Very true. But when backing up a person naturally wants to control the wheel from the top hence when he did it he hand his hand in the top not the bottom. So now it’s backwards.
I am picking up our first trailer tomorrow and have a super tight driveway. I have watched nearly 30 plus videos and this duel view is EXACTLY what I needed. Thank you for keeping it simple and to the point. Even 5 years later!
How's that tight driveway going?? I have the saaaame problem. Skinny driveway, skinny road and lots of obstacles to avoid. And a 30 ft RV trailer.. it's stressful. Almost not worth the trouble. Especially because free camping sites are getting harder to come by.😢. They don't even let you RV on your own property in Ontario Canada... I meant Chinada😂.
I'm 43 and have never driven with a trailer until my job needed a load everyday and nobody to do it. You help me out a lot. And I want to tell you thanks, man you had me reversing like a pro. I owe you big time
Well demonstrated young man! I've been backing boat trailers up for years but have been recently challenged by a new, small travel trailer with a much shorter 'wheelbase'. I've found that patience is my best strategy. Thanks
You were very succinct in your teaching. You got right to the point instead of spending several minutes of the video just discussing why you were doing this video. Very clear explanation. Thank you!
Well done. Clear video illustration and straightforward explanations. I have looked at a lot of these backing up videos because I am trying to improve my boat launching skills. I liked your explanation of how to back into the side street!
Listen to this guy! I've watched this video at least three times before my travel trailer arrived. Only took me less than 1 hour of practice with my rv to get me comfortable and it's been really easy since. Thanks, my dude!
This could the simplest & best explanation on how to not only keep a trailer straight but how to make a turn, maintain the angle & straighten out, great job!
Thank you for this. I’m in my late 40s and never have driven a trailer before and now I have to. This video was the exact point of view that I needed to see to finally understand it. Thank you for the reverse mentorship. Keep Well. SHR
Best video I've seen about driving a trailer in reverse. Thanks for this. Got my first boat not too long ago and when I brought it home, backing it into my driveway was a nightmare. This really helps.
the best of what I have seen about backing a trailer.. simple to follow instructions , brief and up to the point , without any of the fluff seen in other videos ..many thanks
Thanks for the video, I start pulling a work trailer today, a bit nervous even though I'm a good driver. You explained this well and to the point. Everyone tells me it's easy.
Watched this video this morning and then had to reverse up a skinny driveway that was probably 80 yards long uphill and it was eeaasssyyyy. Awesome advice!!
Thanks for this video. The back up view was really helpful to have since I have a small trailer and use it to back up. Great video on backing up with a trailer!
Wow! Great video! I have watched many others and have been trying and practicing but I still couldn’t figure out how to begin going back straight AFTER the trailer had a hard turn. You explained it perfectly and now I got it!!! Thank you so much!
Excellent video..easy and to the point ...you were right on when you said easy and small movements ,, people freak out and over correct ..thanx for the great video
Absolutely killer description. Just picked up some PWCs with my parents and I wanted to take my brother out but have never driven a trailer. Thanks for the video!
Gosh now my husband's gone I wish I had of got him to teach me how to do this. So after watching Im just gonna practice backing into my driveway just as well I live on a no exit side street so hardly any traffic. Thanks for the tips.
I got the job of tractor driver if I could back the hay wagon into the barn. At 12 years old I did it. Had to use mirrors because of a big load. What a proud kid. Tractor had air conditioning, radio and a two way radio.
man, thank you for making this video, you make it seem so easy and i dont know why i have been having so much trouble with my trailer i think i need to practice on an empty street like you did with my boat off the trailer
Nicely done man straight to the point and well explained practice makes perfect i learned using a cattle trailer hooked to a truck lots of blind spots very short tongue like you said much easier to use a longer trailer with a long tongue im using your video to give my son the basic lesson on how it's done I've searched multiple videos your video really simplifies the process thanks for the upload this will save me the headache of having to explain the basic maneuver process
Thanks. This was nice and easy explained. I had no difficulties with reversing a trailer, but now the caravan causes more problems, as it reacts way slower and it has been difficult to predict the moves.
That will just take a little time to get used to how the trailer reacts to your inputs. You now have the basics and will be set. Just give it a little bit of time to be comfortable
Thank you for explaining about the counter part and T bone it. Can you please make another video a broad explanation about counteract after you turn it. thank you so much
Good video, you explained and demonstrated this very well. I'm just learning how to back up a small kayak trailer. Interesting fact you mentioned that this can actually be more difficult than a longer trailer. Mine does seem to rapidly go off to the side. Someone suggested attaching a small antenna in order to see the trailer better. I get it now that it's about quickly making the micro actions before it moves too far to the side.
Great job explaining that! You used a little geometry, mentioning the 45’ angle when turning in the driveway, and how much steering was needed to straighten out. that was very helpful for me. 😊
Thank you very much ..it really helps a lot especially for a first time Leaner like to try and learn to reverse trailer with no experience at all.. but after watching this it gives me a fair idea of how to really do it and know where I went wrong before as I attempt to do it heaps of time but couldn't!!
Dude your the sh#%! I just bought a 25ft travel trailer on the 7th. Pulled by e350 and was sawing the wheel back and forth. Thanks much-needed help! Keep it up
Thank u. This vid is very helpful. Love the camera view of trailer. I did exactly the wrong things u talked about and this did helped me correct them. Thanks man!
Another tip, steer towards "trouble". Keep your hands on top of the wheel like a normal person. If in your right mirror you notice the trailer getting a little too far right, or getting close to an obstacle, steer right (where the "trouble" is). Vice versa on the left side. Learned this from a long time trucker.
Thank you i always struggle with reversing but your video really made it much easier specially with the advise on where your hand must go on the steering wheel for right or left! And you covered the 90degree reverse which i will now go and practice my biggest challenge yet!!!
Thank you!! I just got my husbands boat trailer stuck and I'm trying to free it before he notices.
I hope you got it unstuck! Good luck!!
@@92813justin I sure did! Thanks for the help!!
Oh no 😆
Thanks bro
😂😂😋😂😂 sorry i am not laughing at you. But it is funny to think : shit i am stuck.. let’s youtube how to do it right 😂😂😋😂😂 .
Awesome video. I'm 57 years old and brand new at this. Thanks for teaching this old dog new tricks!
You are welcome. Thank you for watching!
This is about the tenth video I have seen on backing up a trailer and your explanation is by FAR the best. Thanks!
Thank you! That is great to hear
You are a God-send! Thank you so much for the best video on TH-cam on backing up a trailer!!
Can't wait to see your hay wagon video
Very true. But when backing up a person naturally wants to control the wheel from the top hence when he did it he hand his hand in the top not the bottom. So now it’s backwards.

Sounds easy, but in reality...
Just practice?
I've watched tons of other videos. This one actually helped more than any other!
Thank you!!!
Yes, unlike others; he explain the tight turn effect and how to compensate to overcome the jack-knife result.
I'm 43 and have never driven with a trailer until my job needed a load everyday and nobody to do it. You help me out a lot. And I want to tell you thanks, man you had me reversing like a pro. I owe you big time
After so many attempts this is the best trailer reverse videos Ive seen. Best camera set up
@@CookerMan2205 thank you!

This is the first trailer backing up video I have found that shows the trailer and how the driver steering the vehicle and trailer. Ty

Thanks for the video, I start pulling a work trailer today, a bit nervous even though I'm a good driver.

Great coverage of bringing the vehicle back around to follow the trailer. That where i always get stuck, staying in that first turn way to long
I hope you have it nailed down now!
Thanks for such a simple explanation. Never knew that "hand at the bottom of the steering wheel" trick. So much easier
Glad it helped!
