I have a gaplus board that has sparkle issues. My guess custom chip 20 or 21. Both chips get very very warm. Is that supposed happen? Socks seem but i dont think they make sockets for those custom chips.
A challenge for folks, set up your emulation to run all 4 characters with one controller. And I don't feel so bad for losing one of my Atari boards by leaving it in a cabinet I sold. Oh it's green.
The apperece of all the exits (they replace walls) is built into the software if people stand still long enougth it will turn the walls into exits. it is supposed to do that , like a pinball that does a ball search for a stuck ball , in this case a stuck or trapped by walls player, , Ram timing on the Atari system that runs gauntlet is known to be very timing sensitive, the ram in the sound section expecialy. If a player remains motionless until about 30 health units tick away, all the locked doors will automatically open. If you wait for 100 health units, all the walls on the level will turn to exits. on firt encouter the game should use the speach synth to vocalise things like "Save keys to open doors" make sure someone has not replaced the ram in the sound section with a module with wrong timing. or you wil pull your hair out with mysterious issues ,, refelction of this issue,, th-cam.com/video/TWVZPWldw5I/w-d-xo.html I am in no way saying it is the issue in your case,,
Speaking of socket issues, where do you get yours? I recently picked up a cocktail machine with a few boards and am tracking down some issues. The sockets that I've picked up from the local electronics shop are either cheap and trashy or machined. I'm not too keen on using the machined ones with round holes on flat leg chips. Love your channel, long term viewer.
I've been waiting for this one, ever since you had that short about being in the Gauntlet business. Great Job.
Great job Sean!
