Love this, Lydia! I would say we have fairly similar style and I managed to travel around Europe for 6 weeks with carry-on only (including the UK, so very much trans-seasonal!). Now that I have a child, this is no longer an option but I would also 100% recommend carry-on only travel, adopting a ‘capsule wardrobe’ style approach. The key items were tailored trousers, straight leg jeans, lightweight silky cami tops, one light shacket (worn on plane), 2 pairs sandals, one pair heeled sandals and one pair of sneakers and several dresses. A mix of earrings meant I was able to vary my looks enough. Personally I relish the challenge and it’s so worth it for the ease of travel and the money saved on budget airlines! I also brought my MacBook for work and a Turkish towel, GHD and a hefty selection of makeup and toiletries (mini MUJI bottles are my MVP’s). Happy travels everyone x

I really love the De Rococo top that you are wearing. You look fab...rested and glowing! The whole outfit is tres chic! I will be traveling to Europe soon from Canada for a couple of weeks, so trying to soak up as much advice as I can about packing. Thank you!
I'm in love with the black, open shoulder top!! Tahari also has an elasticized, well-draped, silk (but I think theirs are actually polyester--but highest quality spin) wide leg pant in black and also in gold. The style is a really great staple for your reasons mentioned. Dress up, or down, or lounge at home. I catch thier sales, and never been disappointed, although I always invest in hemming, bc they come long. (I'm 5'6"). Great basics silks there, also, thinner, "drapey-er" (?) than the mulberry silk. But still totally washable at home.

Although I wish you'd posted this a few weeks ago before I did England for 2 weeks with only hand luggage, I did utilize many of the tips you've shared in the past when I packed. Mix and match pieces, neutral colors, and layers helped me keep things manageable on my travels! ☺️

Hi Lydia. Packing is always a bit of a nightmare for me. This year I was on a 6 week holiday to the U.K. and the weather is always unpredictable. I try so hard to keep things to a minimum but it’s nearly always a case of my toiletries weighing the most! I use a cruelty free skin care brand which is unavailable in England and to be honest, I begrudge paying out for a new range which may not suit my skin type. I think it’s so much easier to pack when the climate is more consistent but advice on ‘less is more ‘is very useful! As always, you look really gorgeous in your holiday outfits.💖🌸

The thing I struggle the most when packing for a trip is not space, but wrinkling. That's why I always pack fabrics that won't crease, which is a bit restrictive but oh well. How do you keep your clothes in such good condition after hours of being crammed inside a suitcase?
I use tissue paper to wrap clothes in! Always pack my shoes in a bag because shoes are so dirty, so why would you throw them on top of your clean clothes!🤔💕
When I travel I unpack right away and hang my clothes on the shower rail. Turn the shower head down away from your cloths and turn it on hot. Close the bathroom door and let them steam for 10 minutes. No need to waste space bringing a steamer…
putting the small bag into the bigger one is smart for carry on. The structure of the larger one is perfect size. (You and Tim make a beautiful couple).

a portable clothes steamer is all you need dear

Roll them and you have a good chance that your clothes don't wrinkle too much and...you gain space in your travel bag or suitcase.
