Damn, thank you so much for being honest and telling about all the "embarrasing" issues and going in deep. Not many could put this on the internet, but so many people needed to see this to be able to relate and not feel alone. Thank you and i wish you all the best, you seem truly lovely.❤
I also can relate to many issues you talked about,i just started therapy and hope to learn control my mind better, because when you feel so out of control of your body and mind,it's scary to even exist, because it can create this illusion of inability to care for oneself, and therefore make you feel worthless and unlovable.

This video has helped me so much, recently I've had stomach cramps that I've seen a doctor about and it seems to be anxiety-related or just random in general. And For the past couple of days, my bowel habits have been very similar to what you mentioned, including the bright red colour. After relentlessly googling and convincing myself I have cancer I stumbled upon this video and it has calmed me down massively. I still will go see my GP just to get their take, but this video has certainly eased my stress. I know it's not easy talking about these topics and appreciate you sharing your experience. Thanks

Such a great talk on a difficult but very real experience! One thing should definitely be noted with this, as well. That is, the prolonged tightening of the 'back door,' in prolonged states of dire stress. Often creating pelvic floor tension. I'm no doctor, but I strongly suspect this is a large part of why the piles don't just "clear up in a few days." Perhaps for folks who aren't suffering from the mental struggles, but I fully believe it's prolonged due to this.

I’m glad you mention stomach issue I had stomachache 12 years ago but I always knew it was anxiety cause it would only hurt in the morning or at night it never really worry cause I never had it in the middle of the day so it was always when I was nervous but now that I had my panic attack recently I was more worry about my stomach but then I told myself I would have die almost 13 years ago that one of my main systom is stomach ache but I only get it when I get nervous and that’s in the morning health anxiety brings all type of systom it give you a illusion that you have every type of disease but who ever going through my nurse also told me that there’s people who didn’t know they had anxiety and they come cause they have stomach issue .

ive dealt with these exact issues since i was in my early teens, first time i saw blood in my
stool i absolutely lost it, cried to my
mom for hours and we went to the doctor, and they said due to straining that it happened, they also said bright red is rarely cause for concern and is usually paired with other major symptoms if it is. just horrified me to no end. i cant thank you enough for this video because im having my first flare up in long while and its freaking me out so bad l cant focus on anything. I’m still wanting to see a doctor about treatment but this is helping so much from thinking the absolute worst because its so hard to find reassurance for this kind of thing. stress, anxiety, not moving around as much, and eating habits always effect my bowels and its so scary even though i know its most likely nothing to be concerned about. still have a ton of anxiety but its less now that ive found this video.

  • @holly9869
    @holly9869 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

can completely relate with the bowel changes that come with stress!! honestly the second I get bad news or become anxious my stomach completely cramps up and I immediately need to use the toilet. I did go to my doctor and he said I have 'classic IBS' as I do also get lose stools and cramps when on my period and when I've had coffee and alcohol. but he did say that it's SO common for the main trigger of IBS to be stress. He gave me some anti-spasmotic pills (mebeverine) which has helped if I can sort of estimate when I'll be really stressed but overall it is basically just a really shitty situation (in both senses!!) - so glad so many others can relate though

I had taken an over-the-counter "FIT" test which checks for hidden blood in the stool. Out of 6 tests (I spent $120 on my anxiety), 4 were negative but 2 had a faint line on the positive control line. I broke down crying and begging God not to do this to me. I'm a 26 year old athlete, btw. Very active, healthy diet. I went to see my physician and she performed a digital rectum exam (sticks finger up you know where), and she confirmed I had an inflamed internal hemorrhoid. She was certain it was the culprit behind the 2 positive tests. I highly recommend NOT buying those tests, as they as unbelievably sensitive to blood and will freak you the hell out like they did me. Deep breaths, people!

I've been down the bowel cancer road. I had blood in my stool from hemeroids, and freaked out when I saw the blood. It was bright red, and like you the doctor told me not to worry too much, and the poor bloke had to feel for hemeroids which he found!
But leading up to the doctor's appointment I was so scared that I was breaking up the poo in the toilet to see if I could find blood in the stool as I read blood mixed in the stool is cause for concern. I've never told anyone that before! But you're being open so why not! Gross I know but these are the types of strange things anxious people do.

I've been dealing with these types of problems for most of my life. I'm 52 now.
Been on cholesterol meds an aspirin a day and stool softeners going on a year or so.
    Have cptsd and depression.
My stomach and bowels have been at all time stress this year for sure.
Now increased bloating and a small amount of bright red blood at the end of one bowel movement. Light stool as well and burning in my upper stomach area. I'm keeping an eye on myself much more. Which I'm sure that's not helping the stress and depression.
However I keep worrying that I too have a serious ill and all these bad thoughts.
I'm making appointments this coming week to get these what ifs answered.

I just came across it because I’ve been going through a really rough time with my anxiety and depression on top of having terrible side effects from being on a anabiotic that has destroyed my gut and of course people with anxiety already have gut problems, so being on the course of antibiotics made it a lot worse and I’m constantly worried and I’m the same way as you when I get stressed I tend to lose weight. I’ve always been like that even if I’m eating normal, I’ll still drop a little bit of weight.

I needed this today! Just went to the doctor about the bleeding in my stool. Fresh blood. She checked my stomach and behind. I've been so stressed about it, but she told me that I'm insanely constipated and got some meds for it. Still, I can't help being so scared about this. This calmed me down a bit, thank you

Hii! I don't know if it helps you, but the moment my stool softened due to the meds, the bleeding stopped. I didn't notice any stomach symptoms so I'm doing okay now! Still on the meds to soften my stool and trying to eat more fibers to keep it soft so I don't freak out again! My doctor recommended putting some vaseline around it though, I haven't tried that yet! Also, what calmed me down was definitely the fact that it hurt my anus (i know, TMI, but it can help you) when I was pushing hard stool. To me, that was a sign that it was really just hemorrhoids or a small tear! I hope that made you feel a little better

Ten years ago my health anxiety started. It's been quite debilitating and very often stomach symptoms are the main part of it. And of course the vicious cycle is such that the worse they get the more stressed i become. What i really hate is how I go through a period of struggle with it, end up having to have tests etc and finally the symptoms alleviate when reassured. But then at some point later down the line when perhaps i haven't been struggling with health anxiety much, and haven't been too stressed in general, suddenly I'll feel very sick. And it doesn't go away and I'm thinking 'there seems to be no apparent cause of this so maybe THIS TIME it really is indicating something serious.' And as much as i try not to catastrophise and ignore it, somewhere in my head i know I'm going to have to get into the stressful medical stuff again unless it goes away. And of course it doesn't. And i try and leave it as long as possible so as not to seem like a hypochondriac, but then of course some part of me is saying that if this actually is a serious problem i might be reducing my chances of survival by ignoring it.
It's such an exhausting demoralising way to live.

This is something I am recently dealing with for about a week now. I’m getting blood well I think it is but I’m not sure. I’m my stools and when I wipe but it’s bright red. I get stomach cramp and like a burning ache sensation. Feels like I’m bloated from time to time. So every time I go to the toilet I get so worked up because I’m thinking what if this happens again and when it does I get even more worked up so I start crying and having a panic attack, basically I’ve convinced myself I have the sinister disease. So everyday now that’s all I think about. I’ve had reassurance that I’m okay I haven’t seen a doctor because I’m frightened too incase they say yep I’m sorry you have it..but my boyfriends mum she had bowel cancer and thankfully she survived 💞 and so I asked her about it but in like a small detail if you get me because I didn’t want to trigger her. And she said I’ll be okay and that I would definitely know if I had it because she had it. So obviously I believe her. But still my head is like no you definitely have the sinister disease. I cry all the time convinced I have it and that I’m gonna die. I just don’t want to feel like that. It’s so scary. X

this video is so reassuring... i too have a small hemorrhoid, and it bleeds when my stool is firmer, but i have never had any stress going to the bathroom before. it takes me like a minute tops to get everything cleared out but sometimes my anus kinda burns after. lately i've been having issues regarding going to the bathroom less but having softer poop. i look at it with my phone flashlight on and it looks all normal. i also noticed that when i am laying down, my belly seems to rumble a lot and i won't even be hungry. i feel very gassy too... and pass a lot of gas when i'm not anxious. good thing is that i'm not constipated or anything but i feel bloated and i lose my appetite occasionally. no cramps or pains or anything. i'm pointing my finger towards PMS rather than IBS because i started my period when this was all happening. but, anxiety really messes with my system.

I have suffered with anxiety-related stomach problems for years!! I feel sick, I get bad cramps, my stomach makes lots of really strange noises. It’s horrible! I lose my appetite, my bowels feel like they are constantly aching and contracting. It causes a sensation that’s very similar to period cramping, it’s really unpleasant. Not to mention I will go to the bathroom like five times or more with very bad, loose stools. It’s funny how anxiety and stress affect your stomach so badly. I’ve been really scared before about having colon or stomach cancer before and I’ve had really strange episodes of loose stools lately that have come out of seemingly nowhere and that’s convinced me I have something wrong. Though I know in my heart of hearts that it is anxiety. I take propranolol for my anxiety but it only helps to slow down and relax the heart, it doesn’t calm my nervous stomach. If anyone knows any good natural remedies or medications to sooth an anxious stomach, please let me know.

Hi there. Thank you for your video. I have been suffering from something I thought was IBS. It just started from one day to another. I was having normal bowel movements and then suddenly one day I had like 6 times diarrorhea. And it was all loose. It has been going on like that for good 3-4 years now and there were times when it would get better and then worst again. But I did spot a blood on my toilet paper back in December 2020. I got scared and went to A&E immediately. They brushed me off as piles right away. I got a blood tests taken and they were ok just showing I have diarrorhea which I knew already. Everything else was fine. They even did a test for hidden blood in stools which came back negative as well. But as I have anxiety I booked myself to gastroenterologist and he suggested to have collonoscopy. Which now I am freaking out they might find something. I am praying for it to be all ok but I am so scared that my anxiety and nerves have literally chained me to bed for the last 3 days. I can't get up in the morning feel weak and tired etc. I sometimes just want to go to sleep and never wake up.

IBS is rarely discussed and as common as it is said it is, personally I rarely meet people who is even aware of the words.
Recently, people told me I lost some weight. I just say I was sick, even though I just had days of diarrhea and some days a bit reddish.
Even my parents looks down on my situation saying "It's normal" it's hard to get support from people.

IBS suffers report that the pain stops once passing the stool or like stop eating for awhile or remove certain foods. I think cancer pain would be constant and not stop, you also might get elevated white blood cells so feel sick.

I really hate health anxiety. I been having mixed types of stool but no other symptoms. No blood, fatigue, weight loss, nothing but that. Don't know if its caffeine withdrawal as almost immediately I stopped drinking Coke, it all began. I'm gonna see my gastro doc, but hope it's not cc.

I have this too. From years of constipation. I suddenly have very very soft poos. Which I wanted. But now I'm worrying. I also stopped drinking tea and coffee. I also started having a green smoothie every day and a couple of prunes. So what I did was, go back to my old ways. Within 3 weeks I was constipated again. So yesterday I have gone back to missing tea/ coffee and drinking smoothies. I've been so worried that I've lost nearly a stone in 3 weeks as I have no appetite at all. I'll see if it happens again. I'm nervous because i have had a cough for 3 months too, which coincides with my bowel changes.

Hello! Have you been unwell recently? Do you feel under the weather? I always advice anyone with swollen lymph nodes to get checked by a doctor but 99% of the time it’s going to be because of a virus that your body is fighting off!
