Could definitely build up on the Kop - it's likely just old building tech there preventing it from being taller and steeper - not the stand's footprint. Take it up level to the main stand and then ready for SKD stand to have it's upper tier raised to bring the whole roof line levelled across the whole stadium. Would probably be a 80,000 seat stadium at that point

I'd have preferred a "proper" stadium rather than a bitty, piecemeal football ground, a new design could have had a greater capacity too.

You could build a brand new stand in the footprint of the Kop and have more capacity. All you need to do is build a single tier stand that has a steeper angle and build it higher than the current roof line. It could resemble what Dortmund and Spurs have behind one of their goals with the added benefit of being a real focal point for the hard core supporters. The design could have the same design cues as the main stand and anfield road development only leaving the Sir Kenny stand to do.

If they build a multi-story car park on the existing car park, they may as well have built a new stadium there (which was the other plan).

Walton park would be a good place to build a new Liverpool FC stadium.
Looking at the parks, there is a rail line there. I could see a new station built for trains and trams.

this is not a silly idea. Build a tram through the park from the gooderson ;-) car park.

Can’t keep everyone happy, had we moved the purists would be saying the new stadium lacks the atmosphere of Anfield and others are saying the Kop went up too quick. Maybe that’s all the club could do in terms of area to put the stand. I’d love to see the Kop expanded and the corners filled in to both sides but the roof truss holding up the main stand would have to be removed to not block and build and subsequent view for fans. Unless they somehow managed to join a new truss coming round from a new Kop stand. Imagine a new stand similar to Dortmunds holding 25,000+ maybe more if you include corners and it joined to the main stand and left ready for the KDS redevelopment to boost the capacity towards 75000-80000. Wishful thinking I think for now but we can dream

Put rhe car park on goodison. They could look into a park and ride with the bigger busses shuttling back and forth.

I’ve had a season ticket in the kop since it was a terrace, the old kop had an aura this one isn’t anything special, it was quickly thrown up and now rather than being an eye opener it’s the smallest stand in the ground, very underwhelming it needs a complete rebuild and the sides of the KD stand ard a mess.

I think the Kop should be expanded before the SKD stand, as it looks way too small next to the main stand, and is simply not imposing enough in my opinion. A complete rebuild with a steeper and taller stand with the corners filled in perhaps should be the priority when it comes to further expansion. Aside from that I have another question for you Grey Beard. The original design of the Anfield road stand had a roofline more to the level of the main stand, and also there were windows on the inside of the stand which would have been adjacent to the windows on the outside, as is the case in the main stand. The extra glass would have been more aesthetically pleasing rather than the boxed in look of the inside of the Anfield road stand. Any idea when and why these design details were changed? Perhaps it was after the expansion was delayed by a season due to the pandemic. LCF definitely missed a trick there. The stand being redeveloped when there were no fans in the stadium would have been perfect, as there would have been no delay to the construction with it likely have been finished on time. And the original contractor would probably have not gone into administration either.

So much was changed with Anfield Road, including changing the raised stone benches for flat ones, wish I knew the proper answer but I think main stand and Anfield Road Complement each other well with design, I just find that bit of cladding facing the wrong way annoying but as a stand i like 👍

If all the roofs, even the new ones, were removed and rebuilt after the corners were filled.

The new kop was completed very quickly in 1994
It seemed to go up in next to no time.
Maybe we could have taken longer and built it better.
    Maybe another 3000 seats.
If we had maybe we would not be having this discussion today

Agree the Kop deserves to have a better design and height, we can build a new one so it matches the looks ot the Main Stand and Anfield Road. .I think Liverpool need to find a way to increase the capacity of Anfield so we have a ground that can hold 70,000 and redesigning the Kop would be the perfect way to do that.its much needed and the filling in the corners would be a great start. The properties behind the Kop I think can be demolished and relocated elsewhere. The Walton Breck Road coukd very easily be redirected if that was the case so more room can be used for a Kop expansion .The road could also be widened abd allow for bus lanes or a tram line and therefore be part of the transportation improvements need around Anfield.Liverpool when they rebuilt the Kop in 1994 did not really at that time forward think .You could say the same when they built the club shop. It should be somewhere else, it should be larger and have a bigger more significant cafe/ coffee shop. .I m not sure how possible it could be but maybe Liverpool if they di decide on a New Kop stand and expansion should look at how they can find thise extra 4 meters of pitch length they need to make Anfiels available in the future for international games etc o
. Our current pitch length is 101 meters and I think you need a pitch of 105 meters to qualify now to host international matches etc. Redesigning the Lop incorporating filled out corners and a redirected wider Walton Breack Road or a tunnel would possible allow Liverpool to do all this and take a new Kop stand to the height of the main Stand and increase its capacity to 20,000 plus . The Kop has to be given the status and size it deserves , the club need to find a way to increase the grounds capacity further one way or another , so many fans are missing out on watching Liverpool FC live on match days and it's a no brainer that LFc could easily fill a 80,000 seater stadium week in week out but let's at least have some future well thought out plans to reach that 70,000 Mark with a improved , larger, better designed and higher Kop that will also incorporate at least a part answer to the current Road and transport problems that surround Anfield .

Was very strange last night.. it seems the council have closed down a couple of the car park areas close to the ground. (Wasteland down Walton breck road) and the big car park behind it.
Seems a crazy decision but on the plus side we got out of the match and out of Liverpool the fastest we ever have after the game

Personally i would inquire about the houses at the back of the SKDS see if they would be interested in a new house in anfield square, give them a new build then expand the SKDS the same as the main stand then the kop ?

In the next 50 years there will be no expansion, unless there is a new owner, remember fsg at the beginning of acquiring lfc he only promised up to 60k and building a new training center. change to a new corner or stay fsg , it's that simple 😅

Which one? Am I missing something, I don't remember a stadium design/proposal from 2001? I clearly remember the two designs from the Hicks and Gillette era (the bowl design and the dynamic looking design thar had lots of glass on one corner to to be built on Stanley Park)
