Yeah it going to be a few years I won't worry about it. it won't be robots but robot arms on a stand, no need to have them walk across a room.
Well, robot stands are a reality already. But if humanoid robots will prevail, we shall see
@FutureCurious why would you have a robot working walk around draining it's battery. That why the have. Self driving carts. Fork lifts, cars. Unless it's in the food service industry, even then it would probably be behind a counter.
I wonder when the robots decide the human existance is unnecessary on the planet. I'm afraid...and I'm pessimist for human being's future.
Even before that it can get scary. What do we all do once all jobs are taken over by AI robots? And how do we earn money?
haha - benefit. I think this is proof of concept for something else. there is no need for humanoid based manufacturing as you can build the robot for the task required already. it is amazing from a tech geek POV but not really great for humans and having jobs. Remember when pagers and cel phones were supposed to shorten the work day or CDs bring down the cost of albums?
True, these task-specialized robots exist for years already. The humanoid robots are supposed to replace humans in dangerous activities and material handling. But more likely, use cases outside of factories will be much mores interesting in the future.

Could be! But Microsoft is picking up the pace with heavy investments including Jeff Bezos and others for their Figure robot

Elon Musk promises that AI will be better than the whole of humanity in 2029. So this is just the beginning
