Andrew my friend. You should be sitting down relaxing and listening to some good music with nice bass. Your working too hard lifting those heavy amps and stuff. What i see you gone beyond passion to a obsession level now hehehe. You can't even walk in safety there anymore. I can tell that music/audio hobby is endless.
You should get rid of all that stereo, maybe have a garage sale or flea market. Then you can go invite your friends out to eat in restaurent, and go on a nice vacation, and also paint your hallway and perhaps get a brandnew carpet 😋

I have two receivers, a power amp, a pre-amp, an integrated amp, 12 speakers, two cassette decks, two reel to reel decks, an EQ and two turntables. I just give the wife the credit card and she leaves my stuff alone, ha. Never ever give up your passion and don't sell your stuff- you'll only have the money and it will evaporate and you'll have nothing.

Andrew you seem like a great guy who loves his receivers. I have a small collection compared to you, but I think I understand your obsession all too well. Do what makes you happy! Life is short. But if I hear what you're saying you need to change your criteria for what you bring home. You need space to live your life. I was surprised to see you take in the Bose Acoustimass set up when you have equipment that is head and shoulders above that in fidelity and quality.

Hello Andrej. Kako si? What do you think abaut i own Akai AM-2600 and luxman R1030. But i consider to bay a Sanui au-517 and i dont know do i pay for that 450€ odprilike. What do you think. A need just one to be happy and now listen luxman over the akai. I love the akai sound and better sound the luxman to mee but little low wattage. A sansui is 65watts like Akai 2600...i dont know what to do

lolz Een marantz 4300 of 4400 maakt geen donder uit qua geluid. exact dezelfde voor en eindtrap zit erin, bij een 4400 draaien die eindtrappen alleen op wat hoger vermogen, da's alles. Reden waarom een 4400 (nu nog) zo duur is, is vanwege die scope en meer niet. Zwart was trouwens nooit leverbaar, zit een andere faceplate op (replica)
Most interesting thing was at 26:50 the talking cat revealed itself.
OmG I had that Fisher CR 110 castte tape deck along with the tuner. It died 2013.
@11:38 when he mentions the Marantz 4400 even the cat says "wow!!"

What is the point to buy and buy, and you end up with those messes. I love vintage stereo too but my quality lives are more precious for me. I always sold some of them to fund buying a new ones. Be carefull you may die in the middle of your equiepments just because no one knew you were inside or you were trapped in the hallway when trying to esape from fire. Just my 2 cents...have a garage sale and let other enjoy your stuff too.

I don't know playing the keyboard, its for a friend who lives in a country where these keyboards are not in the shops.
Shit i even know the song that is playing on the rich guys speakers , its yello Story teller , and shit do they sound amassing , most of it due to the room but if i had that room i would also get that large bass and big mids , but i would use Horns for highs since its a big room and you need a bit of direct sound ,you will often see Large Horns are used in high end speakers and that is the way to go . At least waht i think , may be wrong there , im not an Engineer , but i am educated in Acoustics and Electronics

I'm so happy that you're having that E-303 repaired, Andrew!!! Your jaw is going to drop when you hear it, I guarantee! Hopefully your friend is good at repairing it, because I believe that you'll be replacing your AM-93 with it when you hear it ;) are you just replacing the bad output transistors, or having it properly recapped?
he will change all the output transistors and most of the old caps, so a complete revision. I am very curious about the sound to. accuphase should be the better one on paper. The repair guy is fair with his prices and I hope after the reparation everything will sound perfect

vintage stereo very nice! A recapped version will sound completely different (usually in a much better way) can't wait to hear your impressions. And yes I noticed my mistake in model number
it seemed that these older accuphase models sound warmer as the new ones
vintage stereo same goes for a lot of other manufactures. I love the sound of the older equipment from 1968-1978..

correct, it's the 505x and I am ashamed to inform you that I have it now 2 years but didn't connect the think even one time to see if it is even work because i got this one shipped to me. I really sometimes not even understand myself why I buy these things when I keep them so long untested. This one came without the powercord, so I have to make one myself to test it.
i also have the luxman r-1500, bought it 2 months ago and that one is working but all knobs are very dirty...so i hope i will clean this one within the 2 years....No i will clean it sooner because I believe the r-1500 can sounds better as the akai am-93, and when it does it will replace that ugly black thing because i love receivers. But if it doesn't sound better as the akai I will probably sell it.

My suggestion to you is that you should completely stop buying things for a certain period (month or two), and review all those amps and receivers, some speakers, and then sell some of them and make space for new things, it`s the only way!
Otherwise you will never review those systems, believe me, never, it will go only worse..

try amps ore receivers from pioneer, akai, sansui, luxman ore marantz built between 1972/1980 ore if you like more the newer stuff sony es amplifiers, onkyo integra, pioneer elite, pioneer reference like the 757, cheaper models from accuphase because the better models are very expensive.
vintage stereo Musical Paradise new integrated Amp, tube / 6.5 watt... beats all of those. Easily. $500.

This the risk of this hobby... it can go too far until all the gear becomes like a ball and chain. It has destroyed many marriages as not many wives willing to tolerate hard core collectors.
If, and that's a very big IF I ever find the love of my live I won't have a problem to sell 50% of my stuff, I will promise her...she will be so happy...50% is still much and enough to keep me happy
