Hi David, great review! Beautiful colors and artwork! Used to have Van Gogh prints (certainly not originals!) of Van Gogh, Monet, and the other masters up in my office building in all the rooms and hallways. Beautiful works. Thanks David for all you do! Your friend, David
I’m a huge museum fan. It’s usually the first place I go when on vacation. Last time I was in Toronto, I spent the whole vacation at the Royal Ontario Museum. I’ve done some recent travelling through Europe and most museums there were free to enter. I think free museum entrance is extremely important. I’m trying to open a small oddity museum at my shop now. Slowly getting pieces together
I was looking at your different deck reviews after being interested in The Dark Knight Trilogy deck. And then I saw this… As a student in art history in this contemporary age (or actual), standing in front of a painting in Italy such as Gentileschi’s Judith or Caravaggio’s Narcissus, dare I say it’s one of the greatest forms of “contact with reality” that may ever be. I won’t deny I did shed a few tears. My wish is to indeed visit Orsay and see all the featured works of Monet or Van Gogh. If I can return to New York and spend enough time at MoMA, yes… I’ll spend minutes in front of the Starry Night even if it means standing next to dozens of people taking pictures and selfies. I certainly understand you in your intro. ;-)
I get what you are saying about standing in front of the paintings and seeing them yourself. BUT... the fact that made me pass-out is the second I realized ALL those other famous people, kings, generals, that stood right where I was. To me, that's bad ass. I stood where all four, Eisenhower, Hitler, Stalin, and Churchill have stood at different times. Same spot.
Aren’t these just an updated version of another Van Gogh deck from a few years back? I own one with identical pips and portraits, the back is just smoother looking

I honestly appreciate art. But, I couldn’t tell an artist from another.
