At Quins he’s allowed to express his talent, and playing with a group of players that know what to expect from each other. He looked afraid to ‘do his thing’ for England, and had different backs each game. Crazy. He really is one of the most talented No 10s around but Jones has a way he wants them to play- goodness knows why. Need some Quins player power!
I think it’s a combination of factors. New team and players, different play style, lacking someone like Eusterhuizen outside him to make big carries etc, as well as a huge jump in the standard of the rugby. That said, he’s clearly shown that he is good enough for international rugby, and he’s only going to get better
Maybe, just maybe he doesn’t quite live up to the relentless hype when it comes to international rugby. He’s a good player but the constant Marcus Smith chat it’s just getting tiresome and can’t be helpful for his own development
@@arwy30ba I don't he cares about the 'hype', he has had it for ages and he is only improving. You are judging him based on less than a year of international rugby, at one of the hardest and most scrutinised positions to play at this level, with a team that are struggling anyway. Finn Russell never performs to the 'hype' which is set for him, but he receives a lot less criticism than Smith, who has played well this six nations so far. I agree he hasn't reached his potential or his hype yet, but that's only because he is young and its ridiculously high. He is already a top quality international 10.
Smith not doing magical things is up to him not Jones. What everyone seems to not realise is that international players and defenses are better than at club level. All these little dinks over the top that he collects will almost never work against an international side. All the little darting runs won't work either and will probably get him turned over. It's a different game and a play style like Smith's that dominants at club level doesn't necessarily even work at international level. Also, bare in mind that this is a highlight reel of Smith's best moments and there are only like 6 of them and it's far easier to get "best moments" at club level because the standard is lower.
He was there for the England vs SA game but this six nations he didn’t have the same attacking flair I felt. Still got the majority of England’s points. They’d be in trouble without him. A real talent, just hope people don’t put too much pressure on him.
@@oliverbrann6457 no, he's not hilarious, he's the greatest player to ever set foot on a rugby pitch and we should all be worshipping the ground he walks on. In a few years time when he's won the Nobel Peace Prize and ended world hunger you'll realise that he's not hilarious, he's Marco Smyth.
Funny how he didn’t make too many goofy faces against France. Too busy picking up the doors that blew off as the French backs flashed by. Not quite as good an international player as he thinks he is.
He's so overrated. If England want to ay at the level of France and Ireland, which is a few levels higher than England, then he's definitely not the answer.
The number of cliutch last minute tries/kicks from Smith to win the game for Quins in the last 12 months has been mental. Special player
Bags of talent. Not sure what Eddie did to him this tournament but we didn’t see much magic from him other than a few moments

Oh boy i have missed the Dombrandt - Care - Smith - Esterhuizen combo
He is one of the modern day fly half with great vision
A special talent and a wonderful and humble young man.
thank you
Such a talent I wish England and Borthwick would use him properly.
Just in case the England performances made you forget what he's capable of. Blatantly misused during the 6 Nations.
You do realise you aren't coming up against Newcastle level opposition in the six nations?
@@c0222 truth being spoken
@@c0222 leave Newcastle alone man can’t catch a break ahaha
@@Live.Laugh.Lobotomy Sorry lad :,)
any system england want to play is wrong if it doesn't have this man at the heart of it

He deserves More than a 7 min video
Generational talent
Marcus smith the absolute legend
If he was Scottish I’d have Russell out in a heartbeat for this guy. Equally as talented, if not more so, but more importantly he has a great attitude
Russell is a much better player
that man can play! 😃 Go Quinns!
Thanks
Our number 10 😀
Smithyyyyy
Shame that Care upset EJ. But it’s all too easy to do.
That's my boy!!!
That was unbelievable. Did I see Mike Brown pass the ball
this guy l0ve him coyq
Pretty impressive ….will he ever do it for England?? ….not looking that way
Why are wasps the only games i can never find on t.v?????
Is that Marco Smyth?
Hilarious😑

What’s tickled your balls mate?💀
I had the pleasure of playing against him when I was younger
Good video. I think Leicester will win instead
Great player but some ways to go before being international quality. Him and Farrell 10 and 12 would be quality.
No
Seems like Quins fans puffing him up, internationally out of his depth
Exactly
