I would love it if I could build the company up, buy bigger drop ships, maybe buy real estate and set up a base of operations like the protagonists father had. Probably more of an RPG game then. I wonder if such a thing would be possible as a mod?

If you don't want to use cheats, don't use them. Stop judging others for doing something that has ZERO effect on your experience with the game.
How dare you just want to enjoy the game mechanics and the story! I wonder do they jugde if i read where to find the certain items in rpg too? Did I cheat myself out of talking to every npc in every situation and doing all side quests to find that best weapon for my playstyle? 😂
WOW it was confusing but I was able to make it work! From Reddit... "Launch the game with all the mods you want added to the save editor. Create an instant action game. Solo is fine, doesn't need to be co-op. Start the scenario then hit escape to pause the game. Now, tab out and go check your saves folder. There should now be an instant action folder with a save timestamped when you hit escape. Load that save into the editor. That should add everything into the editor which you can then add to other saves." After you load that instant action save file into the editor now load up your main save file. The editor will remember all your mods. I could not save any adjustments I made until I did this.
I wouldn't expect many mods until this comes out on Steam. Frankly I intend to repurchase with whatever dlc comes out at that time. It's a good game on a doomed platform.
Good to have a tool like that in reserve. It can be really frustrating looking for top tier weapons or rare mech variants. Wasting 100M C-bills on travels (and maintenance costs) to find nothing worth the hassle and then what? Reload a save and try again elsewhere? Grind more cash and repeat? What for? To make things worse, there's only tier 1 gear in instant action, so campaign really is the only option to use better equipment. Given the current pace of finding rare gear after main campaign story and high reward quests, fully equiping all 12 active mechs with tier-5 gear only would take several months of wondering "where did the fun go?".
I will have to give this a try. Was really hoping for a way to edit faction standing. Not being able to earn Federated Commonwealth or Kurita is making late game really tedious. Would hate to have to wait until February for a fix.

@@PPC4 The YLW is certainly a fun one. I've had a ton of fun with the SHD-GD (ShadowHawk Gray Death) Variant. LBX-SLD 10, 2x SRM 4 ARTIV, 4 ML. 1DB HS and 4 tons of ammo, max armor. It's brutal. As is the KTO-GB (Golden Boy). 3 SRM6 ArtIV, 2 SRM4 ArtIV, 2 ML. It's a 99-point Alpha-strike.
Just tried it, can confirm it works. Either you don't understand that YOURUSERNAME stands for whatever folder your username is, or you don't have show hidden files enabled and thus cannot see the appdata folder.

this is awesome, i wouldnt go as far as to have 999 mil Cbills or 12 annihilators or Boarsheads or Sleopnirs tho >_< but still takes a bit of a struggle if u ever wanted a certain mech and jsut cant find it ^^
or when u forget a Mech has ur only Tier 5 Gauss rifle and give it to a AO pilot that promptly shreds it -.- or when mission rewards jsut arent given as sometimes happens, now u can get the lost mech and gear back lol very nice
Hey if you have any fans running AMD equipment and having difficulty getting the game to run or load, have them install MWO. The Redistributables included in the installation package cured all issues for me, I tried multiple different ways of fixing the problems I was having and that was the only solidly reliable fix.
Great for experimentation I suppose I can’t think of anything more unsatisfying though than cheating your way to victory I’d rather see mods that fix issues with the game or add better sounds/visuals
Also, there seems to be a strange bug in multi missions. Sometimes one of them has less salvage than you bargained for. It is really annoying if you spend time, effort and armor to snipe a mech you want and then can't salvage it, because of that strange behavior.
I'm not against it, however, things l like this ruin games. Once you have no goal, nothing to work towards...well the game gets boring real quick as there is nothing to do. Post campaign the game is already insanely easy 100diff missions are cake walks. So what, you're going to make the game even easier?
I don't understand why they couldn't include difficulty settings. Some guy already finished the game by only deploiyng one mech in each mission. I also don't understand why they included mech repair bays in the game but only use them in two story missions. The older games used them to pack way more action in missions than you normally could take and even to set up boss fight like moments. Very few story mission feel special because of this and even randomly created missions could be spiced if a random repair bay comes online somewhere in the map just before a huge massive spawn wave, or maybe have high difficulty missions with low tonnage, so the repair bays make possible for your light lance to have a "boss fight" with an assault mech with some tanks and air support as the final wave and stuff like that.
@@glez13gt wondered the same about the repair bays. Why go to the effort including that mechanuc and then use it only twice? Also there are 0 missions with optional targets or pathways of doing them. Like kill base 1, then if you want kill base 2 to get a repair, then assassinate guy which is harder if you don't repair but gets you more payout or something.
Such a tool can be used in moderation to create a more specific experience. For example. Someone can use this editor to give themselves a different medium mech at the start to kinda spice things up and add a bit of choice (rather than feeling stuck with the Centurion for quite a while). Likewise. One could use this mod to prevent situations where you spend a lot of time and money jumping around the galaxy just to find something fairly minor like a specific type of ammo or the like. It is certainly possible to abuse something like this and take the fun out of the game but it can also be a useful tool with some measure of self-discipline.
Good for you? What someone else does is none of your business. Options are like assholes, everyone has one but no one wants to hear from it. It's like yelling at the kids having a party next door, just let them have their fun as long as it isn't hurting anyone, and here cheating in a SP game is hurting absolutely no one. Dev got their money and player gets the experience they want.
The mod can also add double heat sinks - just switch the type from "weapon" to equipment!

Looks like the Heros DLC broke adding mechs.. Nothing in cold storage. CBills changed, equipment too.

None of the Yaml mech variants are showing in my save editor. I'm able to see modded weapons and equipments though.
Such a shame that this save editor doesnt fucking work because ive tried to use it and when i open the save i edited i have none of the stuff i added

cant find my save file anywhere. like i have my campaign i can load up and play but i cant find its save file anywhere under the MW5 files

can't find the save files used the C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Appdata\Local\MW5Mercs\Saved did not fucking work
