BMW Z9 Gran Turismo Concept

Howard Stableford shows us a concept grand tourer car designed by BMW under their charismatic director of design Christopher Bangle - the Z9. Chris describes the control system of the car as well as they concept behind the design.

Just after presentation of E63 and E65 I thought that Bangle literally ruined BMW design. From a perspective of time - he was a Design Genius.

Chris started the increase in the size of the kidneys. It’s gotten completely outrageous now and Chris left the company a few years ago.

Nope the z4 has a z9 front and the 6 series a z9 body. This debuted in 1999, the z4 in 2002, the 6 series in 2003.

1.The one good idea from Chris Bangle is i-drive. The eyes of the driver always stay up on the road and today other car makers follow this idea. The all touch screen system of Audi is bad.
2. The design of Chris Bangle was ugly in that day. In 2019, it is uglier. The 1st gen of BMW X3 and BMW E65 are ugly while the older BMW is still look good.
