Wow, that's horrible. If it's an officer it's probably official business to check out that iceberg to see if it poses any issues with the Caribbean Princess. I somehow doubt it was a personal trip.

We don’t know why he went to check out the iceberg. It could have been for safety reasons to see how big, how deep it was. I think I would say he has every right to get a closer look at something that could potentially affect the ship and the safety of the passengers and crew.

It could have been the Captain himself, who works 24/7 to keep the souls of thousands of people safe, and most of us would not begrudge him those moments by himself to take in the beauty of an iceberg.
Or, it could have been an official photographer/officer who was on assignment for Princess cruises to make a video for their media platform.
Whatever it was, she was a piece of work. I feel sorry for her.

  • @tonygougeon5100

Apparently no one knows what he was doing. She was running off at the mouth because she's never been checked. She didn't know what was going, so really none of her business. She was flatly a rude person. The way she went on about the cruise officer, her action with her husband, the way she jumped in front of your and demanded that you do what she wanted. You should of told her to get back in line, wait her turn and it's none of your business. And reported her to the cruise line. Most times you shouldn't confront those kind of people but you can let the cruise line know so they can check her behavior. We all pay for our cruises. She didn't pay to ruin everyone else's. Just saying Tony.

I am sure that is exactly what he was doing, but you would never be able to convince the woman in question as once she decided what was going on then there is no other possible explanation. The first thing that came to mind is that the crew does a lot of training and maintenance during port stops. That seems a likely cause for the boat moving about the harbor.

Tony, remember the days after COVID when cruising restarted and everyone was just happy to be back onboard? Sadly, how things have changed! You handled this situation perfectly!!

Tony, gotta say I watched that episode last weekend, and it was wonderful, but never once did I sense any frustration you must have endured from her antics. I particularly remember that earthen house. You sounded so full of wanderlust without a hint of frustration. That’s the sign of a true pro. Well done!

If it's not causing an issue who cares! Some people are just so sour that they have to share their misery. Sorry you had to experience that on your cruise! You are always considerate and should not worry about those people! Thanks for sharing with us!!

Maybe the officer's mission was to do a Recon around the iceberg as a safety check.

I’ve been on a ship on its first visit to a country, there is an exchange of courtesies between the captain and the local officials. I can see this being one of those instances.

If that said officer was a part of the navigation department then it would be right to check it out, as you say it was the first time visiting the port so ship and passenger safety comes into it. As for the 'Lady' - i totally agree with you Tony.

what these badly behaved people need to be told - by everyone on the cruise - is that YOUR yelling is invading my personal space and ruining my cruise - PLEASE STOP.
and what effin' business is it of her or anyone else - what the officers do?
and your answer to the abusive lady was perfect - lady - i wouldn't ever want to film YOU.

Great vlog. It appears that there is always one person who think they are entitled and can ruin the experiences of other people when traveling. You are obviously a kinder gentler person than me as this lady would have been left seared in the spot she was standing. Kudos to you for your restraint in telling her off.
