Hi Abhi...you explained many things short and clearly with needed information.
My Dad monthly once will go to Shirdi. Daily trains are available from Chennai. But route is different. Weekly (on Wednesday) one train is available from Chennai to Sai Nagar Shirdi. No need to go Pune...it is long. I mean you have to come back from Pune to Shirdi...instead of that you can go upto Daund Junction (which would come before Pune Junction) by train and then from Daund to Shirdi max 4hrs Journey only. Or You can go from Chennai to Nagarsol. And from Nagarsol max 1hour distance only to Shirdi. For Nagarsol and Daund Junction daily trains available from Chennai.
Inside Sai Samadhi Mandhir you can see some other people Samadhi which are near to Saibaba Samadhi..those people all are did their Service to Baba when Saibaba was alive. The info which you gave about Dwarakamayi and Chavadi are correct. I have to add one more thing here... Khandoba temple is also there..which is very near only to Samadhi Mandhir (around 800 meters only). You people have to must visit that one also. During Saibaba period that temple is very famous. Kandhoba Priest Mhalsapati first time saw Saibaba and called me as, "Aoo Sai"..(Welcome Sai). Afterwards only everyone calling as Sai, Saibaba. Saibaba regularly visits this temple and worship Lord Kandhoba...He is part of Lord Shiva only. So who are visiting Shirdi, must visit Khandoba temple also.

Few weeks before I traveled to Shirdi by train and bus. From Chennai to Bengaluru by 6AM Shatabdi. From Bengaluru to Shirdi by KSRTC straight bus via Pune it took almost 20 Hrs to reach Shridi!!
