I have the Bully in .45. It's a great gun (when it works): compact, powerful, well-balanced. It looks pretty good too. Unfortunately, mine seems to be a dud. When I try to cock it, at least 50% of the time the lever gets stuck in the 'open' position (moved all the way back and sticking out). It refuses to go forward. The magazine also becomes stuck and can't be turned or removed. If you wiggle the mag and lever long enough, it will eventually move forward, but something obviously ain't right. Any thoughts on what might be causing this problem?
Yes... my 45 caliber Bully came with a magazine that just wouldn't go into the breech. It was milled too thick. Had I gotten it to go into the breech, I might have had the same trouble with the lever. I called Hatsan in Florida where I got it and they sent me a new magazine that fit right into the breech and works fine. I hope your problem is as easy to solve. Keep us in your loop... Dr. Russ

@@rickrazz7136 The FX and Daystate rifles are extremely refined. I recently purchased a Impact M3 and it is a incredible piece of machinery. It’s my second rifle. And they are cheap compared to a match grade powder burner. My uncle has $7000 into his rifle. If you want something premium, you got to save your pennys. That said I have a Benjamin Bulldog and it’s a great rifle. But having no regulator, no return spring adjustment, and a primitive hammer adjustment, your hands are tide behind your back. You have to find the round it shoots good rather than tuning the gun to shoot the round that you want to shoot. None of that matters if you just want to plink. I actually believe 25 caliber would do the job in the shooting you described ...but the 357 is obviously larger and better... as long as your neighbors don't mind. I recommend any of the AEA ... Hatsan ... or Crosman Bulldog for the 357 caliber... Dr. Russ
I am here in Wyoming, and it seems half the people I know are from Michigan. I think they hunt here once, and never really leave the mountains again.
Wyoming Gun Dogs .... those mountains are very alluring .... I have hunted on 2 ranches ... near Gillette and Buffalo over the past 20 years .... and one year in Montana... another in Colorado... and those Big Horns are my favorite.... The Powder River Basin up thru Buffalo is one of the few places you can hunt and get pronghorn, mule deer, and elk in one 5 day hunt. Good to hear from you ... please write again... sharing your air gun experiences... so that you can help us help everyone stay air gun sharp.... Dr. Russ
Just did a penetration test a few minutes ago. The pellet went through 6" of meat like it wasn't even there. I originally expected to find the pellet about 4" into the meat. If I hadn't used 1/8" thick metal back stop it would have gone through the wall as well! BTW was 45 cal.
Jaxxon Balboa ... thanks for writing and sharing your 45 caliber experience. I am shooting my Hatsan Bully in 45 caliber tomorrow in a video that will be launched sometime over the next week or two. Again, thanks for sharing... Dr. Russ

Can the .45 hercules bully kill deer
Yes ... out to about 100 yards and aim for the head. keep in mind that some have killed deer at 200 yards with a 22 ... but lucked out with an eye shot etc... and if that hunting practice continued, would result in a bunch of wounded deer. Dr. Russ
Keep educating the uneducated. 👍✌
Jay Dogg.... it is good to hear from you .... thanks for writing .... and please keep us in your info loop of air gun experiences .... helping us help everyone to be air gun sharp. Dr. Russ
You have nice guns Dr..
Good to hear from you again Rhino .... my collection is up to 23 air guns and I am planning a video on what are the deal breakers when buying a gun versus having a favorite brand or type ... that might lead you into the wrong decision in buying one. Dr. Rubb
Dr Russ. You own many rifles, I can reccomend an FX wildcat sniper .25 . Powerfull, light and very accurate. You should try and feel that gun one time😉
Thanks Danny Ouwehand... good idea ... and it is good to hear from you.. Please share your air gun experiences to help us help everyone who wants to stay air gun sharp... Dr. Russ
I have no problem with fx, daystate and the other 'big boys' but I do appreciate you keeping content and equipment in the range of enthusiasts who choose to keep their airgunning budget in line with other hobbies and responsibilities. Especially when so many of our favorites content providers have made the Fx migration.
But if you want to dial something in to be the best it can be, you need something designed to put you in control.
@@nsboost thanks those are excellent points. That being said I have a very inexpensive Hatsan Flash .25 that is a tac driver at 40yds tuned to polymags. I will note that you have to get 'lucky' with budget guns in regards to shooting any pellet accurately.
Did you happen to stop in at the sleepy coyote in ten sleep? Don’t know if you’ve heard of Steve Criner, he does a lot of air gun hunting and that’s his bar
JP .... good to hear from you .... wish I had gotten your comment sooner ... before or during my Ten Sleep visit.... perhaps next time. It is a great town with great people... Dr. Russ
You should've got a 30cal or .357cal Mr.Dr.😎
Yes... but I didn't want to be approached or pulled over by fish and game and explain those larger deer and elk killing air rifles during the pre-season... Dr. Russ
@@drsrussandpaula ahh I see 😎👌
Are you still liking your bully's?
My 2 Bullys are great rifles ... in my collection ... however, I have moved on to 30 caliber as my favorite. Each back yard and neighbor is different.... Dr. Russ
HUNTING question... GA gives you paper license... paper... why not hard copy - plasticards with picture on it... TUESDAY Jan. 09 2024 currently Mobile ALABAMA
Kwest ... it is good to hear from you ... probably provides paper like most states to save money and for a license that is only good for a year. There are some plastic cases that some hunters put their licenses in .. Dr. Russ

Hatsan is garbage. Not to mention their guns are ugly.
Look at all the problems people are having with their blitz...
I'll never own a Turkish made weapon. Maybe a sword, but nothing mechanical.
Dan Gerous ... Good to hear from you. I am not loyal to any one brand ... a look at all 21 air guns that I have is proof of that... and I have 3 coming from AEA which are out of Florida ... but made in China I believe. Currently, Hatsan is a huge company that is number one in Europe and maybe the world... Some of the best bargains I have purchased have come from Hatsan.... If you click onto the small circular photo of me, ... you will see our library of videos... and one is titled ...."Buying Refurbished Air Guns" and tells how to buy Crosman, Gamo and Hatsan. I hear so many air gunners talking about a bad experience from one company or another .... that it is obvious to me that the air gun industry is still working on quality control in their factories. However, refurbished guns often get a review by an American gunsmith .... and that is possibly why I haven't had problems with them... Dr. Russ
I made a video on the Hatsan Blitz .... but couldn't get it to accept air ... so my video was to return it.... never the less... I believe they will master the full auto air gun.... they are big and have a lot of people and money working on the possibilities.... Dr. Russ
This seems like the type of guy that would take you on a Alamo tour thinking he was David crockett. Just cringe 😫
Lee... sorry our video didn't live up to your expectations. Dr. Russ
@@drsrussandpaula I respect the fact that you make them, just not quite my cup of tea 👍
