As a coach, I teach my kids to ALWAYS attack the ball at the highest point. You NEVER tell them to bring the ball to triple threat. That allows for easy stripping and tie up for jump ball.
the reboudning off the backboard one isn't very good because it's teaching to bring the basketball down to the body where it's easier to steal.... instead have them kept it above their head and put it back in the basket quickly.
To all the armchair coaches here nitpicking on where the kids are lowering the ball to: these kids aren't rep players or in AAU, you need teach little kids the coordination to actually do these things before pointing out all the nuances. No point teaching the shortest kid on your team to rebound the ball and" keep it high above your head" if they are 10 years old and can barely get the co-ordination of rebounding. Teach how to rebound first, then teach how to protect the ball depending on the kids' physical attributes and cognitive ability to understand what you are doing. These drills are run throughs for a video for little kids, not to teach your kid how to immediately be the next Dennis Rodman.
That's not right coach! The ball should not be lower than your chest off a rebound. Grab a rebound and put the ball on your pocket? Begging a Lil guy to steal it under their goal.

why would they tuck the basketball at the side of their body after the rebound(2nd drill) that seems like a TO waiting to happen
They do this to protect the ball
@@princess6586 interesting. To me it seems they cannot secure the ball as tightly in that position as I would like, but I do get the point
You can also protect the ball holding it by your chin and sticking out your elbow and pivoting
Muisic 🔥

Why wouldn’t you chin or keep the ball above your head?
Would you keep the ball above your head if you are 5ft and your opponent is taller? The one finishing position isn't obviously the golden answer.
@@serpserpserp no that’s why said chin or keep it above your head.
Great drills, the music though!! (Had to turn it off :-) )
