Dexcom just released G7 in Australia. But sadly, the direct to watch feature is not enabled for the Australian market. This has been a great video, hoping I can do this one day soon.
@typ3me Fortunately, and thanks in large part to you, I have Dexcom G7 running on my Samsung Z-Flip 5 as well as my Galaxy Watch 5 (workarounds) Hello from Prescott
I am most excited for this for swimming, vacations to ocean, hot tubs etc… Such a pain to be on vacation, hanging at the pool with your bros, and always having to worry that my phone is close enough to me for a signal, that my phone doesn’t get wet, that my phone doesn’t get stolen & that I don’t forget my phone. Part 2 that is needed to really make this awesome is for the Omnipod to get a watch app that allows for a bolus to be delivered directly from the watch…
Great info, i get my first g7 sensors tomorrow and this video clearly explains the process of connecting direct to my iwatch. I'll let you know my experience after connecting. Thanks
Great vid @tap3me! I wondered if this feature is already available in Spain, as everybody is talking that it started out in the UK and then the US followed, but no clue about other countries… thanks!!
Hello! I'm thinking of buying an apple watch, but the only apple device I own is an iPad. Does that still works to connect the sensor with the watch? I really need your help. Thank you!
The signal loss happens too often. Not reliable. Was thinking of switching from tslim X2 to mobi and relying on the watch but it doesn't seem like it's going to happen.
The low power bluetooth hangs regularly. Whenever you walk away from your phone, at the beginning of your walk you have to restart bluetooth which disconnects your ear pods and watch, then you have to reconnect them. Then you're good to go. Dexcom and Apple really need to work together to fix this immediately and they'll have a completely baked new feature here that improves everyone's lives.
Hi, I’m about to get a G7 and will invest in an Apple Watch. Can you have readings and use both your iPhone and watch at the same time or is it either one? Need to know so if I leave the house without on3 of 5hem I can still see my readings? Also what’s best .. the Libre 3 or G7?
I prefer the G7. After set up through your iPhone you no longer need the phone to receive CGM reading for the length of the sensor. I know this because I lost my phone in a river and still had readings for days using just my watch.
T1D’s are known to have keen interest in titrating food (carbs), AND quantifying to titrate exercise, visa vi blood sugar while working out; (whew) is VERY HELPFUL FOR ME NOT CRASHING WHILE IN THE PT POOL. Two things that must occur at the same time; knowing my exercise values and not crashing while exercising. The Apple watch has solved this for me and everyone in the room actually.
I'm also android and use G7 and got new galaxy watch earlier this year so not really wanted to switch to Apple. Hopefully Dexcom is going to do this for non Apple users.
Hello, could you tell me if when the Dexcom G7 is paired with the Apple Watch, the same information synchronizes with the iPhone that was left at home? I would like to put it on my 4-year-old son and monitor him remotely.
Once the watch is linked to the sensor via blue tooth the sensor can speak directly to the sensor without the phone sync. However the signal isn't always reliable and may need to utilize the phone to reconnect.
I can't figure out if you have just the sensor or you also have an insuline pump. In this case, can the sensor be connected to the pump+iphone+iwatch??
Wondering as a cyclist how to you keep the over patch from holding sweet against your body after a workout? I just started with the Dexcom for low blood sugar monitoring. After a 3 hour bike ride my over patch is holding so much sweet against my body. After the 10 days it starts to wear on my skin.
It‘s incredible. In germany is ist now also available. I have been using it for a few days, but unfortunately the Watch often simply loses the connection. It is not yet usable reliably :(
I just lost connection today during a run and learned a fix. You can reconnect DTW by closing all watch apps then restarting the g7 app. Let me know how it goes.
When changing sensors, I don’t get the pair prompt. It takes several hours to get the prompt What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide
I'm not sure if there was an update but I don't get it the prompt any longer. I just go into the app setting to connection and autopromot it to establish a direct connection. Check your watch to enable the connection
I really do wonder why Android has been left out. I feel that these features should be available to open API. Let the best app developers make these apps work with their devices.
It would be useful if they said that they will not include Dexcom share. Never crossed my mind that they won’t ship that feature. Our son has t1d, so without Dexcom share, watch is useless for us…
Direct to watch feature, will not interfere with the follow feature directly addressing your demographic; but I totally get that it’s frustrating to not have all features on all platforms now. Today though I am able to monitor BG while I’m doing P.T. in a hot salt pool and can read BG anytime, very helpful I’ve had two crashes in that pool.
It’s great that they implemented direct to watch, it solves a lot of hassle for a lot of ppl. The thing is, share feature looks like the simplest thing to implement. It never crossed my mind that they’ll not implement that one.
I spent $400 on an Apple Watch 9 and I get nothing. No readings from my phone and nothing from direct to watch. My phone app tells me I'm connected but I never get a message to pair from my watch. My phone continuously says my watch is searching. This is very frustrating. The only reason I bought an Apple Watch was to get my bg without my phone.
@davidbishop466 Sorry I wish I knew how to help you. Perhaps try deleting and redownloading the app or checking for updates. Another option is waiting for the 10 day sensor session to end to see if the new sensor connects
I like your channel but frankly, the title should say "Dexcom G7 Direct to *Apple* Watch Setup" ... I kept wondering when you would show how to do this on an Android watch :-(
It is still not direct when you need a phone to set it up or alter your settings. I had to return my apple watch because I don't use an apple phone. So this ad is still scam

Look forward to the day that Dexcom actually invests in Samsung/Android watch users
I agree. I reluctantly went to Apple do this specific feature alone.
@typ3me Fortunately, and thanks in large part to you, I have Dexcom G7 running on my Samsung Z-Flip 5 as well as my Galaxy Watch 5 (workarounds) Hello from Prescott
Don’t get too jealous because the watch hardly ever pairs with the sensor. The entire process is a complete PITA to get it to work.
I am most excited for this for swimming, vacations to ocean, hot tubs etc…

I agree. I can't wait for the Omnipod 5 iPhone and watch apps as well.

Good luck, fingers crossed.
Direct to Garmin watch would be nice, they have a crazy long battery life.
I agree. I’ve unfortunately sold my Garmin because their G6 app never included my overpriced watch Fenix 3
Great vid @tap3me! I wondered if this feature is already available in Spain, as everybody is talking that it started out in the UK and then the US followed, but no clue about other countries… thanks!!

That's a great question. Unfortunately I don't own an ipad to test it. I hope someone can help answer this.
@typ3me Ok, thank you so much for answering me!

Great news. We want this on Dexcom One+ as well. Greatings from Romania.
Hopefully soon. Greetings from AZ.
Direct to watch is only for the g7
Yes.
Correct. 👍

Good question, I have both sensor and pump yet the pump is not yet comparable with iPhone 15. I'll be sure to put out a video for you once it is.

Great question. I'll be putting out a video next month with all my cycling tips and tricks.
I tried this several times but it would not maintain a connection. Definitely not ready for prime time.
Hmmm. I did a review video in it and since haven't really had too many issues. I wonder why.
What Apple Watch is suitable for Dexcom one+ app? I want to get one, but idk if every Watch suitable
Unfortunately, the Dexcom One does not work with any blue tooth watches at this time.

This is way too late from Dexcom ,they have been promising this for years. And they ignore over half them Android market.

Good point. I agree what’s the point of tech if it doesn’t make your life easier.

That sucks have you tried restarting the 2 devices
Yes, and it still won't connect

@@typ3me thanks 😊
I’m have this problem also. I’ve deleted and reinstalled. Not sure what to do. Im also using series 6 Apple Watch.

Thank you for the advice. I just changed it

Thanks for sharing. However this wasn't an add just me sharing my experience..
No Android watches. Next.....
It’s a shame. I was an Android loyalist for so long. But they are always one step behind technological advancements.
