Mattel really did a great job making a ton of cool features into this set, I didn't know anyone who had one when I was growing up but I did see it in my Search for Keldor mini comic and that's when I got introduced to the Three Towers of Eternia. I think everyone who isn't sure about backing that new MotU Origins Eternia play set needs to watch this video, if only to just see how MASSIVE this set truly is.
It’s definitely a set I never knew about as a kid. I was so heavy into GI Joes and Space LEGO by the time Eternia was out. The sculpt work in the moat and the side towers are so cool! I’m so glad you enjoyed a deep dive on it. Thank you Christopher. 😎

Congrats Pete ! What a beauty this set ! You managed well to build it even if it is clear that the stuff is too fragile ! I just can't imagine that designers of the playset did really think about sell that for the childrens ! To me it is more a collector than a toy for Childrens. Plus in the 80's childrens were so brutal with their toys or to opening blisters 🤣so tragically yes no chance to get many of this in perfect shape. Regards from France ! 👍😊

This was an absolutely beautiful example of the step-by-step awesomeness that the MotU hobby can elicit, especially for the true grail of the line. I'm looking forward to Origins, as the original has always been (surprise!) unobtainable. You did a great job assembling for the camera and giving some great looks at the set I hadn't seen before; thank you for that! An advertised feature on the very front of the original box promised that the included bridges are to connect Grayskull and Snake Mountain to the lower towers, so I REALLY hope the Origins version is planning on including them in the set. Putting the entire thing together (Origins Point Dread, perhaps? 🤞) is a bucket-lister in my house! 😄 I'm more excited to have this thing, though, because my young kiddo has fallen head-over-heels for MotU ever since Origins launched, so she and I have had a total blaster putting the set together, piecemeal, and adding in my old stuff and vintage pickups along the way. The only things we've missed so this point were KolDarr, Wun-Dar and the Mysteries of Grayskull set...I just can't do the scalper prices. And that set NEEDS a retail release, already, for those of us trying to get every modular piece of the landscape we can (so far: Stridor's base, Wind Raider's landing post, the Battlefield Warriors base, the sand base for the Sky Sled, I think that's it?) and I worry they're gonna let us down. But the fact that we're getting Eternia at ALL and my kid is going to be able to play with The Ultimate Battleground warms my heart. Awesome channel and a great video!

Never really thought about the scale of this thing until I saw an adult putting it together and now with the Origins one is supposed to be 20% larger, dear god, it's going to be huge.

It’s a set that honestly, I never thought I would own. I saw TWO, a couple years ago, in a local shop and I was hooked! They were asking $5000 for the sealed/boxed and $3000 open box. I left in awe….just taking some pictures. Both sold in less than a month!!! When Jeff happened upon this one for a killer good price, I had to have it. So thankful to Shabby and Jon B for donating needed parts for it too! I’m so glad you enjoyed this long video my friend!! 🙏
That setup is crazy awesome! Man, if you had all that back in day you would have been king of everything! I had always wondered if Greyskull and Snake Mountain had been factored into the ‘play pattern’, useful but not essential and so it was. I do wonder how many sets got returned because it was such a fragile beast of a toy. I’m surprised the monorail track wasn’t more…robust. And yes I saw Ultimate Warrior in the main tower. 😄
I can’t imagine having all that back in the day. 👍😆 I did feel like I was 8yrs old all over again, setting it up. It would be very interesting to know just how flexible this track initially was. Fantastic view into this set Pete, Jeff and Chris! Certainly appreciate Eternia a lot more now. That track brings a pucker factor of about 9.7/10. Thats even more brittle than DinoRiders. Excellent job!
I just love how the unboxing starts with your cat on one box, then you set it on the table, then it lays on the second box, and then you scoop it up and dump it into the now-empty first box! So funny! 🤣 I had lost interest in He-Man by 1986, in part because the cartoon was gone and also because GI Joe, which offered more creative play, took over. I did not know this playset existed until recent years. Even if it had come out in 1984 or 1985, I doubt I would have gotten it, as I never wanted Greyskull or Snake Mountain. Still, it is a wonder to behold your work and display of it. Very good job and kudos for all the hard work!

Wow, what an epic set Pete!! So many parts and one knows things are serious when screws are part of the build. I’d heard that the monorail was fragile but had no idea how vulnerable the pieces are. Regardless a lot of love went into the design and visuals. A tonne of toy there. Awesome that you’ll be able to create a “best of the best” set via the Origins Eternia, including a fab box!! Congrats on the vintage Eternia. It's a tough one to get. I can't wait to get the Origins one. I'm excited for that because I never even saw Eternia in stores when I was a kid. I never caught that Michael Richards was in that movie. The chains on Viper Tower are a good length. I don't know if Zach is the same person I've bought repro labels from for my MOTU, the person I have bought from is in Australia and does great on the repros. WOw, awesome display of those playsets. I love how you have Hordak displayed ha ha.

I'm more excited to have this thing, though, because my young kiddo has fallen head-over-heels for MotU ever since Origins launched, so she and I have had a total blaster putting the set together, piecemeal, and adding in my old stuff and vintage pickups along the way. The only things we've missed so this point were KolDarr, Wun-Dar and the Mysteries of Grayskull set...I just can't do the scalper prices. And that set NEEDS a retail release, already, for those of us trying to get every modular piece of the landscape we can (so far: Stridor's base, Wind Raider's landing post, the Battlefield Warriors base, the sand base for the Sky Sled, I think that's it?) and I worry they're gonna let us down.
But the fact that we're getting Eternia at ALL and my kid is going to be able to play with The Ultimate Battleground warms my heart. Awesome channel and a great video!

It’s a set that honestly, I never thought I would own. I saw TWO, a couple years ago, in a local shop and I was hooked! They were asking $5000 for the sealed/boxed and $3000 open box. I left in awe….just taking some pictures. Both sold in less than a month!!! When Jeff happened upon this one for a killer good price, I had to have it. So thankful to Shabby and Jon B for donating needed parts for it too! I’m so glad you enjoyed this long video my friend!! 🙏

That setup is crazy awesome! Man, if you had all that back in day you would have been king of everything! I had always wondered if Greyskull and Snake Mountain had been factored into the ‘play pattern’, useful but not essential and so it was.
I do wonder how many sets got returned because it was such a fragile beast of a toy. I’m surprised the monorail track wasn’t more…robust.
And yes I saw Ultimate Warrior in the main tower. 😄
I can’t imagine having all that back in the day. 👍😆 I did feel like I was 8yrs old all over again, setting it up.

I just love how the unboxing starts with your cat on one box, then you set it on the table, then it lays on the second box, and then you scoop it up and dump it into the now-empty first box! So funny! 🤣
I had lost interest in He-Man by 1986, in part because the cartoon was gone and also because GI Joe, which offered more creative play, took over. I did not know this playset existed until recent years. Even if it had come out in 1984 or 1985, I doubt I would have gotten it, as I never wanted Greyskull or Snake Mountain. Still, it is a wonder to behold your work and display of it. Very good job and kudos for all the hard work!

I’d heard that the monorail was fragile but had no idea how vulnerable the pieces are. Regardless a lot of love went into the design and visuals. A tonne of toy there.

Congrats on the vintage Eternia. It's a tough one to get. I can't wait to get the Origins one. I'm excited for that because I never even saw Eternia in stores when I was a kid. I never caught that Michael Richards was in that movie. The chains on Viper Tower are a good length. I don't know if Zach is the same person I've bought repro labels from for my MOTU, the person I have bought from is in Australia and does great on the repros. WOw, awesome display of those playsets. I love how you have Hordak displayed ha ha.
