I love the line, "there are no real trees." That is true for so much of the Valley of the Sun (although I happen to live in an old Phoenix neighborhood that does have real trees).
I think I went to the Princess to have a beer with a relative who was there on business three decades ago. What I saw was nice enough. I'm just not much of a fan, though. I've only stayed in a "fancy" hotel once in my life (for a wedding), but I can think of a lot of hotels that I've seen on TH-cam that I would like much better than anything we have in the Phoenix area. But then I'm a person who likes lots of wood, marble, smoked glass, heavy brass doors and a century of history. I prefer the kind of hotels they have in Chicago and New York (strictly as a TH-cam viewer, though - not as a guest). Glad you had a good experience, though!

@@AdventuresAbodes It sort of makes me proud that you liked it enough to return, even though I can't take any credit. We moved out here from the Chicago area when I was a kid several decades ago, but I never really was into the desert. I love trees, lawns, OLD buildings, and large bodies of water that disappear into the horizon. Of course, Scottsdale (particularly where the Princess is) is about as nice as it gets when it comes to the desert. Anyway, enjoy your next visit!
