after scouring to find any kind of amatuer/novice tutorial... its either super basic of japan finals videos. thank you for making these and please continue. i dont want to make a complete fool of myself when i have the guts to show up to a tourney/convention
I love this series! Thank you for making this :D Been really struggling recently but i've found a playgroup to practice with and actually started taking some games at my locals. No locals wins yet but it's on the way!!!
Hey there! I watched this when it dropped, and I started to get wins one by one (Not really win at locals but win per game😂) from having zero wins at all. This vid really helped me and though it's not really a champ slot, I finally got my first podium(3rd place) last weekend. This coming weekend would be the flagships and although I'm not that confident that I'd get podium, I'd still want to thank you for starting this series🙏 Still on a long way towards improvement, but I'm making progress one match at a time😊
@@emperorpenguinpirates-onepiece Sorry, not sure if my reply sent. I think your DMs are in verified only mode, mine is Grimtendo if that works, thank you!
Being cognizant of our tendencies to get distracted by making excuses for a loss, instead of breaking down the actual reasons we may have misplayed is crucial if we want to improve. After you stop making excuses for why you lose, I think the next step is understanding that just because you won, it doesn't mean that you played correctly, and just because you lost, it doesn't mean that you made a mistake.
You captured it so well and it was something I was trying to get across in the video as well. It’s simply not enough to analyze just mistakes and having a more wholistic understanding of why you win or lose a game is such an important thing to understand.
my only issue with when I analyze my VODs/gameplay I never see myself doing anything wrong. I know I'm screwing up somewhere cuz I lose but I can't see the mistakes and if I can't see it I can't fix it ]=
It's been a while since you posted this, so hopefully you're still checking comments. I'm pretty new to the game, picked up the new black smoker starter deck (here in Japan) and upgraded it with a bunch of cards I see in winning decks. My issue though is i'm not exactly sure what my mistakes are. I'd say i'm losing like 90% of my games, but when I lose, I'm usually doing pretty well, like if I survived 1 more turn I would have won decisively. Usually they beat me with their last 1 or 2 hits. It's kind of hard to look back and see what I could have done differently in earlier turns that led to that point. Do you have a recommendation for analyzing play like that, to see where your mistakes were in the early game that lead to a close loss?
@@emperorpenguinpirates-onepiece i know what you mean. Haven't considered it. In case your opponent is not ready to cooperate in a good game, you gonna need to handle it your own way.

Amazing video I will definitely keep these in mind when I'm at my locals! With a better mindset maybe I'll do better than 1/2!! hehe :3
Thank you for making this!
Thank you for watching!
Really strong vid, I agree about seeing players fall into "scrub mentality" at locals.
Do you have anyplace to contact you about sponsorships?
Yeah and it’s only gotten worse as the game has gone on I feel like. And yeah! I have a Twitter @PengPiratesTCG where my DMs should be open!

Make how to play the game for newborn beginners
I have been thinking about that, but there are already a ton of amazing resources out there!
great video !

Might make a full video on this, can I use your comment? But short answer is yes! Your earlier turns shape the end game.
@@emperorpenguinpirates-onepiece Feel free to use my comment. Looking forward to the full video!
No problem to top 1200 in mythic MTG.. I’ve played this game for over a month now and I want to quit because this is so hard lol
Ain't seen you in months brother! How ya been???
Thanks for the support! I’ve been good thanks for asking! Schedule has opened up to make more videos.

It's obvious that you've played fighting games haha
LMAO how can you tell?
Who cares what your opponent thinks about you? Just ask.
I’m generally of this mindset, but I’ve definitely had some really hostile opponents that make it madly uncomfortable if you ask them after a game.

It’s a 2 player game , consideration and respect to the other player in front of you is basic courtesy.
