i don't understand (4.7) because why does it strictly go through the origin? like can't the y-value at x=0 be anything above zero? for example (0;1) or (0;2), etc. because it would be the xintercept and still have one root
For it to be an x intercept it has to touch the x-axis once u say (0,1) you are no longer touching the x-axis since you've shifted your grap up. At (0,1) it will simply be the y-intercept
