@Bebraveonce that says nothing really. Vancouver doesn’t really have a thriving coffee culture like some cities in Asia. And the ones they have are not on the same level. Also per capita doesn’t tell you much as Vancouver has such a small population compared to real metropolitans. Just like if you find a town or village with a small population they probably best Vancouver in terms of coffee shops per capita.
This Starbucks really has very good customer service. There weren't many foreigners here before, but there have been quite a few more since China opened up the 144-hour visa-free policy.
I went to this Starbucks last year when I went to Shanghai in October. I had dinner plans afterwards but I kinda messed it up cuz i ate so much from here. So many great food items. lol
China is a culinary powerhouse with a vast variety of restaurants and intense competition. Therefore, if the food doesn't taste good or doesn't suit Chinese tastes, even Western chains can't survive. For example, Subway and Taco Bell haven't developed well.
Suggest you check out China's home grown grown Luckin and PEETs coffee as well, you will be surprised how good they are with their coffee and other offerings.
I suggest you try out Manner Coffee, which is all over China now. Started in Shanghai. The coffee is great in taste, and it is very "affordable" (i.e. good value for money)

There are a few Starbucks R in China located in different cities such as Shenzhen Beijing and Guangzhou, but the Shanghai one is the largest. The plum whisky coffee is my favorite.

$13 for a coffee and a muffin is New York City level pricing wow! By the way, the Shanghai coffee is NOT from Shanghai, it's some sort of proprietary blend, blended and obviously roasted in Shanghai. They don't grow coffee in Shanghai and if they did it would be terrible given that good coffee needs ALTITUDE to be good. You blew past a Costa Rican coffee in the video and Costa Rican Tarrazu, one of the finest growths in the world, is grown at an altitude of 4,800 feet above sea level. Still that Starbucks is off the charts and your video, as always, is outstanding.

By the end of last year, Shanghai had more than 9,500 coffee shops, ranking first in the world. Almost every coffee shop has coffee quality above the average level of Europe and America, otherwise it would not be able to survive in this coffee capital.
