Agreed. What I want to know is why we can no longer close the inventory screen by clicking the X with our mouse? I understand that adding functionality is hard, but why remove functionality that is already present?

I did 4 or 5 round trips today between Orison and Seraphim using no container, using an Hammerhead because it has now along the Carrack and Caterpillar a lot more Local Inventory than a C2 or Taurus. By the way i could not move a single one ship system or weapon in the ship invenventory. I will have to move the to the cargo space.
@@DreNizzo this depends of their size/volume. But I could only move none components items. All components above size 2 are not allowed, so for now they are stucked in main city.
I was able to move everything but my vehicle components off planet to Sheraphim. Did not think to get a cargo container and FYI, you can land on the external landing pads on the outside edge of the station that are on the side with all the big box like containers.
@@izraphailzero5610yes, but we should be able to box up everything we have and add it to the cargo grid. Hopefully this is an option when the hangar stuff comes out
This is temporary until cargo elevators are in. You won't need to buy boxes you will spawn them with your things in at the cargo terminal, then load them onto your ship. Also, with the cargo elevators, you will no longer be able to hover outside of a location to interact with said location's inventory. You would land and use the cargo terminal. Local inventory is going away completely.
Lost two 8 scu boxes when I stored my C1 with them onboard. When I called the ship again they were gone. Then the next time when I tried to move the boxes into local storage prior to storing the ship the boxes disappeared completely. They were back in inventory the next time I logged in, but the first two are still gone forever. So yeah, cargo boxes are great. But cargo game play is super buggy.
yep, i lost all my gear in similar way. mine was the ship just decided to be in a claim state.. after storing ... with cargo... waited like 30min, log in and out... still in claim state.. so.. yeh
Very useful. Can you please tell me if it is possible to use this method to move and transport to another place ship components and weapons like torpedoes, repeaters, quantum engine, that are stuck in the inventory of the planet ??
Call your ships at the landing zone, set them up for use and take a few sets of gear up and just call the ships up to the station. You dont need everything
I'll have to check this out, that I can't store cloths, gear, etc... in the cities or stations inventory other than my home location (Orison)? If I understand correctly (likely not), I can't leave individual items in a cities or stations inventory (except at home location), but can place the items in containers (8scu) and store them in a non-home location, cities or stations inventory? ;-) It was so convenient (except after a wipe) having cloths, gear, etc... stored in the various cities and stations inventories, but as indicated before, it looks like I have additional steps (filled containers in inventory) to retain that convenience? I'm guessing the next change will eliminate this work around (filled containers in inventory), with storing items in your "rented" city and/or station HAB and/or hanger inventory? Ya, ya, I know I can store items aboard my ship, but system errors can remove them from a ships inventory (that's how I lost my Flosom jumpsuit and other items).
And i have no idea, where the storage is in the caterpillar -.- many ships have other storage access points for example the C2. And this inventory have lots of more space
It is kind of silly lol, i wouldn't mind dragging the items into the cargo hold and it creating the boxes, or let me at least buy the scu containers in the hangar, up to 32 scu
I'm pretty sure when they add the gear kiosks, local inventories will become a thing of the past. And they will most likely wipe all stored items that people have to make the move to that new system as easy as possible. I honestly hate the current inventory system, it is incredibly clunky and you have to scroll through so much junk to get what you want, even with the filters. Every time a new update dropped, I used to fill up my carrack with all the old stuff, and then dive into Crusader so that the items would be deleted. I hope they just add a delete button in the future so you can delete unwanted items.
If only CIG would let us choose a station as our primary location, all this would be unnecessary. It nope. CIG forces us to start in a city on a planet. In a space game.
Honestly this was the stupidest change CIG could have ever done to gear moving IMO. It gets annoying having to fly back down to ur home planet to change gear / change or modify ships and even having to respawn and deal with the tram ride every time just to get back into whatever u were doing before u died. I can understand when cargo becomes more physicalized but not having all of those features in the game is just tedious and makes the game more annoying to deal with, everything else with the update has been amazing and the ships fly so much smoother and are more fun to fly.
An instant semi fix would be to stop people not doing the tutorial from having to set a city as their home. I'm a space monkey, I only travel to planets when needed. I prefer not to lol. I know they want us to experience the amount of work they put into the cities, but sorry, convenience is king. If i need to buy a component, i want to buy a few, to save me having to travel there again if i want it for another ship. In 2024 we have home delivery options for literally everything, in 1000 years I can't imagine this won't be a thing.
but am I the only one who thought that the 3.22 was significantly better than the 3.23 in terms of flight model and inventory management? Give me a burrito 🌯 if you think like me
Not inventory management because I think when cargo/hangar comes, they will add the second piece to inventory management. Right now it’s hybrid. The new looting is great. The flight model, it has been hard for me to get used to it or like it. It’s so easy to fly that I’m not excited to sit on my gaming chair with my dual virpils attached, I just use my kbm 90% of the time. It needs a lot of work and I was under the impression it would take more skill to fly in Arno now and none vtol ships will struggle.

In what math does 2,890,000 uSCU equal 696 SCU for the C2 CIG?????? That is a maximum of 100 jumpsuits in a vehicle designed to carry two fkin tanks! So stupid
How can we maximize player inconvenience and frustration seems to be a core question for gameplay at CIG.

They should just allow to choose any location as home or add a way to order moving all your shit to another station (for a price and with a delay).

Whats the point of having a cargo ship if you can't actually hold any inventory...
think of inventory in the ship like a glovesbox in the car. it can hold some "private stuff", but goods - please put in the trunk
