Just a quick update and run down of mods after update 2.0 and the release of Phantom Liberty. Quick guide on how to install and things you can do to avoid crashes and other current issues.
u can also set the game to legacy version on beta options in steam 2.1 is great tho, I just need to finish this playtrough with my many mods and whatever
Yes you can. But I will never agree that downgrading or staying on a past version of a game is a good idea. I understand why people do it, and it can be great short term. But for people new to modding I would not recommend the headache involved, making sure every mod you ever get is compatible with the old version of the game they are running and having to double check dependencies. I always recommend just waiting for them to update then updating your game to the current live version as it will be less hassle in the long run.
there are mods that are archived and are no longer downloadable.. we must avoid losing them! I have to wait now :'( I think that i'll switch right now to the correct version and waiting, it will be updated soon thx modders!
The way I understand it Codeware replaces CyberCMD now. Any mods that list CyberCMD work perfectly for me using Codeware instead. I think they're only necessary if you want to use Redmods while running CET
Yes, Codeware has pretty much taken over and made cybercmd obsolete. It was used to cross over with redmods but the mod had caused a lot of issues. In fact its not even been updated in a long while.
is there something else I need to do? I just tried the base mods like redscript and I'm getting "cyberpunk has encountered an error caused by corrupted or missing scripts file and will now be force to close" I cannot launch the game normally after uninstalling all the mods either.
redscript extentions were not working until a few hours ago. red4ext/tweakxl/archievexl were only just updated. Red4ext is an extention of rescript and used for many mods, if it has an issue it will often come back as a rescript error. tweakxl and archivexl are then extentions for Red4ext. Up until early this morning those mods were not update. Check now as you should see them up and ready to go.
@@MazePerceptioneven with these updated I still get the error, my mods also create 2 files called “r6” and “red4ext” will they still work if I drop the newly created folders in? I only ask bc your mod files look like normal unzipped files.
So avoid vortex is what i took away from this. Ive been trying to fix my game since yesterday, i cant figure out what mod messed up my game but once i installed a mod vortex just stopped working with cyberpunk.
Yeah vortex was ruled out early on by a lot of the mod creators. There were too many issues when trying to have it deploy and install mods and ordered mod orders wrong. It can work, but mostly will cause minor issues.
@@MazePerception good to know. Once nexus is working for me I guess it'll be time to manually install the 20 mods I have through vortex. Do I need to enable mods through redmods in the launcher or can I just jump in through the direct exe once they're installed manually?
As stated by many mods, don't use vortex. Manually install. Also did you do a search/discover for games? I just checked and vortex found my cyberpunk and I didn't have to do anything to set that up.
Let me look at it. I was just on Nexus seeing if I had everything updated. There is no need to create new folders. You should extract the contents and drop them into your cyberpunk directory. The folders will then deploy and paste to where they are meant to go.
I would hold off on this mod for these two reasons. 1. Its a new mod only having been out a week. With all the recent changes to Cyberpunk its best to hold off. 2. The mod has been out only a week and already has 21 reported bugs. The mod is adding new rigs/bodies to the game and a species. This is a lot more intense then just adding in new clothing and such, as it has to inject the npcs into the game and overwrite lots of files. The mod seems to be progressing really well, I would just give the MOD creator a week or so to iron out the bugs and get things stable.
@@MazePerception thanks though. I’ll just play the game normally. I’ve held off playing till phantom liberty came out since I kept getting more bugs than the a vanilla fallout game
@@MazePerception had redext and archivexl. Followed the dependencies the mods needed. Is there anything I need to make it work? Beside clean installing it again.
Go to where your cyberpunk game directory is in the gog/steam folder and then find and Delete bindings.json located in \bin\x64\plugins\cyber_engine_tweaks and launch Cyberpunk 2077 to set a new keybind. When you launch the game you should see that original cet overlay again prompting you to select a keybind. It is ~ by default.
Yeah vortex has a host of issues when using it with cyberpunk 2077. Thats why most all the main mods say to manually install and avoid vortex due to how it deploys mods with Cyberpunk.
typically if you are sure all the dependency mods are updated and a mod stops working, its because you have another or multiple mods in the that are affecting the same thing. Check to see if that is the case.
@@MazePerception is there any way to check if a specific dependency mod is not working , because i can only tell that cet is working , how can i know about the other 4?
@@MazePerception no clue but I do know if I went and started up my cyberpunk game right now it won’t start like it should because before I reach the menu there’s the cutscene that you can skip but the indicator for the skip button doesn’t say “press [___] to skip” but now for me it says “presstoskip” instead and when I finally get to the menu it’s congratulated me for getting phantom liberty but when I go to close and continue it just crashes on me and I’m pretty disappointed and btw I got rid of vortex and disabled the mods so yeah I’m pretty pissed in other words
New cars are sold through a framework system that you can find on nexus. It comes with a base of cars and other modders create new cars as well to add to it. www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/4454 It was last updated on October 3rd so should be phantom liberty ready but likely not 2.0.1 ready. As for removing street cred for fixers, not sure. There may be options for that in CET. I would join their discord and see as I am sure it is something someone has brought up before.

Very welcome :). Any time.@@asl1262
very happy we have you to give us the low down for those of us just getting into modding!
You're welcome. the good news is the reworks and updates should be pretty stable now
Was waiting for this. Thank you very much.
You're welcome. There's a new video out too that focuses on the dependency mods and their updates after 2.0.1

I havent been able to use my mods since one of the updates from a very long time ago. Tried the fixes I found online, but none of them worked.
Did you use a mix of REDmods and manually installed mods?
Had that issue last Nov updates. Didn't get the game to load for almost 2 months.
Been lucky and always able to avoid this. I remember redmod really messing things up at the end of last year.@@asl1262
Yeah 1.63 ended up having a long running issue with redscript@@asl1262

I can’t seem to get the biosculpted exotics mod running. I’ve tried extracting, creating new folders. Nothing works

CET bind key (~) not working please help

👍good stuff, thank you, liked, commented, sub'd
Thank you as well. Hopefully the creators can get back to making new stuff now and not just updating the stuff we already had!
i noticed evrey time i launch the game through Vortex it downgrades the game to 1.6.1 even though the mods are for 2.0.1
