Aren't you meant to first open up the crack with a knife or scraper? Then apply this ? Well, that's what I've done over the hairline crack that appeared over my new plaster. Then applied the Ronseal smooth product.
its ok but Toupret interior filler wins hands down everytime it sands down like sheet ice and feathers onto the wall beautifully. You can also backfill to any depth. For the price its amazing stuff :)
If you have hairline cracks in your ceiling, it's likely they'll always come back. Open the cracks up and fill with a suitable filler (not this), it'll last longer than just painting or filling the hairline cracks.
Hi, firstly it's not dangerous, you can't stop it, houses and ceilings move slightly. The crack is usually the join between the plasterboard, nothing to worry about, just annoying!
In addition if you have a loft and walk in it or move heavy stuff around it could put stress on the ceiling below. It’s normal in most houses to have ceiling cracks tbh.
I’ve got a crack in my fresh plaster, my plasterer told me to just paint over it but I’m not convinced as in my current house the same thing happened and there is a visible crack after being told the same advice. Would this do the trick?
TheCaptainHotdawg i got another plasterer in and he said the whole wall is completely botch job. Seemed like the original guy rushed it. Another crack has appeared so I’m glad I waited and got a second opinion. Hope yours isn’t as bad as mine!
It's pretty good stuff. I do have some of the Toupret filler also, it features in the recent 'the best way to fix holes in the wall' video. I like it too, they're pretty similar to be honest. Really smooth finish, but actually quite tough once dry 👍
Just what I was looking for. Thanks, Justin.
how do you the tip of the tube to.get filler out.

Top man. Thanks for sharing with us
I have textured ceilings with hairline cracks. Not sure what to do. Just fill with this and repaint? Or just repaint and let the paint fill?

I use this out of the small tub. It's much better than the lighter stuff like Red Devil.

@@JBTV is dangerous the crack Line would it get worse and cause my celling to collapse on me
Cheers man I'm gonna buy it. Could you give a update to see if the cracks have come back or not?
Nope, they haven't 👍
Is there a white filler so I can use one type match the white paint ?
Very helpful! Cheers!
justin why does plaster get Cracks even years down the line?
Very slight movement of the house over the years will cause this.
@@JBTV Thank you for your input Justin!

Did you go for this product? We are in exactly the same position, small crack in some fresh plaster... Wondered if this would do the job.

I used Polycell polyfilla paint specifically produced for hairline cracks, it’s decent stuff.
Give it 2 coats of sandtex masonry paint
after watching this video I purchased the ronseal filler but when I paint over it it keeps showing through?? please help.
Give it 2 coats of sandtex masonry paint
Hi there
Hey can i use no gaps instead of the smooth finish filler?
Is similar? ...
What is the difference?
Cheers
Not really..... No Gaps is likely to be an acrylic sealant - this will not give you a smooth finish like filler will.
Testing Ronseal Smooth Finish Filler for hairline cracks but... not on hairline cracks? :(
99 please
Nice.
Don't bother, give your wall or ceiling 2 good coat's of masonry paint for best results 👍🏻
Interesting.....
@@JBTV give it a try

You are filling with a scraper
Not tried this one but Toupret Fine Surface Filler is my go to on my old 120yr old house 😉
