I heard the administration wouldn't pay the money for a better OC if that is the case then this one isn’t on KF. Why would Iowa not have the money to pay for a better OC? What are they doing with all that money the football program makes?
Why don't we give these guys, Ferentz and Lester a chance to show us what they got. Also I want to point out that we should take a look at the number of drops that we had while we had our QB problem. It's one of the things I held against Vines, he ran to the open spots and then dropped the pass. I mean I know you guys weren't around for Chuck Long at QB but when he went to Detroit he had a bad year because his receivers couldn't catch. That's the way it is, the QB can't do it without a team behind him. At Iowa we can't seem to get our QB time that other QBs enjoy and we never have receivers that catch like other teams and our Oline isn't good in passpro. So let's get all of those things straightened out and see where our team is then.
Agreed. Do you all remember a guy hired by Hayden Fry to coach linebackers named Barry Alvarez? He was a HIGH SCHOOL coach when Hayden picked him to join his staff at Iowa where Alvarez ended up coaching linebackers such as Leven Weiss, Todd Simonsen, Mel Cole, James Erb, Jonathan Hayes, and Larry Station. He went on from there as you know to be one of the best head coaches the Big Ten has ever had at Wisconsin where he eventually became the AD. I am not comparing Tim Lester to Alvarez, but my point is, don't judge a book by its cover and give the man a chance.
Lester played quarterback and was really good at it, which probably helps.

This is better than Kirk jr by far
Lesters best numbers are made against defenses that ranked 90th at best.
What’s wrong with you negative people! My god, look for the positive.
did you really compare tim lester to paul christ lmao
Yes, in that he said they both had D1 head coaching experience. Did you actually listen or are you just looking for something to make fun of?
paul christ won games in the big ten tim lester was average in the mac against the worst defenses in the country lmao
How much would you pay for PC? Would BG put out that kind of money? Answers: too much and no
Disappointed and uninspired by this.
Not a good hire. Very disappointed
