I agree,I don’t think you should be holding it on your hair,just curl it & let it go.I just ordered one of these for my short hair cut!
I have curling irons in several sizes. Tomorrow I'll use my skinniest one and hope for a miracle. I just got a cut and my hair is waaaay shorter than I expected. Not excited about going out to work tomorrow. If the younger girls were there, they'd say "Cool!" But they're not. One of the older ones has a habit of saying with a strange look on her face, "Do you LIKE it?" My gray hair is poker straight and has no body. Your hair and make-up are CUTE!
I'm happy using a pencil flat iron, because you can smooth and curl your hair. It's good to back over your hair to catch anything you missed too. I just love it. I stopped with the curling irons because they were frying my hair. I've even done my pixie with the pencil flat iron and curled it all upward on back and my sides and top I rolled it to the side and my sides over my ear I rolled it up like the back. Giiiirl it’s not a curling iron 🤦🏻♀️ you’re burning your hair wrapping it around and holding it there. With this all you have to do is curl as you go, twist as you pull and it will give even better curls without having to hold it in place as you do a regular curling iron. This is a straightener that curls.

I really like your videos. I've had a pixie cut for quite a few years now. I like getting ideas from your videos on styling. I like to change it up. Honestly, I have a small flat iron that I've had for several years & I've always been able to get a nice curl with it. It's like a travel size by "CHI". Keep making these great videos.

When I use mine in my pixie for volume you start at the root and pull straight up and over in the direction you want it. It gives great volume

It hurts my heart to see you using that 450 degree flat iron like a curling iron. I'm still learning how to flat iron. Your doing better than me. 😂 I had that one I didn't like it because there is no temperature control. They hv some pencil flat Irons on Amazon that hv temp. control.

Your using the flat iron wrong. You take a section pull out just a little turn underneath to bump it, and it will curl. don't take the iron all the way down to the ends. To style hair use a bear claw comb it separates the curls and prevent frizzys like your separating the curls with fingers bent then take your fingers down. Watch some black ethnic videos to get the jist of the iron. Fyi you burnt your hair in the middle it has pink tone in the middle. There is no temperature control. Iron goes to 450°. When I use a flat iron on my short hair I slowly twist the iron in the direction I want the curl to go. That is why I love a flat iron for short hair.

I am have extremely coarse haor and ny straightening brush from Sally's and this pencil flatiron are my fave styling tools. I don't use a blow dryer. Your curls look very pretty. Maybe you should use a rat tail comb.
Mary - that’s neat thats what you use - I have a rat tail comb but never use it. Maybe I should!
That looks very similar to my mini GHD, only the plates on mine are just a teensy bit thicker. I tried curling my hair with a small curling iron and it kinda dried out my ends. I hope I didn't fry them, I'm trying to grow my pixie out :(

Faith Phoenix I’ve grown out my pixie several times but always seem to go back to it. Make sure to deep condition your hair or use a hair mask - that seems to help my ends
@@sagedawn I'm sitting her with coconut and olive oil on my hair as well as a deep conditioning mask on top. I'm due for a trim next month anyway so I'm trying not to freak out. It funny how hair damage can go from 0 to 60 in seconds!
I enjoy your videos and you wear the pixie so well , looking so feminine. I think for older women like me, it would be too harsh, but I’m tempted.
Pixies always looks good on older women whereas long hair drags the face down as we get older.Absolutely gorgeous when the gray isn't dyed.Hope you reconsider.👍🏾

Please don't hold that iron in there like a curling iron. You're going to FRY your hair. Just slide it through in a curved motion.
Yep I learned that iron does get hotter then a curling iron. I’ve since improved my technique 👱🏻🌻

If you place your iron all the way to root start turning and then lift out you will get more volume and have more control of the iron 😇
Don’t go all the way to the end it makes it harder for you and the hair and it will give you more control don’t roll all the way to end then curl ....go from root, rotate then pull it out, and use a root booster when wet
My hair is just like yours. I have to be careful not to set the curl too much. I like the looks of this flat iron.

I would think it would be good for getting close to the roots being so small. Root area is where I have a problem since my hair is curly especially when root area is growing out from straightening.
It actually is quite easy to get the roots with this thing being so small!

The only tool I use is my fingers. The syntax of that last sentence sounds so were! Anyway I think they work best for me. I think I’ll maybe purchase one of these flatirons. My hair is nturally curly, so dings wk! Hehehe
Hi Ellen, sometimes using a brush can take away from the piecey look you can get with your fingers. The flat iron is good for getting a bit of curl or just taking the curl out - it’s all how you maneuver your hair through it. Thanks for commenting!!!! 👱🏻🌻

I bought the one with the chrome plates. I absolutely love this flat iron for my extremely kinky hair. Garnier sells a sleek and shine line that has a heat protector. It's best to get a fine spray or misting bottle of heat protector. Without it, hair should never be heat styled. You could pull it out half way and then start rotating the flat irons to catch all of the hair. Your cut, color and style look very pretty. Thanks for sharing.
