That a/synchronous distinction & graphic just unlocked the whole thing for me - conceptually, I was missing that Helpful, thanks!
This video is phenomenal man. I run a online personal training company and I'm finally ready to start making sales. I had a really hard time choosing between discord and facebook but Circle is definitely looking pretty good.
I've now been on it for well over a year. It's only gotten better!
i do the same thing man we should talk and bounce iseas off of eachother
Great video, really helped me make a decision to use Circle (I will use your link because I appreciate your input). Thanks and blessings.
So glad you found it helpful! Thanks, Ayelet!
Great review thanks! I watched a few, this was by far the most helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent, thoughtful review
This is a great video. I run a community for dads and I want to make sure that folks aren't constantly being interrupted by their phones when they want to spend time with their kids. I was going to go for Discord, and your video convinced me otherwise.
glad you found it helpful! Yours sounds like a great community.
Thank you- so helpful!
This was funny… and… kept my interest. Nice editing! The movie clips and jazz music appealed to my ADHD 😂
Amazing comparisons and intro for Circle. Thank you so much. I have a question here: Please share few differences of discourse and circle?
Excellent video!
This video is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you for doing the comparison between Circle and Discord and FB. Just one question: I think I read somewhere that you need to connect Stripe, in order to use the Paywalls feature. Is that correct?
Nice Work Regan
Thanks!
Informative video , thanks! Can you share more about how you set up the membership? What do they get every month? And, is it possible to have live video’s behind a paywall?
Thanks so much! Super informative! Is there an option for emailing through the platform?
Thank you for your review and perspective!!! Random question, but who edits your videos? I was cracking up, especially with the Obi Wan Kenobi bit as Facebook and the algo. Hahaha!
Haha, thanks! I actually edit them myself. Glad you liked it!
Nice video, brother. I'll happilly use your AFF link to set up a Circle account.
Appreciate that, Chris!
This was an amazing video! I've been looking for a platform to house my course with an added community. Have you used their online course feature?
Yes! I recently moved all of my courses from Teachable to Circle. It really is excellent. There’s literally nothing I feel like I’m missing that Teachable had. Plus, having the community and the courses on the same platform is so much less confusing for users.
Hello! Thank you so much for this video it was really helpful
I want to host my new course and make a community on Cirlce, but I have a few important questions.
In my program, there will be a personal trainer who will host a big group live Q&A once a week.
My first question would be: I see that you can add moderators in circle but can that moderator start lives with the group?
Second: Can a moderator privately upsell to a customer to become his private student?
Third: Can you call/video call members of the community inside privately?
I hope there is a solution for these two things because I really like the platform.
I gave up when i saw the price...
Great review! Just curious as to why you chose teachable to run your course when they charge a 5% transaction fee vs putting it on Circle as well.
Thanks! At the time Circle hadn’t released the courses feature yet. I’ve since moved all courses to Circle. SO much nicer having everything in one place!
@@reagantrose how are you finding their course building platform? Are there any drawbacks from teachable?
What is difference between Circle and Slack? They seem to both have capacity for channels, posts, emoji's, both have an app, both can have open and closed channels - does circle have capacity to store a video library for members? Thank you!
Hey Dan! The main difference is that slack is focused on real-time chat, whereas Circle is focused on making posts sort of like a facebook group. But Circle also lets you do live video calls, host videos on the platform, even create courses right on there. In my group for example, I’ve got like 7 fully-featured courses that used to be on Teachable but now I just have it all on Circle. I feel like if you’re going for something more informal, a slack or Discord channel are good. But Circle lets you build a bit more structure and really caters to people who want to want to serve their members with a library of resources as well as a community.
I have heard of Circle, but what topics can be taught in their online courses without breaking community guidelines and are their software compatible with Loom or Descript ( for exporting videos) to their website into Circles'.
I am not able to research on their site.
Not sure about the community guidelines question. But many of the videos in my courses were edited with Descript and just exported at mp4s. You just upload the video files to Circle and they are hosted on their site. I’d imagine the same would be true for Loom.
Great explanation for why you chose Circle. Can you have a free and paid community simultaneously in Circle?
You can! Each space has it's own permissions. So you could have a free area, and a paid area all in the same community.
Is there in Circle different language option other than english? Can I change language of interface? Thank you.
Hey Martin. Other languages are not supported yet, unfortunately. But it is listed on the public roadmap as something they plan to add, perhaps even this year. www.notion.so/Circle-s-Public-Roadmap-05fe60f33c584d03aab886d4116db998
Do you know where to find the API key?
Excellent Reagan - perhaps a silly question but are you still on Circle?
Hey, Andy. Yes, still on it and a very happy customer!

did you compare circle with skool and what do you think about skool ?
Skool hadn't launched yet when I was evaluating different community options. So I haven't had a chance to do a deep dive on it myself. Seems like a promising options, though.
why not use all platforms?
Looks really nice. What do you know about the religious / political beliefs of the owner? Censorship is the biggest issue for Christians and conservatives choosing a platform.
Great point. That’s a whole other piece of platform risk. I don’t know much about them. But since my community is private and the nature of it doesn’t tend to wade into controversial stuff I’m not too worried. I would recommend something self hosted like discourse if you have concerns about censorship from Big Tech in your community.
What is the owners religious / political beliefs ?
I’m looking into building a community of Christians in coffee. With a directory plus forums for various industry discussions
Would this have that diectory functionality?
Is it better then skool?
Hi Reagan. Thanks for sharing this. What form for payments do you use in circle? I’m facing this issue now, how to charge, where to charge etc. Thanks.
it integrates with Stripe as the payment processor. so they handle all of the credit card billing.
Is it $39 a month ??
I want to upload and create courses. Can I use it for courses?
Yes! This review was from before they added courses functionality. I have multiple courses on Circle now myself. It's completely replaced Teachable for me.
Not working
Are you still using Circle?
Yes! And still very happy with it.
has circle been friendly to Christian content? That is, do they have TOS to restrict speech, enforce anti-Christian values, etc?
I've had my explicitly Christian community on their platform since 2022 and have never encountered anything that's given me pause, nor heard of anyone having issues with them. They don't seem overly woke compared to other tech companies in terms of marketing or pushing certain agendas which is somewhat reassuring.
This video is really helpful!!!!!!
Great video!
