Bought your course two days ago. This will be my personal LEGO kit for blues Improvisation. It took me ages to play these ideas fast. Never thought that the picking hand was my issue. Huge improvement in 48h. Thanks Jeff
Down down up make so much more sense than what I naturally worked out for myself years ago which is up down down. But it works for me and still has that smooth sweeping motion and slight pick slanting to skip the B string on the was back.
I've always just naturally gone for economy picking most of the time but I've been told it's also limiting as it can throw out your time. I haven't had that experience myself. Is there any particular instance you'd use alternate picking over economy picking? Economy makes more sense to me in most applications.
Hey :) I am on a road to listen 300 blues albums, make a collection of favourite songs and transcribe them by ear. What is the best way to master the blues? Because transcribing is not enough, and most blues songs are not suitable for playing alone. Some are fingerstyle 'one man band' compositions done by Tommy Emmanuel, Clive Caroll (Mississippi blues) or Marcel Dadi (Swingy blues).
Hey! Honestly the best answer is to PLAY the blues. Go to jams, play with other musicians, keep doing it. That’s really to only way fortunately and unfortunately. 😉. Just keep at it. I’m still working on it. We all are.

What the hell was that sound at 7:43? Sounded a bit like an alternate picker in the next room realizing why he could never play particularly fast.
The sounds of Brooklyn in the background!!

Do you have this lesson on true fire?
Unfortunately not just in the course on Jmguitarlessons.com.
Some people pick from the elbow and some pick from the wrist . What is your take on this Jeff ?
Depends on what you’re doing but generally I use the wrist. See the video link I have in the video and I discuss that!
@@JeffMcErlain I will , thanks !!
I love my tuttle guitars ~!
Me too!!
Great solid lesson but you forgot the most important thing - your led lights!!!
Damn!!!
Jeff smoking on the guitar to.the point that the fire department needed to be called to the scene.

Yngwie rules. Just ask him
the problem you just don't understand alternate picking. Not many teach the technique right
Clearly. Although, I am pretty good with capitalization, punctuation, and grammar.
