If you are going to run ethernet to your shop...please use a Cat 6 shielded type cable. You can also hook up a little 5 port switch to be able to hardwire up to 4 additional devices.

it is cat 6 cable , also rated for outdoor burial, even though I chose to run it through buried PVC :)
