i honestly hope he quits soon, not cuz i dont like him as a player but because it will take so long for people to beat him, mrekk reign as number 1 was interesting for about a year but since early 2022 its the most boring the game has ever been

I think we are so used to seeing clips and replays from top players doing these kind of things, we started to take for granted it's somehow normal among top players to pull these plays off, when in fact, those at the top of the leaderboard deal with a very few and select pool of maps where a pass or an FC are feasible once extremely high difficulties are reached. Hell, you can count in one hand the amount of players who can even keep up with AR11.
I think, realistically, Mrekk is the only player out there who can just slap DT on any 6 star map. But he is literally an anomaly. More than half of all the 1k pp plays ever set belong to him. Most players at the top of the leaderboard don't even have a top 100 filled with 800 pp plays, meanwhile Mrekk is more than halfway done to filling his top 100 with 1kk plays. He's so far ahead of everyone else it's insane.

Okay. I'll be honest: I have been a closet Mrekk hater for the longest time. (For petty reasons I don't care to explain). I refused to say he is the best player ever, ever since he became number one rank.
However, I have always wanted someone to get a DT score on this map. Even before Vaxei's play. I was going to give that player unbridled respect regardless of how I feel about them. Now that Mrekk got the score I have most wanted to see achieved, I got no choice but to call him the GOAT. Not that anyone should care, BTW. Safe to say, this is my favorite score of his.

not to underplay this score but like this is the least tech "tech" map of all time. its just basic aim slider jumps and like 2 5-note cut stream bursts. the score is crazy but let's not emphasize "omg no way he can fc tech maps with dt!" because thats a bit hyperbolic

@@aso9243 Yes, i have. i suppose i should say that everyone has their own loose definition of "tech" so i cant exactly fully blanket anything, so that's on me.
To me, a tech map implies, well, a high level of technical, unorthodox ability to hit patterns. strange spacing, awkward flow, unconventional slider velocity, spacing, length, and shape, rhythm complexity, these are all things i consider when viewing something as a tech map. cycle hit, as i see it, has pretty much none of this, as aiming the slider jumps is exactly the same as if you turned them into circles: simple. the cut bursts i mentioned plus the slight finger control section near the end are the only parts that strike me as remotely "tech". the slider aim is EXTREMELY simple, thus i dont see it as tech.

@@demise.8748 Well it's certainly not a farm or stream map. You slider break so easily with DT and then there's weird streams. Not in a position to argue it or anything cause it's not the most technical of tech maps, it's easy to read and such, but it's a tech map none the less.
@@aso9243 I dont think you should argue with dt ofc its harder when you speed it up. For me the sliders are way less fucked than most tech maps and the only point where you usually break is right at the end which is also the hardest part to keep up speed wise. Imo its a stream map with a touch of tech but its not really a tech map.

I can't be interested in mrekk's plays since new year, his all plays are same thing for me just select hddt and fc no matter what map happends.

@@etesech69 Better than vaxei and not was able to defeat the reign of vaxei on tournaments? Vaxei and Mrekk has two different mindsets about the game. Vaxei, since he got famous in OSU community, is known a people that really doesnt care much bout the game or scores, only like bountys and money. Otherwise, Mrekk really loves the game, this guy spends half of nearly each day playing osu, grinding scores and trying to get better. And even with this, even with the multiple vaxei breaks on osu, no one come close to be that good in all skillsets in such consistency. Respect the GOAT.
