Thank you so much. I grew up with Little House books and the T.V show.
I live in the ghost town of Lund Idaho USA in the Idaho Rockies in an 1880's Vivtorian farm house with attached country store. It is decorated authentic with the furniture of the time built. It is a wonderful house to read and relax. I plan to read more books by Rose next.

She should be classed as a descriptive writer. When Mrs. Wilder wrote the series, why tell a little kid about the real dangers to scare them?
Now days, people want to ban the series because of Ma Caroline's Native American phobia.

Read these books many times
The Little House Laura was not a great writer either. For a report she recited before the class she made a great speech with a loving story about her mother but barely wrote a word on the page.
I think Rose was jealous of her mother and took credit for the books herself.
