I enjoy Moonraker. Guilty pleasure probably. But i think that it is funny that they spent all that money for outer space effects, and still had some really campy scenes. My favourite is when Jaws skips from one cable car to another. Is that a jump? Hilarious!
Well, they just made it because they could. Broccoli was hilarious when he heard about the cost of the special effects. He just said that ''it's a lot of money, but then, movies cost money to make''. And he paid them haha. Premise however is excellent, execution sadly stumbled again with the typical ''that'll do''-things and terrible writing for the Bond itself.
Speaking of Malicious, until now the only movie I know of that has nudity in front of kids is Showgirls. A childhood friend of mine had parents who walked around their house naked. I never saw them naked myself thank God.
Gene Siskel clearly hated Roger Moore as Bond. I wonder if he liked Connerys performance in You only live twice? Sean didn´t enjoy it anymore, and it shows in that picture. Talk about being stiff and boring.
Lois Chiles is the worst actress I have ever seen besides Tea Leoni. Prophecy is a very well-made horror film that was woefully miscast. Talia Shire is the most pathetic and shrewish actress ever. The only role she should have been cast in besides Constanzia Corleone was Olive Oyl in Popeye, a terrible film that instead cast the second most pathetic and shrewish actress ever Shelley Duvall.
Ugh! Indians? C'mon Roger, you're better than that! They're Native Americans! I can't believe that in 2024, someone is still using that offensive and inaccurate term!
What a brilliant era! Even the "bad" movies were fun.
Fun episode for genre fans.
👍 all the above. Great episode
Nothing is better than that original "Sneak Previews" opening sequence.
classic ebert”Its a toss up to see which audiance will hate the movie more” 😂
What was Rog on when he saw Moonraker?

I wish it was a darker film. No Jaws, and Hugo Drax as a truly duranged mad man like Jim Jones.

Moonraker is one of the weaker Bond films but it's still a good romp.

Gene appears to have enjoyed Sean in every Bond he did.
Robert Foxworth was never better than he was here in Prophecy. That's probably why most people have no idea who he is
I would think people only know of Robert Foxworth if they were familiar with “Falcon Crest.”
Why would you be forgotten for doing a good performance 🎭?!?
i do hate when they feature foreign films on here. but otherwise love S and E
Wow, you are narrow-minded.
