'Scotsman in the Sunshine' | 60103 in the Trent Valley on 'The Cheshireman' 10/6/23

The first sweltering day of the year, and another chapter in the 'Flying Scotsman' 100th Anniversary specials. 60103 was put in charge of the Railway Touring Company's annual summer run from London to Chester up the WCML.
So named 'The Cheshireman' this working has seen a number of different locos at the front over the years, but 2023 would see the LNER Pacific gifted a sprint through the Trent Valley. We sight the A3 in glorious summer conditions on both north and south bound runs.
As can be seen, luck was not on our side first thing, with the late running 1F15 slightly obscuring the view of 60103 as it gets away from Nuneaton at Canal Junction. Better luck was had at Dordon in the evening, as the A3 was let onto the fasts Whitehouse Jnc resulting in a speedy sighting. Hope you enjoy!
