This one right here, he is a soloist competing representing his dance group in Tahiti. The Heiva festival is a month long of dances and traditional sports festivities. The festivities are on every July.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I am saddened by the negative impact of contemporary dance interpretation of traditional dance movement. These dances look like a Zumba version of traditional dance and lacks any finesse, style, and passion. The uninformed may not know but this is a terrible representation of my culture.
No such thing as traditional. What was once seen as modern is now traditional. Ori has evolved and still do each and every day. How you keep a culture alive and from becoming a museum attraction. The Heiva is strict and full of rules. They can't do ''modern', or Zumba. Also you're clearly lying and not a dancer your self, seeing these are all basic moves of Ori Tahiti (Tane version). Nice try claiming something that's clearly not yours!
