Anything that gets more people appreciating Bob DeCrescenzo's games is a plus to me!!! His games really pulled me into the 7800 and that got me much more seriously into Atari...
This is genuinely the first time since the Bushnell era that Atari has been an interesting company and not a sinking ship. It genuinely feels like he's just picking up where Atari left off before the crash in the mid 80s
This new Atari is just amazing. They understand some smaller projects, that won't bring much money, create a cultura of a fanbase, that will then, bring BIG money to them, because they have a link to the brand, that can only be built if you put a brick at a time, and keep consumers happy. Just look at what Nintendo does. That said, I hope Microsoft someday, sells the Activision old IPs to Atari, that would be nice.
One of the smartest things modern Atari did was acquire Digital Eclipse. I would LOVE to see a new version of Food Fight done as a twin-stick shooter! 🕹
I really liked this interview. Wade Rosen seems like a really down to earth guy, and I really think he is doing a lot of good for Atari. I hope that Yars Rising does really well for them and opens the door to more new games based on classic Atari IPs.
What's astounding is that just a few years ago, Atari was a bigger joke than ever with the whole debacle of the VCS. And Wade Rosen has managed to step in and turn the entire ship around and turn Atari into one of the most interesting companies in games these days. He has such an amazing pulse on exactly what people love about Atari and its legacy. Straight up re-releasing the 2600 was such a ballsy move but it proved that he understands that that console has been a major lifeblood of the company since its earliest days. I truly can't wait to see where they go from here.
I've really been digging the new age Atari stuff. Started noticing it relatively recently and got way into Mr Run & Jump. Put a lot of stuff on my wishlist. Keep it up 👍
Great interview! Love the things Atari has been doing for the past several years and can't wait to see what else is coming in the future. Long live Atari!
If only Wade Rosen understood that there are Atari fans WORLDWIDE and not just in the United States. Atari still won’t ship the vast majority of their products to other countries (including the upcoming 7800+ and the new cartridges).
@@Zoyx You are right. Wouldn't be surprised if WayForward was Atari's next acquisition though, depending on how well it goes with Yars Rising, Let's hope it goes well but first impressions are they don't understand the IP or target audience too well, or they had something already in development and they're trying to make it fit the Yars theme. Hoping for the best.
Not only was Atari never “gaming’s oldest company,” the current Atari isn’t even the same as the one that started in the 70s. It died decades ago and the name and rights have been bought and sold multiple times by multiple unrelated companies over the years.
Who has been making VIDEO GAMES longer than Atari?? 🤔 We’re aware that Nintendo has been around since the 1800’s but they made playing cards and board games until the late 1970’s. And Sega has been around since 1960 but they made “electromechanical” games until the early 80’s. So yes, Atari *IS* the oldest company to make strictly video games throughout their entire history.

I find this guy super impressive and I am very impressed with his approach to growing the Atari brand.
I'm so grateful Wade Rosen is in charge of Atari. I'm definitely enjoying what they have been doing with him in charge.

Wade Rosen has done more for Atari than anyone since Nolan Bushnell.
What a way to overlook basically every single thing they created that ultimately made Atari what it is as a brand.

Wade is doing some great things. This is a good time to be an Atari fan. I just hope they don’t forget about the VCS. It’s a great fun console.
Agreed I love mine as a newbie. Souped it up and runs great
I really hope that Atari can slowly grow both its library and its output of games.
Im really into what theyve been doing the past few years by keeping the retro scene going strong.
Slowly but surely, considered and reverant. Very good. don't stop now.

Thanks for doing this

You guys have done a great job so far. Very nice seeing you all turn the ship around. Keep it up!

So glad he rescued the Intellivision brand from those Amico idiots
Great interview - i went in skeptical but now im feeling pretty jazzed for ataris future
I love seeing that Wade is taking Atari/Infogrames back into a good direction after the past decade of mistakes from past leaderships.
Did Wade just say Kings Field?! Hell yeah 🤘🕹️
Wait, did he just say Hexen! 🤘👾🤘
Bubsy!
This guy seems really cool, I’m glad he’s so passionate
Restoring and/or remaking Ogre Battle and Kings Field would be amazing, Wade
this guys great what about the VCS
I really hope we get an Intellivision Plus.

that's why they didn't make a 5200+. It was a USA only product. Distribution can be outsourced if that's the best choice.
Wade Rosen please I ask of you release a Atari cosmos mini or Atari cosmos + I'd buy one for me and my dad
Cool interview
That was amazing.
Bring back “Demolition Racer” from the original PlayStation and Dreamcast in a re-release published under the Infogrames brand.
He said trackball!!!!
Thanks!!!
Wade Rosen: "We just want to give fans what they want"
Phil Spencer: "Nah - that'll never work"
Make a Atari VCS 2 . This could absolutely be a success . I love my VCS it only lacked true direction .
I like wade but where is the mini Lynx and Jaguar?!
Good job
What?
Atari bought Nightdive when did that happen?
March 2023.
What's is this company and why did they turn Yars into anime? Not sure they are a fit for Atari.
@@redleader7988 - Nightdive did not develop Yars Rising.

I heard this new version of Atari is involved with the French Mafia
What’s the pathway forward to propel atari financially? The emulator legacy stuff is only going to go so far for so long. What’s the next big plan
Surely their aquisitions are already yielding financial increases. I haven't looked at their statements myself, but I will.

Atari still around?
Nintendo is over 100 years old.
Yes, as a playing card company. Nintendo didn’t start making video games until a decade after Atari.

Atari was founded in 1972 and SOLD to Warner in 1976...almost everything everyone remembers as 'Atari'....wasn't the original anyway.
Wait what company hasn't been sold multiple times over the last 50 years?
