Congratulations on #500 Coach Mac !!. My favorite concept is Switch. Switch is a versatile concept that be run from any formation with any personnel grouping, can be used in PA or drop back. Has pressure reads built in. For the defense to cover it, it requires a 4 defender box which is the beuaty of it. What DC wants to dedicate 4 defenders to 2 receivers? Call it until they do ;)
The best passing concept is the "Grass" concept. See grass take grass. I like calling the plays at the line of scrimmage. I line up and look at the places on the field that are unoccupied by players, I call them the holes in the defense. I hot route a WR/TE to run into the "holes" and once they are in the middle of the "holes" I throw the ball ahead of the receiver, to protect the ball from an interception.
I am not much for posting comments, but just wanted to thank you for making these videos. I am merely a fan trying to get smarter about the game I love to watch and appreciate all you have done to help me attain this goal.
Congrats Coach! Appreciate all you have done for kids & coaches. Most successful 5-Step concept I’ve carried has been the Post/Curl/Rail off opposite QB PowerRead PA.💪🏽💯
My favorite concept is out of 3x1. Single receiver fade - this is all about match up. The trip set outside in - 7yd dig, post, 7yd post. The ball typically goes to the second dig.
First off congratulations. I have seen this grow from the beginning and these videos are great, in detail, and alot of great ideas. Great JOB as always on video #500
Congrats on #500 Coach. I would say that flood is my favorite concept. We run it out of multiple formations with different players running the flat route.
Congrats on 500! Best football content around. Concept wise it’s hard to beat the versatility of four verts, but really like stick as particularly with the stick route really being more of an option route. 3x1 with speed at 3 is a tough matchup for the D. When run out of 3x1, if the D wants to flood the trips side then you can put your dude as the X and give him a 10-12 yard option similar to deep choice Tennessee runs. It’s all about your dudes and getting them the ball, players over plays. Congrats again, looking forward to the next 500
500! Man I need to go back and catch up! Good stuff as always... I was saying snag before I hit the play button for all the reasons you mentioned. I especially like to run it with yoyo motion #3 out of empty. For the sake of being different, my next favorite is shallow for all the same reasons. Can tag jerk routes, wheel routes, slow screens, etc....put any receiver we want on the shallow with compressed formations or motion...and it gives the QB an easier answer to man coverage with a short throw to a guy running full speed rather than chunking 50/50 balls down the sideline.
We run a Curl, Wheel, Swing (in our vocab) as our #1 3-man. We also love fades and fade-stops (~12 yd comeback) to our stud, and will run what we call a hook by a #2, where we chase the underneath defender, settling if he is determined to drop to the deep flat.
I don't have much experience with concepts outside of the football video game world, but Snag is also my favorite concept. If I had to pick one different, though, I would probably go with drive. I also like to add-in a trail route behind the shallow crosser.
I’m going with run and shoot slide (aka the grandfather of 3 man snag). More or less the same play just arranged differently, and also a vertical release by the #1 to make things harder on the corner Can’t wait for video 1000!
Congrats on 500. Personally I’m a fan of 4 verts. Tagging a shallow by one of the outside receivers is my favorite. Do you run snag as a quick game or more of a traditional drop back? I’ve heard of people doing it multiple ways.

Thanks, more drop back theory for us.
What’s the landmark for the stag route ??
6 deep 1 inside the overhang. If Apex backer widens sit
If he sits you work to him then bounce slightly outside of him. You aren’t getting the ball if apex sits
Congrats on 500! I'm a big fan of the 3 man snag with all the backside options.
Thank You!!!!
Pa boot flood w cross
Good stuff!!!!
