Awesome job! My only question is….Does the wire that connects to the smart box have exposure or is everything completely tucked and does the wire you ran under the bottom of the actual steering cause it to tangle when turning?

you mean as to how we hid the box?
You could always get creative and not have to use the t-harness for the obd2 port, just solder the connection the steering wheel needs off the back of the original obd2 connector and then hide it.
Hey my only 12V is my horn and it’s constantly on when I wire it up the horn goes off as well any way around this, I have a 5V but I need 12V

So I ordered this steering wheel and installed it. Now I have a parasitic draw and it drains my battery. Did I do something wrong? I installed it just like this
When your not driving and the car is off, unplug it from the obd or else it will continue to draw power which is why your battery keeps dying

Because you are wiring the red to a 12v power usage you dont need the blue
@@vicrezcom Thanks. I received a steering wheel with the heating feature. The heating harness has 2 black wires and 2 beige wires. The heated steering wheel connection appears to be on the bottom right that says Gentherm, which is the company that makes the heating pads. I believe I need to cut the connection off my OEM steering wheel and connect both black wires to the black wire connection and both beige wires to the red wire connection? Does this sound correct to you?
@@markboen hello, well the steering wheels we sell do not come with the heated option but if yours does I believe you should just be able to plus and play that part.

No, if you know how to wire and read diagrams you can wire the data connection directly to the data wire on the back of the factory obd2 connecter. Then it would be hidden and your original obd2 port would be free for use.

@@davidtashman8217 Sir, one question for you. I am about to have this steering wheel professional install and I am wondering if I follow your advise would that interfered with a RTD tuning devise? The reason I asked is because I do have a LCD passenger digital display and I have to unplug it IOT be able to use the RTD. Also, the display is interfering with the Ford Pass app functions. Why I bringing this up is because the display is a plug and plays to the BCM which is causing this issue!

Maybe you didn’t properly connect the airbag? I’m not too sure tho but check your connections just in case

I know it can be done as I did it on my 06 Saleen Extreme. However, I took it to a shop to keep everything under warranty and correctly installed (because the conversion from 2006 to 2014). I ordered the 2014 Gt500 controls and integrated everything with my Alpine 8” GPS/receiver. So yes you can incorporate13-14 controls into a 05-09 car, but need to use a shop that knows what they’re doing. ALL my button controls work perfectly.

@@timothywhite3805 no response here, IG and email.. im basically done with the installation, just need to figure out how to get the 12v to the steering wheel because wiring on 2018+ is slightly different compared to 2015-2017. BUT apparently, it is easier to get 12v for 2018+. I hope these guys answer..

It would just go back on the same way you originally have it on your current steering wheel the whole frame work from outside comes from your oem steering wheel

Nice job. I just got my custom forged carbon fiber led steering wheel. And theirs a wire in a bag with silver tips and both ends. Would you know what that wires for. Cause their telling me just plug and play. No wiring
Did you get an answer? I’ve been watching many videos on the wiring of this wheel and I would think it’s like the green wire she cut. It might be an extension wire they provide the square pin end that goes into the harness. One for the harness under the column and the other into the clock spring.
Hello, I used that wire to be able to pin in the ground and the 12v as the mustang does not have a direct 12v wire to hardwire it to.

@@damienfrizzell9394 Yes, I installed mine and it works very well, there is only one detail when I turn off the mustang, the black box that controls the steering wheel stays on and after a few days the battery runs out, when that happens I have to charge the battery again, consult with the manufacturer and told me that I must connect the black box in such a way that it only turns on when I start the car, and for this I must connect the power of the black box to a cable that only has power when the car starts. But I still don't know how to do that.

@@damienfrizzell9394 The white cable of the black box is 12v, you must connect that cable to the steering wheel since with that cable you will get the LEDs to light up.
