    I cannot express how much joy this video has given me! Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking the time to create this long look through your sketchbooks and chat about your process, and what, why, and how you sketched. I really enjoyed your sketches, and this video has been so inspiring. What wonderful ideas for spread layouts, experimenting, and the sketch journal pamphlet/concertina zines with a cover. Absolutely fantastic content and format for a video. I’m subscribing because of this video alone! I can’t wait for your 2021 sketchbook tour! Happy holidays!

    As always Mel, so inspiring. I watch your videos as I work, but you’ve inspired me to get a little collection of materials together, so that I can grab them and hopefully get outside and sketch more. Thanks also for the links, I’m off to treat myself to a new Moleskein book 😊 x

    I'm still ill and in bed Mel, but this video is just what I need to keep me company! It's always very inspiring to look through your sketchbooks, and makes me want to grab mine (I haven't done any sketchbook work for so long). I remember when we were sitting in the Halzephron Inn in 2019 and I was able to hold and look through one of your sketchbooks for real! So enjoyable. :) x

    • @MelanieChadwick

      Yes, definitely - the Sailor pen is the green one, 1911 Fude de Mannen Calligraphy Pen 55 degrees. I had to get a converter for it too. I think it would be worth doing a little video on my fountain pens. x

    Why do you sketch?

    • @MelanieChadwick
      @MelanieChadwick  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So many reasons, but I guess the first one will be to switch off my brain and observe what's in front of me. I also like the challenge of capturing what I see on paper. Keeping sketchbooks is rewarding for me, and helps me remember experiences, more than just taking a picture. It is also separate from my client work and so although it is art creation it does not feel like work. Maybe I should do a video on my reasons...

    Hi Mel, I have a question about the Lamy pen. Do you have to buy cartridges of ink, or do you draw ink up into the pen, or do you dip it ink? so many questions!

    • @MelanieChadwick
      @MelanieChadwick  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sarah, I bought a refillable cartridge for it, so I draw up the ink. I have featured it in my video on filling my concertina zine- you'll also find some of the other pens there too! th-cam.com/video/GovGbDpGSto/w-d-xo.html
