What was the NGAD's maximum speed in the end?

Fascinating video, very impressed with the NGAD.
How does it compare to fly vs traditional models. Perhaps a video?

He installed an external camera on his F-15 IIRC and pointed it both ways (front & rear), but I've never seen an FPV system on any of his models. Maybe I missed it

Fans and propellers have a tendency of becoming exponentially more efficient as the size increases, that and the speed jet has nothing blocking its exhaust flow. If you size the speed jet gen 5 up to a 90mm it would be beyond imaginable

Ever notice a B747 take off and land ? ? it seems that it's almost stationary in the air yet it goes 200 mph. . .so inversally, the smaller it is, the faster it seems to fly. . . .

What infill do you use in your wings? I’m printing the SU-47 and the instructions say 3% infill gyroid, but is that for the wings too?(seems very hollow)

Given the power to weight ratio and the max thrust of the motors, you could use a formula to estimate speed. i`m not a mathelete but know we could formulas for everything. ;-)

Can I ask a question about your Mig29 files please
I'm looking to purchase the file after finding it on cults, I'm just wondering what size bed I can print it on, I have a ender 5, is this going to be too small

    • @hotlapkyle
      @hotlapkyle  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@TMCarter1 220/220/220 is plenty big. If something is too large you can always split the part and print. Then just glue the halves together

@hotlapkyle cool man! thank you for your reply, it's all a bit new to me, I got one for gopro mounts and motor guards and the like but stumbled across your channel and was like 🤔😆 the printer I just bought has apparently got the best upgrades firmware wise, but I have ordered a sonic pad for clipper and the PEI pad to go on it 🤞🏻 always wanted a little mig29, my favourite fighter jet of all time, and to be honest them flight characteristics looks amazing 👏🏻

If you want speed try using a fpv racing drone motor as a pusher.
    Eg, 23x5 2000kv 6s 5” 3 blade

There is something I otice about RC,medium and small, they react way too fast to inputs, they do not look close tu the real thing. . . Your NGAD had a very realistic flight control. slower yet more less twitchy this one is fast and too reactive to input. .
My opinion. . . since I had one P51 Mustang in the early 1970 , line controled. . or un controllable , one circle, 2 loops and crash into tiny piece. . ☺

Perhaps you could put a bit of contrast color on your prints so we could see the plane flying better. The gray is almost like the military camouflage.
Just a spritz of orange or yellow on wing tops (no need for elaborate taping either) or perhaps use black on the underwings or SOMETHING because maybe the planes show up on a PC desktop screen but many of us use pretty much our phones exclusively and the plane your flying just disappears. I've watched a couple other channels and yes, a bit of contrast color DOES help.
And you are getting HUGE drag and fan efficiency loss with the icecream scoop inlet, if it was faired in and streamlined more/ rounded more instead of the sharp angle from fuselage to intake recess you probably would pick up some
