I have to agree with other comments about the 'neighbours'...Why feed and provide hay, but not call a rescue organisation for FIVE years??? Just infuriating and makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. They are partly responsible for her situation, there's no two ways about it.

this is acceptable? Thank you for rescuing her and others like her. Has she found a home yet?
Why did it take 5 yrs for someone to rescue her? Kudos to those that feed and tried to shelter her BUT why didn't these people call/rescue her before she was so distraught that she ate her own foot off? Not impressed. If you know/suspect an dog is being neglected or abused - you should report immediately; I am disgusted.

Oh my. I'm struggling for words. She's a beautiful girl. I SO WISH that her breed wasn't banned in the U.K. or I'd be booking some plane tickets right about now to go and fetch her. It infuriates me that what I see over and over to be a loving sweet breed, be victimised by unscrupulous owners who breed for violence, tar the entire breed with their bad name and prevent potential owners here having the joy of one of these beautiful dogs. I'd love a pit, all I see is affection in the face of abject brutality and to add one to our family would be a dream. In the meantime I will cuddle my choc lab Bronnie extra hard in Treya's name, and send hope and a donation for her care and her future with a family who deserves her. So sorry I can't do more. ❤

Yes, I agree that waiting five years, when rescues are active in the area..was a little strange...still happy she was saved.

I love the work that you do it is truly amazing. However, that poor puppy needs a prosthesis now; that is unprotected bone at the end of her front leg and it must ache like hell. I am sure that Treya would heal much faster both physically and emotionally if she were fitted for one. Even a 3-D printer version would help her. I wish that I had the money to provide her with one because this breaks my heart.
Yes, I hope she got a prosthesis, or the rest of her leg amputated. Her gait isn’t so much from having only three legs, it is from protecting what remains of her front paw, keeping it from hitting the ground.

the more humane thing to do would be amputate. The leg is useless and the added weight of the rest of it will most likely cause problems if left that way. Full amputation would lighten the load for her.
Omg I do hope that they can get her a prosthetic foot or a cass ..thats a whole lot of weight for those breeds to have to try and balance..but of course..we are first grateful she was rescued.

Tom Goulding please post a link to the story if you're given permission to write it! Please also highlight the loving nature of her breed and the unfairness of a sad minority who breed them for violence ruining it for potential pit owners in the U.K. You just have to watch their nature in these rescue videos, despite being treated terribly, they still are as gentle and loving as can be. Hope you are able to do the story.

Wow, the neighbours realy didnt out do themselves. They put hay down but then left her to rot. She wouldn't chew her own foot of because it was painful for a day or two, it probably took weeks for her to get that desperate. How can anyone think, yeah she's chaned up alone but im not going to check on her because she has some hay, right

Fear of the breed. A would-be rescuer often doesn't realize they need to take time to let the dog calm down and warm up to the person.
