    I've enjoyed your videos off and on for a few years, but I'm watching them a lot more recently. I like your style, great videos and content. I too love hiking, coffee, kits, and rambling, LOL. Keep doing what you're doing. You are a huge blessing to the TH-cam, the outdoor community, and beyond. Have a wonderful day! Marty from Minnesota🙂 (currently trucking through California.)

    At first I was a sceptic and I scoffed. Then I saw how slick it would be to have a kit to stop wherever, whenever for a really good cup. I'm sold!

    I have the Ultralight Java drip, i use it when I am out and about as well as at home, it has featured in many of my videos, wouldn't be without it. Around the same sort of time, i got their java mill as well, that way, i get THE best coffee when i am out and about. Loads of people complain about the drip saying that the water goes through too quickly and use a paper filter with it.... this is simply because the grind is all wrong, anyway... that is a whole different story!
    Having a better coffee whilst sat in my hammock, on the floor, in a tent... that is better than you get in some shops is just amazing!

    Having amenities like this in our outdoor excursions always makes the trip more enjoyable. I myself was critiqued on scout hikes for my heavier than average 4 lb Thermarest Camp Rest sleeping pad but it converted into a chair as comfortable as our love seat at home. I slept better than everyone else & had less aches & pains. Appreciate your reviews sir. I love my caldera cone with its titanium mug pot & use a trangia on simmer to heat meals on the jobsite as well. Woulda never heard of these great products had it not been for your channel. Keep up the good work, you have many fans 👏

    Coffee grounds also make great compost for plants that thrive in acidic soil. One thing that's better than fresh drip coffee is a fresh espresso made with freshly ground beans. At least in my opinion. Really enjoyed your video.

    Really good one Ernie. For years I bought the " Eight O Clock coffee and ground it myself. Then my best pal introduced me to Nescafe Taster's Choice French Roast instant coffee. I immediately fell in love with it. Better than any instant coffee. I unplugged my Bunn years ago. It's also extremely efficient for camping or traveling. I highly recommend you give it a try. I buy mine at Walmart but other stores carry it also. Love your videos. Thanks for sharing pal.

    Great video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences with the GSI drip set-up. I have actually transitioned to a Stanley Aero Press system and find I get a smoother, richer cup of coffee. I think the drip system is fine and Starbucks VIA is okay too. But, for my tastes, the French Press/Aero Press system is slightly superior and I don't think I will go back. But, in my opinion, Stanley has hit a home run. Thanks again for your videos.

      I got the sea to summit pop up coffee drip that is awesome but the GSI has an even smaller claim to space on your kit so I might just grab the GSI as well! Loving your kit videos. One outdoorsman nerd to another, I applaud the nerdyness sir!

      @PaleoHikerMD  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well thank you sir :) I'll check out the Sea to Summit...cause I'm always looking to add to my coffee collection. Kits make me happy, what can I say! Working on a few more at the moment...

      @LGSkywalker82 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      PaleoHikerMD yep! My gear room is my happy place. 3 more classes and I finish my accounting degree. Then I’ll be back to making kits more often, making videos, AND have a much larger budget to play with. It’s a dangerous scenario! Lol. Look forward to your other kits! As a doctor (if I remember correctly) have you done any special med kits or a car kit that might be different than the norm?

    Thanks for your video. I understood that the Trangia type of alcohol stove was made of brass because it is good at conducting heat. On this basis, I would have thought stainless would take longer to get going and might have difficulty when it is cold. However, I've never tried anything that brass alcohol stoves, so this is only a guess.

  • @alanwilliams5836

    Thanks for this video Ernie. I didn't even know these GSI drip things existed. Looks like it would make a good pre-filter for collecting and filtering water as well... How well will it work over a 32 oz or 40 oz stainless bottle? I'm an instant coffee guy when outdoors... because I'm lazy, and an old army guy who usually didn't care what kind of coffee showed up... as long as it had caffeine in it. I'm into the Vietnamese instant coffees these days though (the G7 line of coffees are great). They are not pre-brewed, freeze dried, or concentrated. I'm really loving them. But how about that cup? Is that the "Stojo" cup? Thanks.

    You had me until you put milk in the coffee.. ruined it...GSI Rocket is pretty clever ..Check it out...and please try to drink your coffee black..if you just sip it for a few cups I think you could kick the habit of adding crap to your coffee
