I am deeplt moved. Both pianist and singer did an outstanding job with this music. I listened to this video over and over and even prayed for forgiveness for my own sins. Thank you for posting.

I'm sorry but "Oh Divine Redeemer" is not remotely a Mormon piece of music. Please let's give credit where it's due. The composer is Charles Gounod, who was devoutly Catholic by the way, not LDS.
I was mesmerized by the pianist the moment he started a cello-like melodious line. Perfect. Hope he is active with his own performance. The singing reminds me of Werther or Tosca, not for liturgical, which needs a little bit more cushion. I know he is good.
Great voice, great performance. Kudos. Congratulations. I like the pianist. He plays well expressively. Thanks both for the prayers. It made me cry when I heard it sung in Spanish.
@praestant8 YES YOU ARE CORRECT AND WAS ORIGINALLY WRITTEN IN LATIN. ALL THE ENGLISH TRANSLATIONS ARE WRONG. THIS PIECE IS USED A LOT IN THE LDS CHURCH
@praestant8 I don't believe anyone was claiming it was a "Mormon" piece of music. Clearly the composer is Gounod. However the performers seem to have been LDS. Let's give credit where it is due. :)
@sopranocellistgirl digging up a subject from nearly a year ago? Interestingly the performance space is the U of U and not an LDS site. Is the religious tendencies of the performers even relevant? Or is it only relevant when positive publicity smiles upon Mormonism to make it look good.

Beautiful voice. I wonder if the language is what changes the note values? Very sincere rendition. What I would give to use his accompanist!
@camtep2you A prayer to the Lord is heard in any language, no matter the translation. And that is exactly what this song was meant to be. A prayer.
ademas un maravilloso pianista

super !!!!
APERTO MA COPERTO!
Juan looks really familiar...from Hale Center Theater?
excellent, but this rendition feels more operatic than liturgical.
