A little late now, but I played the SNES Secret of Mana. It looks like Chrono Trigger but plays like Link to the Past, where you're actually moving around, attacking with weapons and using spells in real time. You can play it up to three player simultaneous if you have enough controllers. It's decently fun and pretty well-rounded.
I think a good way to view the characters is by what they're best at. You want strong physical fighters go with Ayla, Chrono, Robo, and Frog. Want more magic power? Drop in Marle, Lucca, or a character you may not have recruited just yet. It's generally more efficient to have Lucca and Marle do the spells when you need magic damage, except in the case where lightning shocks the enemy. Have the fighters do normal attack most of the time. It's usually a better use of your fighters' MP to do physical attack techniques on enemies that aren't resistant to physical damage. The biggest thing is positioning. If they're lined up from your character use wind slash, flamethrower, or similar "line" attacks, and if they group use cyclone type stuff. Keep in mind who can heal. Aura whirl is awesome but you need both Chrono and Marle to be ready. Anyway, keep trying out the techs because there's so many that you'll find some buried gems.
You were actually talking to the Chef earlier, but you had to go to the Bridge first to learn that their rations are low to initiate him giving you the rations
See, that's something I think JRPGs should do: they should have a small journal that pops up and says would you like to review your journal as soon as you load the game. And then it tells you the last two or three things you did or learned of any significance. I think Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green did that, in fact. One thing I felt was clever in Chrono Trigger: Lucca and Marle's attack powers go up with accuracy instead of strength. This is due to them being the only characters with ranged attacks. Everyone else uses melee attacks, so their attack powers go up with strength. The Naga Bromide is something you found in the Cathedral near the start of the game. I think it's supposed to be erotic art (nudge nudge, wink wink).
well video games were meant to be sat down and played start to finish. they were never designed for you to play 1 hour a week or more because your busy playing 10 other things at the same time. thats a modern day problem. not back in the 90s when most of us were lucky to get 3-4 new games a year
I wish I had seen these videos before you finished the game. I know this game backwards and forwards. I've played it through so many times. I could have been your walkthrough LOL
51:57 Great Ozzie voice! Keep doing that voice for Ozzie's dialogue from now on LOL
Hamgers are a weapon comprised of a hamhock on a stick. You bludgeon your enemies with it, which also tenderizes the ham.

1:00:52 You can just use a Shelter anytime you’re on the map screen to refill your HP / MP
Thanks for the tip!
