come back to a couple times across multiple years. But I guarentee you'll make some good memories from it!
You explained the skill ceiling aspect way better than I did in the video. Glad I could read this, and thank you for this comment. Maybe some day the endgame will be developed in a way that gives players like us more to do with our experience!
I think it is even tho I don't level up my professions and go on lvling a new class. Wynn includes so many things to do and nice people who might give you a warp if you completed a challenge xD

I lost everything ever since Microsoft took over and my account went 'identity crisis'. Was a decently high level and was beginning to search for similar parties to band together. I then took a break and when I came back chaos computer, minecraft, account management, etc.
as someone who almost completed every quest and stopped playing in just a few months wynncrafts greatest weakness is the level grinding. i couldnt complete the last two quests due the the crazy amount of xp grinding needed. i did not do secret discoverys and the ??? quest as i tried to finish the whole quest book wikiless. but from looking at the secret discoverys wiki page briefly, frankly it looks such a bore going from place to place.
Yea ??? And some secret discoveries pretty much require guides which can be pretty demotivating. At the time, they were glorious ideas and projects where the community workrd together

5:07 I have played and completed a craftsman class. I had 0 gxp during my whole run and I made all my armour and weapons using t3 materials.... I got really strong. My tip for gathering: Join a random party and chat with people. Put on some nice music/podcasts and just chill. Also take frequent breaks and lootrun the surrounding spots. also try to find your own gathering spot and dont just search them on the internet. Explore the map. yeah some gathering spots are just to good so use them but I have found some true hidden gems when gathering. I have found pretty cool locations I whould otherwise just never see. Playing craftsman really upped my map knowledge and made me explore a lot.... (for example with lvl 30 fishing I went to halfmoon island, I found out its a pretty solid lvl 30 spot. with lots of loot chests and some really awesome stuff also close nearby.... And this is just 1 place, I have found many more like this)
Also a tip for new players: take this game slow. Dont try to powergrind levels. You can do it for a bit but make sure you also take your time and learn the game. So many players get like lvl 50 in a few weeks/days but then they still dont understand the game. all they do is powerlevel and buy the generic items instead of getting stuff themself and learn from trial and error... This game is very very very deep and complicated, you can play in a million different ways. its kinda sad that some people just fall for this and power level and dont take their time and then sort of get stuck and be bad and quit

I just discovered wynncraft and it seems fun. Repetetiveness and fishing etc i think ill be able to handle it since i have 1500 hours on hypixel skyblock and most content there is doing the same task for hundreds of hours

Wynncraft is a very interesting case of a game.
If you judge it by Minecraft Server standards, it's one of the best, rivaling even Hypixel Skyblock thanks to it's 5-option fundamentals (1 Basic attack AND 4 Spells per class, all of which theoretically get frequent use)
However, when it comes to specific strengths, it is CONSISTENTLY outclassed by evey other game on the market, with it's only defense being that it's a minecraft server working with command blocks, plugins, and spaghetti.
- Elemental Gameplay: Outclassed by Crosscode.
- "Free" elemental combat and exploration: For how much I hate Genshin, I can respect it's strong focus on the elements. The storyline is better by virtue of there BEING a story to begin with.
- Super speedy tryhard gameplay: Ultrakill. First Person action at it's bull$#!+iest!
- Fast paced strategy: Bug Fables and Kingdom Rush have that.
- Pure strategy with simplistic gear systems and baked-in class skills: Octopath Traveler 2 beats it by a MILE. Path Actions, Double-Classing, and a MEANINGFUL gear roster where everything has fixed stats.
- Hop in and play with friends kinda game: Deep Rock Galactic is SO awesome. It's about as slow as Wynncraft in terms of actually getting to customize your stuff and the slow progression, but even the base Classes and stock weapons just feel...Right.
- Free Tactical Grinding Server: Hypixel Skyblock somehow has more meaningful playstyle variety due to how you devote yourself to different resource types.
Altogether, Wynncraft does a lot of decent things, but is simply not worth my time over playing other games.
yes! comparing to actual games, Wynncraft still feels a bit lacking. It's mostly only worth playing because *it's in Minecraft*. It does have quite the world and there is a story to follow if you wanted to pay enough attention to it.

wynncraft sort of just feels like terraria with the fast-ish progression rate and the crazy animations and texture packs, and i'd rather play terraria than play something that feels like its a totally different game to minecraft. that's why i play hypixel skyblock - it feels more minecrafty as it doesn't force a texture pack with oversized items that can feel overwhelming to a new player. skyblock feels very comforting as it feels just like minecraft with a developed progression system.

there's no main quest line in Wynncraft, instead you have many many stories and lore bits that develop the world you're exploring. There's no main quest line, so this means you're free to explore in whatever way you want. it's pretty interesting game design, giving the player the freedom to do as they choose. I believe there should be *some* sort of main quest line, but it still wouldn't need to be necessary, which is similar to how things are now
There's actually not really a main story. There are many cool side stories and lore bits like the infection in Wynn, the mechs of Corkus, the magic of Gavel, the time valley, the dwarves, the dungeon bosses, Bob, Fruma, the Troms jungle, the tower of ascension, the realm of light and realm of darkness, the wormholes, the orcs, etc. Most regions have a collection of secrets, and once you find all in an area, a final secret that reveals a big part of lore. Two that come to mind are figuring out the Almuj desert covers a huge empire, drowned in sand after the emperor's staff was stolen, or how the province of Gavel set to sea and found the war-torn province of Wynn.
Overall, although there really isn't a main story, learning about most of the things I mentioned and many others, especially like Bob, is an amazing experience for a minecraft server. Extra especially since it has no mods and is *free* to anyone

I've got to say, really well put together video, but I completely disagree on the content dryness from my recent replay through of the game. I've specifically started playing wynn again doing only the content book and NOT grinding mobs whatsoever, and I've gotten to level 92 already without having to grind a single one. Full page and some of activities left to do in the book! If you'd play through another class this way, you'll be pleasantly suprised to learn that the wynn team has actually made the tedious mob grinding optional!
This is of course to say I have only done each dungeon 1 single time as well
impressive! Yea, I made this video right around the time that update dropped so I had not wrote the script with experience of the new update. My lets play series is gonna capture a more "up-to-date" kind of feel once I start getting back on that. Cave XP is amazing and the content book is an awesome tool to give players a "there is stuff to do" feeling

wynncraft is a very replayable game, even if you only want to play the endgame stuff you can stick to it for quite a long time (just please dont nolife it and get burnt out)
i would like professions but gathering and crafting levels are separate from each other which is why i dont do profs myself as it basically needlessly doubles the time it takes to craft some of the best endgame gear yourself. if gathering and crafting levels were the same, then it would be worth it

As a no life yes, it is unhealthy to no life on a game that you will burn out from due to no lifeing too hard
personally not a fan of the available content. Stuff like Wars is very unrewarding and Raids get tiring after you've played hundreds with all 5 classes. The new lootrun feature is nice but they focused too much on the end Reward Chest rather than making the Lootrun itself the best part. I might or might not make a video on the topic: "What would you change in Wynncraft?"
my only gripe is that wynncraft is just a giant middle finger to anyone with arachnophobia. while yes, most of the spider content is skippable, it will severely slow down progress and make max forge speedruns impossible. call me a wimp all you want, but as someone with absolutely horrible arachnophobia, the custom texture pack making everything more realistic does NOT help in the slightest.

i like how HSB has it to where you can sometimes fish up some insane monster. i feel like Wynn could totally make profs more interesting individually rather than making them all a boring gather node
