    I don't play but I do enjoy listening. I find it very relaxing the strings bass all of it. But you never know I've always found the mandolin kind of cool maybe I'll try it some day? Hey have a wonderful week. Plus it be from your friends and Pa. Me the dog and the Frog🎵🎶🎵🌻💖

      Thanks again for coming by , Sundry Girl. I appreciate it. I think it pays to have something about to strum on. It can really spark the creative process. At least that is my 2 cents!

    greatvanzinni! That's a sweet bass man! It's interesting with the layout of the single pickup it's easy to get that extra percussive attack on top. Though really it's a feature, not a bug as it gives it that old school rock feel. I really dug your demo my friend!

    Lovely Gretsch Bass GreatVanzinni, that scale is about 4 inches shorter than standard, so I guess that qualifies it as a short-scale bass. For years I avoided Basses with only one pickup, and then realised that a P-Bass only has one. Finally a Bass player friend of mine explained it to me - apparently all guitarists are crazy, and don't know how to use the volume and tone knobs! I did try to explain the way guitars often get muddy when you do these arcane things to a six-string, but he kept repeating the bit about how we are all crazy, and laughed a lot. LOL Seriously, as someone whose first strung instrument (apart from the 8usual round of borrowed violins and Cellos) was a Bass, There is nothing like the way those instruments can be adapted tonally so much. Those lower frequencies do seem to clean up well (in the good way). Thank You GreatVanzinni it was great to hear you jam on a bass (need to trim the finger nails first though - I get that all the time, such an effort, how we must suffer for our art LOL) Hope you are having a lovely weekend.

    • @greatvanzini
      @greatvanzini  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL, Ian. Maybe bass players do know something! Got to have the nails for the 6 string. They are my picks! EQ ing bass does seem a bit easier. Lot's of places to go & easy ways to get there. Have a good one. Loved your "Signal" vid. You are such a good lyricist/ song writer. You have a good evening over there. Maybe see you in the chats.

    • @IanLuckett
      @IanLuckett 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@greatvanzini Thank you. U agree fingernails are my picks too, I even resorted to using a sticking plaster on my index fingernail to compensate when playing bass, but it keeps getting stuck under the strings! LOL

    Nice bass.. same color as my schecter stiletto.. matte black..only mines 34" scale.. its pretty ridiculous..lol..I dig the gretsch and great jammin.

    • @greatvanzini
      @greatvanzini  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey William. Thanks for coming by. Yeah, I think 34 is the standard scale. I have always, way back to my youth, been a short scale guy. When I did have a Fender J Bass, I knew immediately it was tough on my hands. Give us some more improve riffs. I have some 6 string Schecter's. I think they are one of the best deals out there.
