Hi Helen, the Burgundy yeast was ok, but I've stuck to Bordeaux yeast again this year. It's definitely my favourite for red wine. Thank you, I'm really glad you enjoyed my videos. More are coming now! :D
Hi Jon im making blackberry wine from one of your videos. Im on secondary fermentation and its bubbling well but i have some scum at the top. I think maybe it wasnt strained enough, should i remove the scum or leave it?
Hi Jayne, I hope you're enjoying brewing your wine. The little bit of "scum" I believe you are referring to is caused by "crousin". The foam that occurs at the top of the inside of the demijohn. You could clean it with a sterilised cloth, but if it hasn't contaminated your air lock, I would leave it alone. It is harmless and won't effect your wine. I hope this helps! Happy Brewing!
How'd this brew go with the burgundy yeast Jon? About to try making my own for the first time.
Great videos, makes it really clear!
