I was looking forward to seeing what a legendary work bench looked like.

@yeezeus8092 yea but if people don't like the changes it's as simple as just not playing the game.
How can you see an epic workbench without epic tools/loot to craft them. One of the last ores is iron. And im pretty the last pick or one of the last picks uses it.
So for a legendary bench you need legendary type loot to make them. Then you need recipes for sword, pick, axe, etc
Or you can just remove upgrade benches and still do the rest. Literally nothing changed except for the workbench upgrade.
@johnblackrose making better tools with a high tech work bench is more entertaining. Either way it's just a video game.
Hopefully we get that at some point.. just don't know when tbh
They should give us a grapple that can recharge. Maybe it can't rapid fire or something to balance it out. But that way we can craft that one and have it like the light Sabre or glider

It's perfect the way it is.
Each biome has its own tier of resources & requires tools matching at least a specific tier in order to farm those resources.
The crafting bench perfectly reflects this.
The more logical change would've been to not allow a higher tier of recipes to be obtained until you have upgraded at least ONE Crafting Bench to that tier or above.
So I can't help but to feel this is just their way of permanently patching out the Crafting Bench resource duplication, and giving every player having a tough time in the new Expert mode a huge middle finger to their hopes of ever having the new trophies.
Yeah, I wanted to build kitchen with 3 lvl of crafting bench. (Green one with saucepan)
They need to focus on the building complexity issues because It’s honesty killing my motivation to play and I’m sure I’m not the only one. A building game that doesn’t let you build is very disappointing.
*Edit: I forgot to add that I hope they do give the opportunity to change your world settings as I messed up in the beginning and checked “Elimination” Off as I thought that would permanently kill my player (like expert mode) and end the world. I spent to much time and creativity on this world to just start a new world. So please Epic give us the chance to change our settings. They could even have it to where you can only change your settings every 2 weeks or month so that way people aren’t cheating and just building in creative mode and then just changing it to survival.

Yeaassss lmao my main world crashes constantly 🤣 it's mostly fixed as of the recent update but it still happened a few times around my main village and it sucks getting booted to the lobby every few minutes bcuz 2 houses and a garage is "too complex" 😅

Taking away upgrades for crafting bench but not seeing my constant feedback about AT LEAST LETTING US ZOOM OUT ON OUR WORLDS map a little more is insane … I will fight for this until it happens lol

If they're making crafting bench upgrades go away. They should make the ability to change the look of the bench using different types of wood keeping the decorative ability of crafting benches

Not all of us wanted extreme mode. I play with kids that are young who will not survive the extreme mode so that is not fun for me .

The only update I want for the bench is another upgrade for good tools but I want this to com out in the dark wood so you upgrade to good for the dimond and titanium tools then upgrade to rift to get rift items

I'm totally with you on this one. It sucks that only new created worlds are getting all the updates. I just started a new world like two days ago and it is pretty annoying that if I want to complete that questline, I am forced to create a whole new world.

I honestly think that they need to create a way to transfer villagers from one to another, and I'm afraid we'll reach the end of the season and we won't have the Wasteland set. I also was going to create a shore village by the name of Brite Falls. Seems kinda redundant now.

Dear Epic & LEGO This has to be said. We have been playing this mode since day one, we have been creating world with friend and or alone, we created a new world because the old one bugged and get error message, we buy all your item shop pieces, we play all day, we been ignoring our BR/ZB friends, we encounter bug and lots of bugs ect. We basically a beta tester. So what do we get? Do you really care about your community that still playing where everybody is bored and got off to play another game? In my humble very humble opinion star wars building isn't cut it chief. Thank you we love your game please support Crafty.

I agree with you about new content not coming to existing worlds. I literally just gave in a few days ago and created a new world, just to find out that old worlds are now going to have modifiable settings to add storm sick broods. NOW TODAY, I'm finding out only new worlds are getting the Bright Bomber village. WHAT!? I literally just started liking my new world, that I didn't have to create, and it's not even a good thing that I did because I have to create a new one. Uhg!!!
I'm gonna make a new world for the Brite Bomber area but that's it. I'm never playing that world ever again lol
They should have made the crafting bench an option for cosy mode, and left as is for other modes. Appreciate the honest opinion you gave here, keep it up.

To me this sounds like Epic wants us to get used to starting a new world from time to time. I think this update is going to be a big L, i think the expert mode is a big L. If tougher enemies is what one is looking for in this game then why stack max charms and weapons in survival before? I think this game still misses the depth you were asking for a while back crafty and i think we seriouly have a long wait ahead of us for this to happen. If it was up to me the creatures in this game would be attacking the village from time to time. Building giant castles and walls to defend... o update, skeletons dont visit your village anymore. The exact !@#& opposite. The only reason i play expert is bc im sensitive for the rewards and not bc i enjoyed throwing out a rod that many times.
We just had to start a new world for Expert Mode or Cozy lol.. they can't keep getting away with it
Need to do something to make lower tier material, especially evemy drops, worth using late game. Once you reach the next concurrent tier, you know longer need to bother with lower level material anymore. You fond a few claws and shells, make whatever charms or items you need, and then boom, you never really have any incentive to kill wolves or rollers ever again. And dont tell me "biofuel", we're all farming bones for that and you know it.

Two things you forgot to mention or maybe didn't read, is that Crafting Bench visuals are stated to return in the future, and that the OG glider will be 100% more efficient with stamina.
Still, it's kind of a dissapointing update. On one hand, updates for the crafting bench and new worlds will help me if I have to begin expert all over again. But on the other, the copper removal from those containers kinda made people waste them if they spent naturally generated copper and brightcore (which is harder to find). On one hand, the Brite Bomber village is new content, and I did say I wanted more questlines like the Star Wars village, but on the other it is, once again, only helping new worlds/players. I wanna say I'm 50/50 on this, but it's honestly like a 25/75.
They shouldn't leave, period. & the glider being better with stamina also does nothing as the pickaxe method since release has still been better.

I really don't understand the logic of removing survival/crafting mechanics from a survival/crafting game. Lego is being so flippy floppy with it. They need to look at other survival games custom modes. Something like The Long Dark has stardard feature locked difficulties ranging from easy to v.hard and a custom mode where every mechanic in the game can be adjusted individually. If they did this, hardcore vets could ramp the difficulty up to rage inducing levels, while casuals could just play easy. The crafting bench tiers are already in the game, so just make upgrading it another toggle for custom mode.
I don't understand the logic behind a lot of decisions tbh
It's a fun game with a lot of potential...and it's like in an alpha state rn... Disappointing updates for someone like me who has sunk day after day into me n my friend's world and im really at a point of major frustration. It's super buggy and the bugs are making the game not fun and stopping me from doing what I want to do. My friend won't even play anymore she's so frustrated. For her the lagging and freezing. For me the insane framerate drops, the glitching of vehicles, and the build limitations.

Yesterday I muted my game because the villagers were too noisy. Glad that, and the autorelode, will get fixed. Just wish this duplication glitch lasted longer.

It did say they would work on bringing back the visuals in the future. My guess would be before you craft it you could see different variations of it. Tbh I wish they would do that with multiple items.

I think for a small group of people this was a decent update. The crafting bench should've been similar to a village hub with needing to upgrade it.
I’m forever completing the new stuff in Lego and then completely stopping as there is nothing new to do.
They really need to stop the beginner updates it only loses their only players the og playes

I hate the visual craft bench changes because the epic bench just looks way better. I don't mind not having to build as many because it's kind of pointless imo. I see the crafting bench as a skill you have to learn and not so much like a mechanical thing, so if you have the skill why do you need to learn the skill again and again? You definitely should have to recreate the other actual machines though.

I'm sort of pissed actually. Firstly I've had issues with the stamina in glider all ready. Yes I know there is a glitch but I don't want to use a glitch. The cars suck and the glider is my only way of getting around fast. If its true that now the glider stamina depletes even more I think I'm just gonna stop playing. All I wanted was for them to fix the stamina bar on the glider but whatever

It took me by surprise to see that they removed the upgrades from the crafting bench, but i think that removing it removes the extra grind needed since the game its already pretty grinding in some aspects so thats a w to me. And i think that they should give for free the various version of the working benches at least

need coffee recipe (and coffee beans to grow and make said beverage). this here being a thing that's an alternative, since most of us didn't turn off stamina drain with our first world. it'll give ya infinite sprint (or no stamina drain) for 30 minutes

I noticed, in expert world if you have someone following you and they die, they don’t come back. I don’t know if maybe that was a thing but I just don’t remember hearing it

Hey so i thought of an idea to bring back the aesthetic visuals of the crafting bench… so in the build menu you have your standard crafting bench, as you level up your grasslands village recipes get unlocked, i think they should also unlock new recipes for the higher aesthetic crafting bench (making it a different one) but in order to build it you need the same materials that they needed before to upgrade. That way we can still grind for the higher tier bench (even if its only for the aesthetics). that would open the door to have different skinned crafting machines which would also be very cool to have in the game.
BTW They actually DID do this with the Star Wars Crafting Bench, so it’s not to crazy to have different crafting benches; i do want to keep the functionality how they did it now because it is nice to be able to craft your higher tier recipes on a lower tier bench. So all of this is just aesthetic.

When I first started playing this game, I remember having fun finding out how to upgrade my crafting bench. It was part of the grind, which was new to me. I found it exciting to grow with the game. Taking this away is cheating out the new players.

I think theyre going to have lots of npc villages ( one per biome ) where theyll have questlines and you will be able to upgrade the village. I think that i how theyre gonna add a storyline and bosses into the game.

I started a new play through and then this update happened when I was finally working my way to the more dangerous areas and seeing things unlock before I had the stuff for it was crazy I honestly didnt know it updated already but I guess it did to an extent. or at least from the last time I had gotten this far in legos. I tend to start a bunch a worlds and never complete them but im back on the grind. Im glad that at least I dont spend an hour just traveling back and forth (after dying again and again) Not as grindy as it was but still a fair amount for me Im happy with it so far.

I'm a lego veteran, spent lots of money on passes, v bucks, lego kits etc,
I haven't played in over 2 weeks, I'm bored and it's lost it's appeal, I can't see me renewing my battle pass or spending anymore on this.

I've only played around 3-4 weeks, always thought it was more of a kids game, my little girl plays so I joined her to experience the building side and somehow I'm hooked on the bright core ore grind. I would have liked to see any increase in villagers, allowing 8 players per world with only 30 I believe is way too little. I am disappointed they added new content but only to new worlds when I thought my very log in message states all my worlds will receive all updates leading me to believe they get all content too. I like the fact villagers will make less noise as tbh some of those sounds are very questionable for a game aimed at youngsters.
The expert mode I think was added in to make it feel less like a kids game I think. There's a lot of aspects of it which are nice and it feels like we have a very large base of people that player no matter the age
What i want is an essence of speed, to speed up mining. It would be very useful with pickaxes and crossbows (maybe even daggers) anyone else agree?

I hope eventually we can make builds in creative and save the schematic to build in survival, it would make building cool stuff a lot easier on survival worlds

I’m still annoyed we have to use a torch for the campfire though. That just makes it that we have to craft a crafting bench first and then find vines to craft a singular campfire. What’s next? 2 granite to be added to the equation because campfire has a stone ring around it?!
in fairness campfires were so easy to make just a campfire but even still, for a basic item it should be basic.
Expert mode storm brutes are just something else they are so annoying to fight I got killed by 2 storm brutes just now. They should make expert mode a little bit easier such as having villagers respawning to you after they (instead of "you" *edit*) die and armour from charms. So tempted to quit Lego Fortnite and focus back to zero build and creative. In my main Lego world (non expert) I have done everything and have max everything.
There's a trick with them to never get hit. Just run away from them and they'll hit a barrier and won't damage you.
if i'm being honest, i am super happy my villagers don't make as much sound now. It drove me crazy

I know you said you weren't impressed by the bug fix for villaers making too much noise, but I have to tell you... I'm REALLY looking forward to that. Captain Bavara is the WORST for ooh-ing and ahh-ing for no reason. She does it almost constantly.
I do have a question for you though. Whenever you upgrade your village, all the new build pieces show in your build menu with exclamation marks.... Is there anyway to remove them without having to hover over each item for a second? Like the Clear All Badges in the Locker for example.

Thanks for your feedback, Crafty. My biggest concern with tomorrow's update is why not let these be options in Cozy Mode? Why does this need to continue altering current "Survival"? Hence the point of "Survival". As well, as you mentioned, yet more settings that won't be allowed in current worlds but only newly created ones. At this point, even my cat will able to kill a Frostlands Brute blindfolded. This is hindering the original player base more by making it TOO easy for anything. It feels that at some point all the original worlds will become legacy and force us to create new ones because they cannot edit the original ones any more or it may break the game mode. I don't even know what they're doing.

I will most likely do the Brite Bomber in a new world just for the questline but then as soon as I complete them, I will delete the new world. How disappointing that I can't do her Village in my other worlds. Epic Fail here.

New players means more players in mode which benefits both Epic and Lego, Disney also if you include the Star Wars theme. Some of these updates are an L for Epic some of them could be good or bad

Work bench upgrade was one the thing that i like about lego Fortnite, it make me have to make a transport vehicule to put the materials of the workbench or put the work bench there. Now i can simply go in a cave with a pickaxe and go out with an upgraded one just because i built a workbench there. stupid.

This game has SO much potential to be great, but they aren't doing anything to make the world grow/expand. The Star Wars update was great, but they really should've had a part 2 and made it it's own futuristic Biome(Kinda felt like they committed halfway to that). I still have hope for this game, but am at end game content and have nothing else to do..

To me the one thing thats bothering me is the fact that they collabed with lego ninjago and yet they only made a creative map, like i know they dont have full controll over the collab but wouldnt it been cool to have spinjitsu elemental powers the golden weapons and so much more in lego fortnite

Cool, so we could use the illuminator instead of torches, so not only could we keep our offhand free for something else, but we could also potentially have that open spot in our inventory. Now, I still have to bring a mega fuck ton of torches anyway to build campfires in caves? In bigger caves I make a lot to mark where to go, which way is in or out, etc. Absolute HUGE L on that LOL. Yeah yeah, it makes sense because campfires have fire, but meanwhile a wrench is made with a wooden rod and chord (or maybe a vine? CAn't remember) but no metal and we're ok with that.
Torches are cheap to make but still. I may as well not even bother with the illuminator in caves if I have to have torches anyway. I only prefer to use torches out in the open SOMETIMES if I need to see well at night but also need my compass and can't just go to my map when it's dicey (like in expert mode) so torches still had enough function IMO.
LOL now that you mention the wrench, I don't get why epic did this

They NEED to make it a harder grind for a L10 village. I moved my village to frostlands and I got a L10 in 3 hours just by placing 1 shogun palace prebuilt building

I don't understand this update. Like, it was necessary another glidder? Now you have to do another world just to see a village? And spend 1 day in a new village for.. nothing? And after that? A month waitting for another useless update? Why not mythic weapons or better enchantments? Why not be able to plant trees? Why not Brite Bomber's base in our main worlds like the Star Wars event? Why do Epic care about "New Players" instead of the actual "OG" players that keeps playing this? I don't give a F about the crafting bench, the new recipes or the new use of torches!!! Epic, give us something really useful!!!
It really doesn't make any sense to me.
So instead of upgrades for the bench why not give us 4 benches in the build menu and still having to unlock them that will at least let us use the higher lvl benches as they look way better

At this point, I'll wait for all their updates to then create a new world cause every update is something new, and the fact their not adding it to the existing world makes no sense. I don't want to create a new world for each update to enjoy certain features 😢

They keep focusing on stuff for new players. They're going to lose everyone who played from the start. The build limit is killing it. The horrible lag and teleporting...Wheeled vehicles are awful, and any airship you build is likely to randomly disappear, or break into a million pieces. Especially if you build something ambitious.
Can't have fun building, but hey...you can always start a new world and farm some knotroot or LARP at being a farmer.
Though....stifling creativity is exactly what real LEGO stands for. Have you seen modern LEGO? All the pieces are single use! You can pay a thousand bucks for a LEGO Lamborghini, and the set might as well be one single Lamborghini-shaped piece, for all the good the pieces are to you, if you wanted to build something from your own mind instead of the instruction booklet.
SET US FREE, dammit!
Yeah I really don't get it. Why focus on new players with all these issues rather than focusing on the core group that's dealing with the bugs everyday.
No1 way to get new players is word of mouth, hearing current players talking about how awesome the game is. Right now i'm just hoping for Epic that they'll still have players left to do an update for, by the time they get back from holiday🤦♂️

At least they won’t revert the benches that have already been made. I think I might make one of each level in a museum style room to preserve them today. I do agree that the base crafting bench does not look nearly as cool.
Really holding out hope for an update for the players with og worlds. Your opinions regarding the Lego Fortnite updates resonated with me and I hope they listen to make this game even better.
Yeah it's nice they won't revert them, but I just have no clue what they're thinking with the update, it makes no sense to me.

No tool repair yet.! 😖 🤔 That’s what is needed!! Also did I hear that correctly, that we will need a torch to make a camp fire? A torch that is made in a crafting bench? So we will have to carry stacks of torches if we want to drop down a random campfire? 🤔 Yeah your thumbnail is spot on today.

I really didnt like the bright bomber think. Why??? I mean, i spent hours on my current world to find out i dont get all the content and every time need to start a new mode, thats not a good recipe for a successful game

I'm ok with the crafting bench changes tbh, it was annoying having to upgrade it every time you build one at a new village. I'm happy with the villager noises being reduced, that was very annoying. I don't care either way about the Brite Bomber village. I just want to see vehicle and airship bugs get fixed and give us a reason to have a villager explore with us. Currently they add no value beyond the start of the game because they now all die in one hit (at least Yeti used to be able to solo a grasslands brute) and they just constantly get in the way when trying to open storage or build things. They should at least function like a second backpack for when you're exploring so they add some value, they're useless right now and i don't see any reason to take a villager anywhere with you.
It was annoying but was also part of the grind and we need stuff to do in game tbh. Villager noises truly were terrible so I'm glad that's fixed

apart from the expert mode. everything else as just been for new players, especially over the the last few months lego gets around 50k players daily, I guess they expected it to be alot more popular and feel making it easier for new players will gain more players for them
