I do this all the time. Same with if I see a sprout in a fight and their HP is very low. I'm not a fan of Bozja, but I do like how nice people are there in getting to someone who needs a rez.

This is a product of people playing with a controller right? Only just returned after beta and never noticed, this is also not a thing in other MMOs I've played.
As a healer, never use rescue EXCEPT to troll your friends. Seriously, I've never seen it used well in duty finder, most people will take it as disrespect, it doesn't help people learn, and if it's a BLM you could be screwing up everything they're trying to do.
@@thevoxdeus ive used it several times in crystal tower raid whenever i see someone struggling to catch up to the pads. usually melee players. you can definitely use it in PUG groups. i agree that you shouldnt rescue BLM though, most of the time theyre already aware of their imminent demise
Absolutely agree. I can only wish that more people allow others to watch the boss movies. This was a sore-spot/paranoia for me, because it happened multiple times while I was DPS and was in my first few months of playing. I'm sure many have queued for daily roulettes, but there ARE new players, even now, and when they come out of the video to see everyone else already "in", I guarantee they'll start skipping the scenes and some are actually fun to watch (for some people, at least). :( (This is also part of why I just go with the Trust team, for the most part, now)
@@chrismurphy4952 Me! I’m a new player and was on discord with my healer who is my mentor and we had two people from duty finder. @@Pick3WinningTicket - Yeah, honestly it would be nice if they could add in a mechanic where you could have 1 or 2 people in a group join you and then fill it out with a Trust NPC. Then, like in your case, you could have your friend AND the cutscenes.

I'm so glad this is a thing because i am new to the game and I didn't know this at the time but in my very first dungeon while I and the rest of the party were watching a cutscene and getting loot, the tank ran off and pulled multiple mobs. And I typed in chat after he died "this is what happens when you don't wait" as the mobs bore down and killed the rest of us
I have macro'd "Don't skip, just let me die!" For if I screw up as tank. It's easy to mess up and forget this is someone else's first time 30 times into a dungeon but that doesn't mean they should suffer. That's on me.
@@sendicard That is really cool and you deserve a lot of respect for that. I've had it happen quite a few times, but most of them have been that same kind of situation, only a couple have been from someone just being a jerk, and honestly, as someone who in a lot of mmos with my best friend, would rather run in myself to take the aggro so she could live (in a bad situation where we knew death was coming lol) it killed me all those times standing outside the lockout and not healing rofl.
As a sprout healer I was watching a cutscene and the rest of the group did not want to wait. I came out of the cutscene to a warp prompt, a dead tank, a dead dps, and the bard almost dead. Honestly they didn't deserve me fixing that.
When I was going through the Thousand Maws for story my group killed the boss while I was in the cutscene. I went from cutscene, to victory scene without a break. Though I think that one yanks the first couple people into the boss room.
Started in mid Heavensward, first normal raid i did was Coils, had the same group for all of the tiers and they were adamant about letting me take my time and watch the cutscenes....told me to take as many screenshots as i wanted to, I’ll never forget that group!
I started about 2 and half weeks ago and in one of the low level dungeons on the last boss, the one with a spider thing where an npc talks to you for a very long time. They killed the boss AND left before I was done lol. I was like.. well at least they didnt boot me from the group for just standing around watching movies. /shrug =/ edit @Wolfgang Hype, same one as me I believe.
Too keep this simple I don't pull the last boss of any dungeon until all four people are in the arena. The cutscene hard stops you well before crossing the purple line.
As a sprout.... one thing that would be great is if I could give commendations during the cutscenes after a boss. I don't know how many times in ARR i finished a boss, there was an automatic cutscene, and then everyone was gone and I couldn't give a commendation to anyone.
there is a way to turn off the cutscenes after you already watch it. so if you are doing a dungeon that you already done, then you dont have to see the victory pose again.
Unwritten Rule: Everyone is new to the content once, so never assume everyone knows all the mechanics at any time, especially in the first week of a new Raid or Trial.
Them sprout tanks make me giggle sometimes watching them constantly run around the mobs lol. Or when the ranged dps thinks they're "kiting" but they're not using bind skills and they're just running around getting hit. Oh my god i had that issue with someone on the day after Seat of Sacrifice released. Mind you I don't mean the EX. This dude got so pissed off at us for not knowing what we're doing in the fight on our first time running it in the story. Was sad day
I try to take the piss out of people who are the "watch the video" type the first two weeks of a raid. Usually something super sarcastic like "How *DARE* you not watch a video for something that has been out for less than 24 hours!!!!!"
Also, if you don't do some serious content like current savage or extreme, and a dancer picked you (a drg) as their dance partner... give them the first eye
@@Confuseddalek - Indeed! In the case of Flying, I try to "cross the finish line" like it was a race (a flying race specifically), so I'll swoop downwards before the zone line. XD

Yeah the "let people finish cutscenes" thing was big for me. I was finishing up the ARR story and the final dungeon had a pretty massive cutscene, and when I finished it I learned that the rest of the team had aggro'd nearby enemies, brought them to my location, and then got me killed. Kinda weird that people are grinding story mission dungeons but expecting new people to skip the cutscene and "watch it on TH-cam after the dungeon", but okay.
If they want to run without sprouts they can. They can make premade party and all. So don't worry about it. If anyone queues for random and gets a sprout he has to respect it. If he doesn't want to, it is his own problem, because he has the ability to form party other ways and make premade parties as well.
My brother used to have a "friend" who lost his mind I *both* watched cutscenes AND read dialogue, he ended up joining, leaving, asking my brother if I had done the instance already, and if yes wanted a new invite 😂
"Don't run around like a headless chicken" This one bears repeating Please Please for the love of god Just bring the mobs to me Let me help you Its my job Please
Yeah, my unspoken rule as a tank is if you attack it before I can even 'pull', I'll allow you to tank until half of your health is depleted. That or you bring it to me. Most impatient players get the idea when they realize I let them 'reap what they sow' when their health gets low and I am over in a different area 'tanking'.
When i play my first char, i was being taught by a tank player. The first rule her taught me was " when your targetted and it is not a mechanic, run to your tank."
Me and my friend, tank and healer sprouts, were watching the cutscene before the final dungeon boss and we saw indications that the fight had started. We let them die :)
ironic how they started to fight to speed things up because they didnt want to wait for you and made the entire thing take longer due to them being impatience
There was one time this happened when I was in a dungeon. Another player was jumping around and accidentally pulled the boss.... the tank was the one watching a cut scene
There's really only 1 dungeon I could sort of give them a pass on idr what the name was it was the one with the photocells.. Many a time have I seen someone pull the boss because they took 1 step too close and get sucked in

2:56 I started FFXIV this week, and I was in a dungeon (the manor thing ? somewhere around lv30) and I was watching cinematic and when I got control of my character, I saw that the tank had started the boss, realised I wasn't there, and written a good 10 lines of apology in the chat haha Coming from other games (such as Lol), it's very nice to see a community that actually understands that new players want to watch cinematics and stuff
@@BulborbStare I remember a similar thing happening without a Tank since they were watching the cutscene. We still beat it, but the fight was close. Made me feel bad we didn't wait on them though.
Me too! When I started playing I had a similar experience with a nice tank apologizing for not waiting. I was so shocked, coming from WoW where people are a lot more likely to be cold and irritated.
I'm a sprout and a gladiator, and I actually missed one bossfight completely because I wanted to watch the important cutscene and one guy with the guns decided he wanted to be the tank, so the rest of the team beat the boss before I finished the cutscene :| I know it was a low level dungeon and he was probably just trying to speed through it but jesus have some respect
I had the exact same thing, i got a level up mid cutscene because of it and then after the cutscene played, it immediately played the of the boss dying.
Im pretty sure you're talking about The Jaws of Toto Rak dungeon, because its known for its infamously long cutscenes and short boss fight so no one really waits for the sprouts to finish. It happened with me too 😅
It also doubles as fun practice for setting waymarks efficiently! Make a game out of spelling cid (or as mentioned, dicbag) before he blows up the door!
Here's one (I know it's rare): Don't instantly rage on people for making one mistake, regardless of their experience. Sprout or mentor, everyone makes mistakes and you have no idea what their status is atm in regards to IRL stuff or just having forgotten mechanics because it's been so long.
Yh this is a good one, I have pernicious anaemia, which affects my concentration, its rare it’ll effect how I play but when tanking if I accidentally run I’ve probably knocked autorun, I have long fingers so keyboards are cramped for me, and I knock the wrong key occasionally when my brain isn’t 100% same when I use stun instead of an aoe lol

I missed the end boss on a few of the first dungeons because i honestly thought people would get mad i was holding them up now i just say fuck it and watch them.... the transition from WoW to FF has been a weird one.
I've only had it done once so far. It was on the boss and I'm playing healer so...that was on them lol. I was super surprised though when it ended and someone had already run into the room.
i had that happening to me on the early dungeon where lahabrea summons a scorpion. cool cutscene, when it finished the fight was over. and i was the tank.
I cannot stress enough the unspoken rule of letting the new players watch their cutscenes. The impatience that people can have with sprouts watching cutscenes is why we now have an MSQ Roulette where you can't skip the cutscenes. For those who don't know, MSQ Roulette actually did once allow cutscene skipping, but because nobody was patient with anyone, here we are. MSQ cutscenes we can't skip, and a Gaius speech that is drilled into our DNA at this point. The game has a great story, so let the sprouts experience it.
Pay attention to party chat in dungeons. Don't be the tank who ignores "Put tank stance on" spammed in chat because you forgot. Also, don't miss "BRB phone" or "BRB Door". Use Commendations. There's a challenge log entry for it. And people appreciate a "GJ"
Same goes for if you are the tank and the healer is asking you to use cooldowns or do smaller pulls. In fact just dont assume that healers are okay with big pulls unless they say so

Same here. I just started playing last week. I am loving it so far but this game is kind of overwhelming there is so much to it. So much more than any MMO I have ever played. I have been binging on videos like this and class guides to try to not embarrass myself or annoy others.
"Some people are just jump-happy" I've played video games too long not to randomly jump if i have the ability to. If there's nothing else to do while walking down a corridor, im jumping.
In older SWTOR, sometimes where you were standing was different on client/server side, jumping forced server refresh. This mainly happend to people with high latencies or packet loss (i was one of them, jumping was mandatory for me to evade aoes).
Two from a newbie sprout: For the love of all lalas, please stand in the helpful blue circle of heals. Most healers are strategic where we place them and when you run out of them we cry and murder lalas. If you die during a fight...please take the rez. We burn swiftcast to rez you so when you don't take it....we rage. Raging healers are scary...you have been warned
Once I was doing hunts late at night and triggered a boss fate. It killed me so fast I didn't even know what it was or that I was dead; I just couldn't figure out why I couldn't target the hunt marks nearby, or why my attacks weren't working 🤦♀️ Some kind soul asked me to join their party but by that point I was so confused and panicked that I opted to go to my home aetheryte. Only then did I see in that same kind soul in the chat, asking me to accept the rez. I'm on PS4 so I labored to apologize and thank them for trying but naturally they didn't respond and I'm still haunted by that incident. 😅
I wait until there's no AoE and the player has stabilized the tanks before I take the rez. Ain't no worth if the healer forgets about you after hitting that swiftcast + raise combo and acts like you never existed immediately after.
I just started playing and have no idea what I'm doing. What does blue circle of heal look like? Also what are you supposed to do when you die: lay there or go to the beginning of dungeon?
I am really tolerant to people learning to play the game and heal them without complaint. But there are 0 excuses given for not accepting a raise. Please accept the raise as soon as the box pops up. Using a swift cast and 2600 no for someone not to accept the raise for 15 seconds is aweful.

That method actually makes more sense. Also, probably helps that they use macros for party placement / strats so it's quicker to find out what they need to do, as opposed to requiring a description in a PF listing.
@@sneakytrip6594 I mean, whether it's spelled out in PF or macro'd in chat, some people just ain't gonna read XD (also, PF description is efficient in that it can weed people out before they even join the party, it they read it.)
Most important one there is: If you’re new to a fight and all of your teammates are standing in one place: you stand there too. IGNORE how much dmg your next attack will do, or how much healing will get done, just drop everything and RUN to be where you need to be. Living > everything else
Honestly you can survive a lot of content blind just by being aware of where your party is. If you see a lot of ranged/healers preemptive move to one spot (never trust melee, they'll almost always greed uptime) it's a safe bet you probably wanna be there.
I've been doing this for all of the harder raids/trials and it always works. Before the fight I always look at what other dps players are doing, kind of like I'm performing a school dance without practicing lmao
yep....I even join with another player (a lalafel) doing the havest dance for a bard playing a very harvest like medieval music .....obviously I was in Limsa
I'm a Healer... 1) When the Fate is over, and everyone runs leaving the healer with aggro on non FATE adds that are left over...not cool. Finish off the adds even if they aren't part of the FATE, I sometimes bind them for later so we can focus on the FATE, only to be left killing them alone. 2) Also, When you take a Rez, don't immediately join the fight (remember you can move as long as you don't do any action you are immortal for 5 seconds). Give the healer a few of those IMMORTAL seconds to get an extra heal on you so you won't get 1 shotted, otherwise you wasted their rez dying again that was better used on someone else. 3) When you have the stack marker on you (Golden arrows moving toward you from both sides), run in towards the group/tank, but when you stop, don't move again UNLESS some AOE mechanic appears on the floor, then of course you have to move out of it. Healers will stop on you and begin their long casts, and if you move again you break their casts trying to follow. Same logic on tanks doing large mob pulls, if you stop then stop. Don't stop for 2 full seconds and decide to go get another mob, the healer has already positioned themselves and began their casts. They will both break their cast and lose ground on you trying to catch back up. If a Boss has a mechanic that takes 20 seconds to explain, it's better to explain it before the first pull then after the first wipe.
Hah, I remember I hadn't even -seen- the stack icon until Susano'o and I kept running away with and went 'holy balls how is anyone except the tank supposed to handle that?!' Someone was kind enough to enlighten me that about how that was -supposed- to work. XD * and yeah, parties steamrolled everything to that point so I just never saw the mechanic.
The party ran off while I was watching my cutscene. I got lost and no one would even respond to requests for help to catch up with the party. So, I ended up leaving the party, and hopped in queue again. Another 30 minute wait and got into a new party. They did nothing but gripe and complain because I wanted watched the cutscenes, even though at least they didn't leave me stranded. After that I left the game. I don't need that kind of crap in a game. Its a real shame as I really enjoyed FFXIV but I won't be going back again.
here's one: as a healer, don't be petty and refuse to heal your tank when they fuck up, especially if you're running a low-level duty. that serves no purpose other than making your tank feel bad and getting the party killed lol
@@Corrodias yeah, one-up that tank by showing him how a true healer handles things. Keep everyone alive and throw some damage in there for good measure. When I tank and I know I screwed up but, in the end I didn't die, that healer is def getting a comm.
Flip side of this; If your healer notices you aren't using cool downs, or aren't using them until you are very low hp, or don't understand how reprisal and arms length work, listen (as long as they are offering respectful advice) instead of saying not using cool downs is your "play style." I still heal these tanks because I want to finish the dungeon, but they are blacklisted immediately afterwards. Having to be a heal bot in a dungeon makes the game not fun for most competent healers, especially considering a tank can use cool downs effectively without losing anything at all. But a healer loses so much by having to do nothing but heal bot. This game is not wow and it shouldn't be played like it is. There's also this belief that healers are either damage healers or heal only healers and that is simply not true. Competent healers can do both and they lose nothing as long as they follow their abcs (always be casting) and keep their mana regen abilities on cool down.

3:37 a small correction: If you're in a raid and see someone jumping up and down, they're either showing you the safe spot where you should be, or they are a Dragoon. If they're jumping off a cliff, they're definitely a Dragoon.
When you get Cape Westwind for trial roulette, you must either: A. Immediately say gg before it's even pulled B. If there is a sprout, hype up super difficult mechanics that don't exist
I do this every single time. My favorite was when I told a sprout Tank to use LB3 at the beginning and they were so confused when we killed the dude in like 2 seconds XD
I have a set of waymarkers and usually end up calling SW - W float as soon as we load in. That usually gets people ready to meme while the sprout is watching the cutscene. I did have it backfire once were the sprout was just terrified and apologized for being new before even starting to cast. I felt so bad for them that I stayed until they were done with the cutscene to explain the meme and told them they did great.
this happened my first time on that fight. my sister said she wanted to do it with me and started to hype how hard it was. Scared me sooo much, and the fight started and i targeted him and he died.
Here's one - if your tank is brand new, and you are a healer....please don't run ahead and start pulling for the tank. If they're going slow, it's because they are brand new and don't want to be the reason the entiry party wipes. Source: me, crying as my healer runs ahead in The Wanderer's Palace while I try and fail to catch up
This is right. Most tanks know, what they can handle and there is everytime a reason, why the don't do bigpulls. Especially WHMs have to much trust in theier "Holy+Benediction Rotation".
Yeah, I actually have a macro (two, actually) for when I tank. 1 - I am a relatively new tank 2 - I have not done this dungeon before or frequently enough to go crazy with it That's been great and everyone DOES say, "No problem, take your time". :-)
As far as I'm concerned, the tank sets the pace. I've let the satellite puller get to low health before pulling agro off before. For some reason they get pissy after that.
Doesn't matter if the tank's new. As the healer, and especially as the DPS, it is not your responsibility to know what the tank "can" or "can't" handle. All it does is screw up the rhythm of the pulls and make the whole run even slower. Source: a vet player playing on a new alt character, knowing I couldn't pull wall-to-wall in Tam-Tara because said alt had exactly one defensive cooldown available and our DPS players had limited AoE skills, and having to deal with a healer with this particular failing.
Even though I'm not a new player, been playing since 2013, I am new to tanking and I was running Dohn Mheg last year, I pulled one pack at a time because I was still levelling up my pala and could really only handle one pack at a time. The healer then went and pulled the other pack (mentor btw), then as I expected...we died, I called him an idiot and explained why I was pulling one pack at a time. I got no response, he continued to pull other packs, I got sick of it and left the dungeon. He actually reported me for abuse.
As someone who just started playing about 2 months ago: Don't pull massively as a warrior tank on lvl ≤29 dungeons... My poor Scholar only has one healing move and one little fairy dude that embrace you when she feels like it :(
Yeah I feel that, it's why I don't play Scholar anymore and just level it up with Summoner. Scholar is fun in the first couple of dungeons cause you don't have to do a thing, 30+ dungeons is a sharp learning curve with very little practice. Astro and White Mage are still the better healers, but I'll have to go back to Scholar at some point myself, maybe after the next DLC is out since it's gonna change how the base class seems to work.
ya u have to take into consideration dungeon lvl, player, experience, and what level the character is in what class. I doo feel like everyone should keep an eye on what level groups certain classes struggle with
@@Kakachi07 not at max level lol even when you posted that SCH was top healer in terms of healing and DPS and fairly sure it still is =P love sch though, not as complex as astro but has an answer for literally everything and a near unmatched ability to top off a full group from a charybdis style 1HP attack to full HP in 1-2 GCDs
Rule all us wow-implants need to know: Everyone is a casual, embrace it and slow down. Despite being the same genre it's a completely different pacing and feel than most other "rush to max level and the game starts". Took a bit of getting used to but it's so nice now haha
I spent TWO weeks trying to clear o9s (Omega 9, Savage). I only went to work, played o9s, and then to bed, work, o9s, bed, work, o9s, bed. For full two weeks. Not everyone is a casual for sure lol. Also, o9s is awesome. I don't have any regrets.

One of my favorite screenshots is Female Elezen me standing in the middle of my lovely three Lalafell dungeon children. I would die for them in a heartbeat.
I have many lala friends. As a lala myself I will purposely que with 2 other lala in hopes the rando is someone tall so I can call them mom/dad the whole dungeon. Best one so far was a cat boy who ended up in aurum veil with us. He was a great sport
I do remember being Miqo'te in a dungeon with three Lala newbies. I really felt like a kindergarten teacher, talking them through the dungeon (it was TamTara Deepcroft). It was fun, though, and they were great players. :)
Thank you for the cutscene thing. As a sprout I HATE feeling constantly rushed in dungeons. I always watch cutscenes and I'm not going to run by and ignore a chest in a corner because you can't be arsed to stop for two seconds. I did as many duties as possible with the NPCs so I could actually, yanno, experience the game. Once I was just in a random duty finder dungeon and I needed a few seconds to stop because my cat was bothering me, but even though I asked in chat for a minute nobody waited and I got left behind. Now I am level 65 and done all the ARR content I always wait for people who are lagging behind no matter what the reason.
I usually try and hand them out to people who stood out. That Dragoon kept Dragon Eye up on another player consistently? Commendation. That dude made a comment that made me smile? Commendation. That healer who saved my ass with rescue? I wish I could give you more than one commendation.
Thanks. As a new player i found these tremendously helpful. I also feel less guilty about watching the cutscenes and don't feel the need to apologize for keeping other people waiting.
I'm a sprout WHM, just finished ARR, if someone pulls the boss while I'm watching cutscene for the first time, than it might be wipe cause I ain't skippin. :P
I had someone pull the boss while I was watching the cutscene and I got locked out of the boss room. I was the tank! I felt bad until later, then I just realized everyone sees when you are watching a cut scene and those guys were just dumb jerks.
I'm a new Final Fantasy XIV player, and on my first time through a dungeon, the tank pulled as I was watching a cutscene, and subsequently he and one of the fighters died and had to respawn because I'm the healer. He was cool about it, though. He apologized and said he didn't realize the healer (me) was watching a cutscene until he was about to die.
That happens sometimes. There us an option to skip cutscense you've already watched and if you've been playing a while you have that option on. I try to remember but once I a while I forget to make sure everyone is done with the cutscene before a pull.
I had the group pull and beat the final boss, while their healer (me) was still watching the cutscene about big bad dude in a mask... Power to them, I guess...
The Behemoth jump thing is a throwback to standing around Corthas waiting for the Behemoth FATE to pop, get on your little behemoth to summon the big one.
unwritten & perpetually ignored crystal tower rule: don't pull the LoA atmos until everyone is in position bonus: if someone does this, don't get mad at the alliance who got shorted for not standing on the platform
Ahh... If you "teleport to fight area" cause they pulled when you were still running, you will get teleported to A regardless of your team. Dont start until everyone is in their side of battle area; applicable to loa and wod.
During Alliance raids, I think it’s just common courtesy to wait for the entire alliance (A, B, C), not just your own group to arrive before starting. I’ve been thru a few where people see that their group is ready and immediately start while the other 2 groups are still waiting.
If you are a Red Mage in a raid, time your limit break with an evasion mechanic to try to kill as many of your so-called 'allies' as you can. Waiting to be rezzed will give their retinas the time they need to recover.
Whenever I'm in a 24 man (Ivalice or dun scaith) and I see the giant circle appear, I just run away and zoom in on my Char's back cause I know what's about to happen.

Yeah! Isn’t A often in the middle for one of the bosses in...void ark? I think? Not that people really care about the assignments for that fight. Or maybe I’m totally wrong!
I wish I knew. By the time I did it, it was already a joke of a raid (unlike wiping city or death scaith) Although we almost wiped recently at the port ventilator because no alliance split
@@cocobunitacobuni8738 Me, I didn't understand how Alliance raids worked the first time so I genuinely just walked down the first path that I seen and went feral, thankfully I've learned, but since I was a tank, yeah I got some shit for it lol
Yea, don't. I skipped a lot when I started for this reason and missed some content, but people are pretty chill about it these days. They can always dick around with their inventory or something. If you want to watch it, do so, the majority of people will be cool about it.
Wait, you guys actually leave the computer to go do stuff to make the cutscenes tolerable? I always get scared I won't have long enough to make myself a toast
it should be an unwritten rule that you should understand that not everyone standing in aoes is doing it on purpose. When my lag gets bad enough sometimes the aoes wont even show up until I'm already on the floor.
Honestly if the tank is doing their job right and DPS's aren't standing in AOE's the only person that needs heals should be the Tank, just the same I cast AOE Regen on everyone all the time so I can focus on keeping the tank up.
I just started this game and I was in the ice dragon dungeons (idk the name) and the tank pulled so many enemies I was spamming cure 2 and he still died but he said sorry and was a good tank after that 1 incident
love it when a sprout tank who watched some guides does wall to wall pulls but saves all his CD's for the next boss while i play the healer-piano and try to save him
Unwritten Rule #158: If you shout for a rez and someone comes and resurrects you make sure to say thank you or at least offer a bow or some emote of gratitude. Don't just run off.
Unwritten Rule: Healers do DPS. in FFXIV every job is a DPS with different utility. The novice hall teaches you this. The job quests teaches you this. And a healer DPSing is active mitigation as well, such as holy or dealing more damage to skip the troublesome mechanics entirely. This is something a lot of new players just can't wrap their heads around even when several tutorials tell them this.
@himura kenshin Measly? Healers do roughly 60-70% of a DPS's damage? That's not measly or trivial by any margin. But, I do agree that their first and foremost role is to heal. But even in ultimates healer casts dedicated to heals is only 16-22% (Taken from an average survey about a year and a half ago). If even in ultimates only 20% of your spells are healing spells...you can DPS. It's even less in other content, so there isnt a valid excuse to not DPS. They even teach you in the novice hall to DPS when you can. There is zero excuse to not do so and to omit a large portion of your kit. Was your healer bad? Yes. But they also aren't *wrong* to DPS. They just forgot to also heal. That's player error.
@himura kenshin True. If you're a healer; heal damn it. I'm sick of doing trials with my AST, and the other damn healer for doing dps, don't heal anyone. I expect a hard nerf for all healer classes. I hate them, especially the damn WHMs. If you want to compete for the FCKING dps, then create a dps class. But don't leave the job of curing or keep alive 8 people to someone else.
@himura kenshin That's bullshit, try doing any Savage run without the Healer or Tanks doing DPS lol... good luck with the checks, even with 4 BLM's doing their best.
@himura kenshin only time you'll see a healer not doing any dps is when there is a huge pull by the tank (gotta keep him alive) but some raids for exemple are just impossible if only dps deals damages
We had 5/8 people down in Yotsuyu's fight when I did it the first time and it felt so clutch to get LB3 off as a healer and get everyone back, with only 20% HP left to go, but sadly people all went down again anyway cause still most of the party hadn't figured out how to dodge her fans. u_u
I've been having Chrysalis come up as my daily trial roulette nearly every day for the last couple of weeks as new sprouts are filtering through. I've had to explain what a limit break was and when the DPS should use it on the tear so many times, only to have them fail to do it and need to WHM LB3 to bring everyone back to finish out the fight.
I had a clutch LB3 on Alexander Prime go off after the intermission got messed up and only half the raid was alive. We managed to beat it after that, making it feel extra powerful.
Unwritten rule. If you have entered the special overworld instances Eureka or the Bozjan Southern Front and can res, *PLEASE* do so, whether a player is in your party or not. Bozja has a special mechanic that punishes players for dying and both Eureka and Bozja harshly punish players for respawning without a res.
I know I'm late, but there is also achievements for raising people! So, if helping people out isn't your jam, there's always achievements! Also, you can swap classes in Bozjan with little limitations, so don't hesitate swapping to a healer and swiftcast raising people.

A lot of people queue in DF after their PF is around 6/8 ppl. Dont leave after one pull, like a burger king employee, you can affort one or two wipes Unless theyre french
I learned that a few weeks ago, because I'm on the free trial, can't use the LFG screen, and thought to myself how hard level 50 stuff could be since everyone breeze through the other dungeons. Still, after 6 wipes we cleared Ramuh Extreme with a bunch of first timers. Somehow.
@@NibelungJ it's doable with people who are all willing to learn and actually look at chat for the mentors/people who watched guides to explain. Unfortunately, there's at best like a 50% chance of that being the case. Unless it's Ifrit EX and then there's a 0% chance.
Tanks, when you have melee dps in your party, do your best to keep mob packs still and facing the same direction so that your melee have no problems hitting their positional weaponskills. It's especially important for Monks as almost all of their core combo weaponskills have positional riders. Try to only move when you need to avoid an aoe!

As a healer this is important. My bubble is put down to give the tanks and melee some extra staying power, i do this to allow me to start a dps burst, the circle is safe though and it means thats the area i want the damn fight in, dont pull it and those protected by my bubble away

When you do a Dungeon as a Mentor you last did 8 years ago but dont remember mecanics, then get instant rage :c

I've only had it done once so far. It was on the boss and I'm playing healer so...that was on them lol. I was super surprised though when it ended and someone had already run into the room.

In older SWTOR, sometimes where you were standing was different on client/server side, jumping forced server refresh. This mainly happend to people with high latencies or packet loss (i was one of them, jumping was mandatory for me to evade aoes).

Once I was doing hunts late at night and triggered a boss fate. It killed me so fast I didn't even know what it was or that I was dead; I just couldn't figure out why I couldn't target the hunt marks nearby, or why my attacks weren't working 🤦♀️
Some kind soul asked me to join their party but by that point I was so confused and panicked that I opted to go to my home aetheryte.

Most important one there is: If you’re new to a fight and all of your teammates are standing in one place: you stand there too. IGNORE how much dmg your next attack will do, or how much healing will get done, just drop everything and RUN to be where you need to be. Living > everything else

Hah, I remember I hadn't even -seen- the stack icon until Susano'o and I kept running away with and went 'holy balls how is anyone except the tank supposed to handle that?!'

This is one reason I love healing. If a sprout has a cutscenes and the tank pulls, I just stay with the sprout. Good luck with that boss fight..
here's one: as a healer, don't be petty and refuse to heal your tank when they fuck up, especially if you're running a low-level duty. that serves no purpose other than making your tank feel bad and getting the party killed lol
plus healing in low level duties you usually dont need to, do it anyway, dps and heal. You can be a heal bot and enjoy the ride
Right? When someone else fails to perform and it's a problem, making yourself an even bigger problem is an awfully strange kind of one-upsmanship.

The healer then went and pulled the other pack (mentor btw), then as I expected...we died, I called him an idiot and explained why I was pulling one pack at a time. I got no response, he continued to pull other packs, I got sick of it and left the dungeon. He actually reported me for abuse.

Sage also have issues around that level if tanks wanna mass pull. Probably worse since you can't both trigger kardia and cast healing until level 90.

I have many lala friends. As a lala myself I will purposely que with 2 other lala in hopes the rando is someone tall so I can call them mom/dad the whole dungeon. Best one so far was a cat boy who ended up in aurum veil with us. He was a great sport

He was cool about it, though. He apologized and said he didn't realize the healer (me) was watching a cutscene until he was about to die.

So nice! In how many other games would this just have resulted in insults? :-O
That happens sometimes. There us an option to skip cutscense you've already watched and if you've been playing a while you have that option on. I try to remember but once I a while I forget to make sure everyone is done with the cutscene before a pull.
Good tanks gets into the habit of doing readychecks.

@@Saori8724 people that get angry make it fun to do that tho
