That is not true at all. Yes, especially the energy prices has driven the prices up for a while, but you can eat on a restaurant much cheaper in Sri Lanka, than I can even buy the ingredients for, by a long shot, here in Denmark. 200 Rupees for a king coconut is expensive, also in Sri Lanka, so that is a tourist price, but 200 Rupees are half a US Dollars! What can you get in Europe, USA or South Africa for half a Dollars?
Aybuvan is WELCOME! not Hello, and you basically should never say it! Or, to be precise, when they come to your home or business or country, say Aybuvan! The tower were not yet open for business, last time I were in Colombo, so interesting to see the view. The beach is called Golden Beach or Gold Faced Beach, probably refer to the light at the favored times of the local there, the sunset. God Bless!
You guys are really doing good. One feedback 100 rupee is almost nothing in here. I felt like you are barging everything without idea of honest price make the seller uncomfortable and confused. It's always nice to make everyone happy in the end. Most of them are honest people only few crooks around that easy to track. If become generous bit your videos will have more positive vibes ❤
Guys inflation is high now in Sri Lanka so don’t bargain too much. It’s their job so be reasonable and respect their jobs. Not every person unfair. Enjoy Sri Lanka ❤
The same in Denmark. Same wages, double prices in many things. You should see my electric bills this winter, and I live in a house, which is heated by heatpump (electric) in a climate, that demands indoor heating at winter. Just one of those three months electricity bills could be as much as a standard yearly income in Sri Lanka, and it also for me were breaking the bank. Still, hustling of tourists is a major problem in Sri Lanka and also growing and don't even try to convince me, that it is not: I have been there nine times and my ex-wife were from Sri Lanka. Last time I were in Colombo, and I do mean last, as I am never ever going there again, a tuk-tuk driver hustled me off 4.000 Rupees for a ride to a Hindu temple, which I could seriously have walked to in five minutes. They do well by sticking to the Uber listed prices, and it would be my advice for tourists going to Sri Lanka now, or to entirely go places in rented vehicles with fixed prices, as renting a scooter or even tuk tuk. That's what I did last time in Sri Lanka, which both saved me a lot of money and gave me freedom to go places on my own. By the way, renting a vehicle do also support a local, and not a hustler. I am not saying, that all tuk tuk drivers are hustlers, but they sure operates with tourist prices, and many indeed also are hustlers. In Sri Lanka you really never know, who you get a ride with. I had my worst ever taxi experience in Sri Lanka, and that even along with my local wife and her mother, who picked a tuk tuk driver, who clearly were on drugs and nearly ran us off the road several times! He actually did bust a wheel on his tuk tuk, which I only saw as funny: He earned nothing by scaring the shit out of us with his dangerous driving, that is for sure! You forget, you can support your local tuk tuk driver, because he is your neighbor and you know, that he is good guy, but that is not the case for a tourist, when we come to a country like Sri Lanka and basically anyone with a tuk tuk can act as a taxi driver.
nice video, but i wonder would you go into a london restaurant and say can you just give me a small portion of pasta, i will pay less price for a dish :D did you guys pay for the snake btw?
Bro bargaining for 0.30 $ for that Casava chips..Which is reasonable..You won’t get that for even 3 $ in west…Same with that achara(pickle) thing..Good u didn’t argue for that..For Tuk tuk normally it will be fairly higher when u take instantly without the use of app…So 250 might be a good price..
Hi my dear friends.. You are warmly welcomed to Sri Lanka and invite you to visit other fascinating destinations of my country. You both are really lovely. Take care and enjoy. Thank you very much for visiting sL.
As a Sri Lankan, I always use uber for my tuk drives becuz it's way cheaper and safe and also I should say I never knew about the flag thing, but whenever we hoist the flag we always play our anthem not when we bring it down. It's actually nice to see that scenario with the sunset.
To say bye in Sri Lankan is to say "cherrio" just like the British. I don't know if you have heard of this British term in South Africa. The entrance to the lotus tower tends to charge the foreigners and tourists more than the locals. This is why its more expensive. Even the tuk-tuk drivers charge more. This is a major scam in Sri Lanka and all foreigners have to be very aware of this.
You both are so professional and casual doing a great job in covering the full Galle Face Green activities... Also you'll have done home work on history of Sri Lanka😊
You visited India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. You will found cheaper and better food, stay options and urban amenities in India than other two beautiful coutries. It is because of high per capita income and better living standards. Also the indian currency is way valuable than other south asian countries. There you will found prices in hundreds or even in thousands; however in India you will get the same food item within Rs. 100. it is because of currency rate and deteriorating economic conditions in other two countries. India is developing with better living conditions. Hope with the economic ties with India in future Sri Lankan economy will improve soon. Lots of love and wishes to our Sri Lankan brothers and sisters from India 🇮🇳🤝🇱🇰
Sri Lankan GDP STANDS AT 4600 $ After economic crisis down to 3800$ Indian GDP STANDS QT 2800$ SRI LANKA IS STILL DOING WELL IN SOUTH ASIA. BY NEXT YEAR SRI LANKA WILL BOUNCE BACK MUCH STRONGER
Quality of life has always been better in SL...pls look at the health education conditions and mortality rates and comment. However due to economies of scale and population there is higher GDP in India but not per head or per capita.
Hi Guys! Loved to see your vedios and got addicted to your trips...! Next time I hope you do visit India again... 🎉 All the best for your future trips 🎉
So I wanted to enlighten everyone about the difference about private vs uber tuk tuk price beacuse everyone seem to have a wrong idea about this. Bottom line uber only charge you only for journey and problem with private tuks are they have charge you for the trip and their wayback. For example lets guess, maps say there is 2km for the ur preferred destination, private drivers have to take you 2km and they also have to come back to their original location counting its 4km. So Uber drivers have this advantage where they can find another customer from ur destination so they can be very cheap compared to private drivers. It's not usually unfair if private driver ask you not more than the double the uber price. So there you have it. Hope this is helpful.
Brother and sister you must come our Bangladesh. every foreigner said we have great hospitality.our culture is similar with India and Sri Lanka. so both of you come and enjoy a lot ❤️🇧🇩
So the normal tuk tuk starting meter 100 and after 1km every other km will charge you 80. And the location u visited is Gall face beach 🏝️. Love ur videos bro keep traveling Sri Lanka

I have never paid more than 100 Rupee for a king coconut in Sri Lanka, and that top price even were in very touristy and expensive Ella, August 2022. I have paid down to 30 Rupee and 50 is a standard price, even in places like Galle and Colombo. Yes, 200 Rupee is expensive, and the vendor even agreed!
Yep that's Sri Lanka... They do this everywhere. Zoo, National Parks, Temples, museums, EVERYWHERE. Went to Sigirya rock and I paid 10 500 rupees and my boyfriend as a local paid 100 rupees!! We go to temples... Boyfriend goes free and I pay 500-2000 rupees! It's disgusting! Everywhere is price for local and price for foreigners! I cannot recommend this country to anyone coz they are really greedy with foreigners.
In srilanka and India taxi like three wheeler they charged to much fair when dealing some foreigners you may hooked Ola uber in India they also provide three wheeler taxi ,car taxi as well as bike taxi also❤❤❤❤❤
Why don't you guys start respecting your own people first? The minorities of Paxtan, for example? Your fellow South Asians? People of other faiths? The true heroes of the subcontinent who fought for freedom from the British? And start recognising that the Abdalis and Ghaznis and Babars are not your heroes. MBQ invaded Multan, looted, plundered, and killed its people, and force-converted your ancestors. Start recognising your roots. Your roots aren't in Arabia or Turkey or Central Asia.
Guys 1 Indian Rupee = 4 Srilankan Rupees, which means that 400 srilankan rupees = 100 INR, which is slightly expensive for a two km ride but not crazy. You did it for 200 srilankan rupees on uber which is 50 INR, which is cheap. But Uber does have promotional prices in many cities and pays these drivers extra. So your ride might have been subsidised by uber. Note that Silanka has faced a very bad economic crisis and is trying to recover from it. Petrol and gas is very expensive there. So these drivers are not making a lot even with the prices you considered a rip-off. The fries were 100 srilankan rupees i.e. 25 INR sounds cheap to me as an Indian. Also the sour fruit you guys ate was indeed Olive. It was not oli oli, The guy was just repeating the name Olive twice thinking that by doing so your guys would get it. The accent in this part of the world is different so you have to listen carefully to understand especially when communicating with the poor strata of the society who has not had the good fortune of getting an education.
We're definitely not confused about the Indian currency rate. Although the ride is 200 Sri Lankan Rupees with Uber, the local is charging more than double for the same distance, which is not justifiable. By negotiating, we are trying to get a fair price that benefits both parties and be mindful of our budget
Silly, you are absolutely WRONG and that in both accounts, that you try to lecture these young travelers from South Africa about: Oli Oli is referred to as "blu olives", but they has nothing in common with the Mediterranean olive and is indeed a indigenous Sri Lankan tropical fruit. When have you ever heard olives referred to as a food for women only, by the way. I am a real man, I can tell you, and I love olives, not oli oli! Second, I have paid 4.000 Rupees for a tuk tuk drive in Colombo, to a Hindu temple, that I did not even want to go to and seriously five minutes walking distance away! If you do not haggle in Sri Lanka, you are getting hustled. If you are not going to haggle big time in Colombo of all places in Sri Lanka, you are going to be hustled big times. My ex-wife were Sri Lankan, and she would never enter a tuk tuk or buy anything, without haggling first, I can tell you. 400 Rupees is a tourist price, which the Uber price also illustrates and Uber do not subsidize their drives, but instead take a fee for forwarding them the ride. Where on Earth do you even get such nonsense? Maybe you should stop, seriously, seeking council of unclean spirits (demons!) in your yoga and transcendental meditation!
@@1corinthians15.1-4kjv Sir, I am not here to troll you or anyone else. I was just trying to be helpful based on what I know. Based on your suggestion, I googled oli oli and really nothing related to olives came up. Moreover, the olives they were eating were not blue if you watched the video. They were brown in color. So even on that account oli oli does not make sense. as far as Uber subsidizing prices is concerned, a simple google search will tell you that Uber does in fact subsidizes prices. This strategy is a part of building a customer base. The cost associated with this strategy is known as Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), a common terminology used in the start-up industry. Also, I am not saying one must not negotiate the prices but all I meant was that 400 Srilankan rupees is not a rip-off (based on fuel prices and comparative spending power in India. Now you can go bite your tongue!

Prices are too high in Sri Lanka because of recession . Love from India to buddymoon❤
That makes sense😜 some places were expensive.
@@thebuddymoon yes obviously 😜
As a Sri Lankan I can guarantee it is not. Actually prices went down (when turned into foreign rates) after the recession.
Good job guys I’m glad I found you. I was looking at Sri Lanka for a cruise next year I love the accents I’m from Michigan US❤

God Bless!
Do love your personality ...that shines true with the beautiful country
You guys are really doing good. One feedback 100 rupee is almost nothing in here. I felt like you are barging everything without idea of honest price make the seller uncomfortable and confused. It's always nice to make everyone happy in the end. Most of them are honest people only few crooks around that easy to track. If become generous bit your videos will have more positive vibes ❤
yeah im with you. distance between two locations is about 3km. so 100 is enough for 1km 🙂
Was thinking the same. Feel sorry for the drivers and sellers. They were lucky people get not angry about them. 😮
Thank you for visiting Sri Lanka ❤. From lotus tower to Galleface beach is only 200 or 250. 500 is too much!
We thought so too😜
26:34 the way she said "nooo from the spices on that olly olly" hahaha she is so cute.
Guys inflation is high now in Sri Lanka
so don’t bargain too much. It’s their job so be reasonable and respect their jobs. Not every person unfair. Enjoy Sri Lanka ❤
Inflation is everywhere.. here in Singapore things have doubled in a couple of years... Nobody talk about it...
1km is 100 rs in three wheeler ... normal price if its 3.8km he stated a reasonable price 400 rs (nelum kuluna - galle face)
Excellent video - great courage - loved the snake part - awesome
We invite you to come and experience the wonder of Sri Lanka
Stunning , awesome and splendid ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I feel you guys misunderstood srilankan rupees with indian rupees in here 100 rupees mean USD 30 cents
The orange coconut is actually called a "King Coconut"
very nice video , Goldfinchs travel & tourism also provide best tour packages 😍
Hey, you guys are awesome in traveling ❤ Love you to ❤
Thank you for visiting sri lanka .enjoy ur stay in sri lanka
Hi my dear friends.. You are warmly welcomed to Sri Lanka and invite you to visit other fascinating destinations of my country. You both are really lovely. Take care and enjoy. Thank you very much for visiting sL.
As a Sri Lankan, I always use uber for my tuk drives becuz it's way cheaper and safe and also I should say I never knew about the flag thing, but whenever we hoist the flag we always play our anthem not when we bring it down. It's actually nice to see that scenario with the sunset.
That orange coconut is called king coconut which is only found in sri lanka
Sri Lankan GDP
STANDS AT 4600 $
After economic crisis down to 3800$
Indian GDP
STANDS QT 2800$
SRI LANKA IS STILL DOING WELL IN SOUTH ASIA.
THANK U SOO MUCH FOR COMING TO SRI LANKA
Im alsoo sri lanka
Hi Guys! Loved to see your vedios and got addicted to your trips...! Next time I hope you do visit India again... 🎉
All the best for your future trips 🎉
You guys are wonderful! thanks for sharing your travel journey! Cheers 🥂🥂
6:01 leanne was like "oh don't finish all the juice" 😂
😂😂
That cocunut is have only in sri lanka.it called Thabili
Enjoyed 🌹🌹🌹
Both are very kind innocent 🙏🙏🙏
Both of you smiley and cute faces, that's why we love you soo much. 🎉🎉🎉 ❤❤❤ Love from India 😂
King coconut was not expensive. Thats the price range. Its like a half a doller
It is at least double price, and I have paid down to 30 Rupees. In Colombo and Galle the price may even be closer to 50 as standard.
Orange coconut is called 'King Coconuts'. And 200 rupees (60 cents dollars) is not expensive, it's the normal price.
What’s the name of that lake? Looks cool
You are welcome to sir Lanka 💜💚♥️💜💚♥️💜💚♥️💜💚♥️
we also ignore normal three-wheelers and go for uber or pickme. normal/metered ones charge so high even for locals.
200 for one coconut is fair price thats not expensive bro
Now prices gone up after economic crisis 😢
FYI, After economic crises most of packed foods 100rs up, there value of 50rs is nothing
3:47 that's not an ordinary coconut. It's called "king coconut". They are only growing in Sri Lanka.
You two are a beautiful couple, my best wishes to you, if you come to our country again, remember to talk to us.❤
Brother and sister you must come our Bangladesh. every foreigner said we have great hospitality.our culture is similar with India and Sri Lanka. so both of you come and enjoy a lot ❤️🇧🇩
So the normal tuk tuk starting meter 100 and after 1km every other km will charge you 80. And the location u visited is Gall face beach 🏝️. Love ur videos bro keep traveling Sri Lanka

My friends those are not orange coconut, they named as king coconut and ayubowan mean live long life bro.. and also colombo is not the capital of sri lanka. It is financial capital. Capital of sri lanka is sri jayawardenapura kotte. Enjoy the tour my friends... Love u guys from Sri lanka...

@@thebuddymoon yeah… waited so long for this vlog
Look forward to sharing more videos with you 😊
I like your comments about Wagah border of Pakistan. And hope it will remain in your memories.
200 Srilankan rupees = around 50 indian rupees, so i guess its not that expensive
Lotus Tower 7,500/- SriLankan Rupees for Foreigners 😮😮
But Just 500/- for Local Srilankans..
15 times more 😮
Yep that's Sri Lanka...
In srilanka and India taxi like three wheeler they charged to much fair when dealing some foreigners you may hooked Ola uber in India they also provide three wheeler taxi ,car taxi as well as bike taxi also❤❤❤❤❤
it"s called a king cocunut(the best one)
we've noticed Leanne really have the balls for tough stuff. 🤣

The way to say byeee in Sri Lanka is like this , ehenam kollo API giya ...
Lovely video guys thanks for visit to sri lanka
Salt is good in tropical areas, one tends to loose via sweat hence good to replace
Awesome vlog love from Pakistan 🙂. As a Pakistani I fully support love and respect South Africa and its beautiful people from Pakistan 🙂.
First respect your own minorities. They are Paxtanis first.

What is your first impression of srilanka as a south asian country
The orange coconut is native to Sri Lanka called king coconut
120 rupees for 1km is a fair price..specially in colombo...
Leanne is brave 👏👏
Thank you hehehe. 😊😊
What you drank was a king coconut you only find it here in Sri Lanka as it is native tree to SL.nice vlog .❤
