    Not sure why cannot use a bmw y connector instead of splitter
    Something I’m missing?

    Awesome video.Your detail of the install is fantastic. Lights look great... hoping you are planning on doing more DIY on the 1600.

      Definitely my goal.. projects for the 1600.have slowed down a bit with the turn of the weather.

    I'm about to tackle this project with the help of your video. My bike is a 2018 k1600b and I'm worried that my fairing removal is going to be too difficult for this less inept guy!😱😱
    What year/model is your bike?

    I would be concerned that in some States a Blue LED lit constantly would be illegal. I personally would have installed a switch in the feed line for the constant on light. Is it distracting while you're riding?

    • @BMWDIYGuy
      @BMWDIYGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zero issues so far, no problems at night or being distracting and no issues with law enforcement as well.

    I looked at the fairing and said "Dude, got 'em on the wrong side." Then I figured you swap them back and the plugs we the same, so all good. I like them, may have to get a pair for my RT once I get my my other lights installed

    • @BMWDIYGuy
      @BMWDIYGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great catch and yeah.. figured that out once I realized I had swapped them somehow. Thanks man, and they look GREAT!

    Love it and great presentation, was very sad to see they don't have one for the 2016 R1200rt lc as I need this in my life now I've seen it!!

      @@BMWDIYGuy sent a request, worst case the from 2014 the roundel is raised up on a bit of flashing instead of flush to the fairing so could just modify that and slot one of these into it, just a bit of extra work..

    Stefan - does your bike have a canbus system? My 2019 1250GS has canbus and I want to install these lights. I’ve got a CANSmart controller for other auxiliary lights but the wiring you did seems very simple. Other than……. How do you find a switched live? I have been told that using the aux power socket is flawed if you plug your bike into the mains each night via a battery conditioner as it the turns on the led lights!

    • @BMWDIYGuy
      @BMWDIYGuy  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great questions.. so in the case of the battery conditioner, it did not turn on the LEDs, so that at least was fine. Your bike being significantly newer, there may be some changes I am not familiar with to be certain. I believe my bike has canbus as well, but just wired these lights very easily and works great, no issues, works perfectly.
